"Golden Rule Plaza is very accessible for seniors with disability. They have the amenities that accommodate them. I rate them a 4 because of the location really, where the building is versus where there are shops. The staff was very helpful, as far as giving me the information necessary to apply. They're pretty clean and upkept. I've read the reviews, and they had pretty good reviews. That's why I kind of chose them."

"I've moved into the Belnor Senior Residences. I love this community. I've met a few people here, and everyone that I've met has been very friendly. Even just walking by, going in or out the door, the people are very friendly and make eye contact and say hello. I've had no problems in my apartment. I love it. It's great. It's perfect just for me. The staff that I have met were very pleasant. I've heard from other people that you got to watch this and watch that, but I haven't had any problems with them at all. They've been very pleasant and easy to talk to. They had a poetry reading on Saturday. On Sunday, people do basically whatever they want to do, but some of us get together and have dinner together. It's like a potluck. There are some of us that play cards. Some of us do line dancing. Every Monday morningthere's a coffee social. There's bible study, listening to music, playing cards, and there's Pokeno. I'm having a good time. We prepare our own food, but there is a food bank that comes here whatever day they pick, and they will bring food for whoever needs it."

"The Virginian was very nice, but we thought it was a little expensive. It's a beautiful facility. They had great facilities, too. They're just really wonderful. However, we were not happy with the floor plans we looked at. They had a small kitchen area, but we need a little bit more kitchen space than that. They don't have cottages; they're just apartments. The activities were great. They had a beautiful range of activities. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. We enjoyed our visit there, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. It's a couple of thousand a month more than most of the places we looked at. I would love to be there. However, it's a little far away from where we wanted to be. It's half an hour from the doctors, which is not good."

"I toured The Lewis Apartments. It's close to where I'm at now. I know where everything is. I'm allowed two vehicles, and it's closed to the public. The only way you can get in is through a keypad, or somebody will let you in. They have 24-hour security. Everything I saw, I liked, and it's a fairly new building. It's only three years old. I only met one lady who took me on the tour. She seems to know her job. She talks very nicely. I saw some staff members moving around the place, but I didn't do that as far as coming in contact and talking to them. She told me they have a 24-hour staff to be there."

"The rooms are very spacious! I am looking for a 1 bedroom for just myself. I don’t want a lot of space, but rooms are great sizes. The area has almost everything you need shopping, dinning, church, entertainment, home improvement supplies,metro and parking. At the time I visited the building was quiet, I’m sure there are times when it’s not. But I live inside my apartment. That doesn’t bother me. I like the apartment. I’m still looking but this may be it!!! Take the tour!!!"

"We've chosen Acclaim at Belmont Bay for my mom. The facility is amazing. It is clean and lively, and there's a good amount of people visibly enjoying their time there. It is also very upscale. The apartments are luxurious. The atmosphere is active and comfortable. They have a lot of activities for the residents there. The most important thing is they provide transportation for appointments within 5 miles. They have a salon, a gym, a pool, a game room, and a dog grooming center."

"It is all about the people! In August 2024, we moved from the Farrcroft subdivision (Fairfax) to The Trillium Tysons. At the time, we could not have anticipated how much we needed to be at The Trillium or how much The Trillium family would change our lives for the better. In our Fairfax community, we knew 6 people but were genuine friends with only 2. Within the last 6 months at the Trillium, we have acquired 100+ new friends among residents and 60+ among staff. We enjoy friendships and opportunities for socialization with residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care apartments. The residents and staff represent a diverse population from around the world with richly inspiring experiences to share. Personally, we have had a few unexpected health issues in the last six months, but we have felt the support, loving embrace of the Trillium community that would ordinarily find only in a close-knit family. The facility is gorgeous throughout the 15 floors. The restaurants accommodate individual needs/requests and consistently offer 5-star meals daily. There are so many exemplary daily activity opportunities that one has to choose among them. These include guided physical activity, arts and crafts, education, games, and entertainment both within The Trillium building but also excursions into the larger metropolitan community. Apartment maintenance, housekeeping, and transportation services are provided expeditiously at the highest level of quality. Have there been a few glitches in a newly constructed building? Of course. Could some processes be more efficient? Yes. However, the overall collective experience is extraordinary. Moving to The Trillium is one of the best decisions we have made in our long lives. We have rediscovered joy in our senior years. We consider ourselves blessed and fortunate to be living at The Trillium surrounded by such wonderful people."

"Chevy Chase House was very good, but they didn't do any skilled nursing activity at all. The living atmosphere was very good, and it's a very nice building. They had a fitness center where they could do physical therapy, a nice dining room, a lot of community areas for people to sit, and organized activities. It's in the city so you can walk in the neighborhood, and they had shuttle services. It was just expensive. The sales staff was very helpful, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very good. They had a cafeteria and the dining room was very nice. It was a very nice facility, very clean, and there's lot of good space for people. I would be very comfortable if my brother were living there."

"Harmony at Waldorf is a new facility. It felt more like resort-style living. The apartments were well equipped and laid out very nicely with high-end finishes in the kitchen. I liked that it's almost like you are renting an apartment, there is no large deposit that you have to put down. If you decide you want to move out, you only have to give them 60 days' notice that you're going to be moving out. That was good. The woman who took us on the tour, every resident we passed, she knew by name and addressed them by name. So it was nice to know that their staff knows the residents. The facility was just very impressive. It was modern. It felt comfortable, homey, and warm. It didn't feel sterile, not at all like a nursing home feel. We were very impressed with the amount of activities that they offer every month and with the menu that they offer. It was nice that with independent living, one meal a day which is dinner is included In your monthly fee. But if you wanted to partake for breakfast or lunch, you could just put money in your account and they would just deduct it from there. So that was more like a la carte, which was nice."

"We visited. I think the people there were very pleasant to interact with. The food was actually better than the place we ended up going. One factor is that they were rental-based, where you paid monthly, whereas the place we wound up going was a condo. This is very subjective, but we like the idea of being able to alter the interior so it's really nice and new inside. The lady that we talked to was extremely good, very straightforward, and had a lot of information. She's very impressive to talk to. I would say the one negative thing about it is that they really didn't have a very good place to walk outside. It was right on Connecticut Avenue, which is extremely busy. It was like being right on a very busy highway, so that was the thing that really was a deciding factor for us."
