The Baptist Manor

My mother is in a senior community right now called The Baptist Manor in Farmington Hills. They have a lot of amenities that she does not use. They also don't offer enhanced services; they're completely independent living. They have a church onsite, and they have amenities too. I don't think my mother had too much of a problem with the facility itself. It's just that everything's so far away, like the stores and such. Everyone I've dealt with has been friendly, but of course, my mom lives there and has some complaints that management doesn't get back to her right away. They have a calendar with activity schedules. Sometimes they have a game night, and other times they have arts and crafts, so they have different things. They always have something to do and I'd say that was good. The place is clean, and it's very warm. The one thing I didn't like about it is that they had an air conditioner only in the living room, but not in the bedroom. When it was really hot my mom would sleep in the living room, because there was no air in the bedroom. She doesn't complain about it though. Everything's included there, like the lights, gas, cable, and internet. One of the reasons why she moved there was that it was the cheapest community she could find. However, this month, the cost went up, and it was quite a big increase.

After searching the entire county, we are so glad that we found this little gem. My disabled sister just loves it here and has made so many new friends. The residents decide which activities the want There is privacy when needed and fun to balance everything out. The only issues are the smoking area being right at the front door and porch area. This is bad for those with lung and heart issues who must enter there. This should be moved elsewhere so it can not disturb most residents. Also, it has been months now and her intercom was never set up and maintenance issues not taken care of. Apartment is nice size for one person, cost is great and my relative is most happy with her new and, hopefully, forever home.

The Baptist Manor seemed to be very attentive. I liked the security aspect of the complex where they're able to monitor who's coming and going. That was a great service. Also, they provide med alerts/bracelets/devices to all the residents, which was very comforting to know. Utilities were included in the rental price, too. The place just seemed very, very quiet and they had a nice library that the residents can go to.

The Baptist Manor was more in my price range. It was a nice place. It was a little small, but seniors have to downsize at some point. They got studios and one-bedroom apartments. They were nice. Everything is included in the rent.

I recently moved into Baptist Manor. Everyone is very nice and they follow the COVID protocol. It is very quiet and secure with cameras inside and outside. My family feels that it is a great and safe place for me. The website states there is an 8 mos. wait for a 1 bedroom but that has not been updated so if you are interested call them to find out the wait time. There is a beauty shop, little general store, laundry facilities community room and library.
