My father moved into Chevy Chase House a few days ago. The quality of care and services that you get for the price is much better than any of its competitors that I've seen. The facility is compact and clean. It's more vintage, built in the 1900s. And I think they lean into that, which makes the residents a little more comfortable as far as the decorations and how they have all things set up. The staff has been excellent. The food is incredible. Chef Peter is very talented and very passionate. He oversees a lot of wonderful meals for the residents. They have movies every night. They have guest speakers and live music. They have activity groups, like reading clubs, game clubs, and puzzle clubs.

The outreach person was very personable and shared his knowledge of the different types of facilities for senior care freely. They have activities in the facility daily that my husband was very interested in participating in - including a Bridge Group daily! The staff were very friendly and several residents expressed their appreciation for the place. There is a good sense of community and many opportunities for social interaction. They have 4 levels of Assisted Living care and you pay accordingly (monthly) as needed.

We toured Chevy Chase House Assisted Living. The person who toured me was terrific. The units were nice. The building itself is quite old. Even though the units that they've renovated looked terrific. When you walk in, the atmosphere is 'this is an old building.' The staff was great. They could accommodate independent living and assisted living, but I don't think that they could accommodate all the needs that we may be experiencing as we grow older. I didn't get much of a look at the activities, but there are not as many crafts and not as big and nice room for the crafts kind of activities to happen in. They had lectures and various groups coming in, but I didn't experience any of that. The food was terrific, and that's based on a take-out lunch, and it was really good. However, it's an old apartment building. There's no landscaping and no greenery. It's an apartment building surrounded by other apartment buildings.

I liked Chevy Chase House the most. Although it didn't look as attractive from the outside because it's an old apartment building, but in a sense, I think that's an asset in the end. They were real apartments. You didn't have that feeling of being in a hotel room that's been chopped up to create a mini apartment, which many of these places are. This was a real apartment to live in with balconies, hallways, and an entry foyer. The person that did the tour invited me to stay for the meal and it was rather nice and the surroundings were pleasant. They had a little gym facility and also there were one or two activity rooms for lectures or small performances. I got a nice long schedule of events that they have monthly, which they gave as part of the packet when I was leaving. So, it seemed like there were things to do. They had good-sized bedrooms with actual kitchens in them and closets. Some of the balconies were walled in or glassed in. So, it was like a little porch where you could sit outside. It was just homey.

Chevy Chase House was very clean and in a great neighborhood. The staff was spectacular. The apartments were spacious for the most part but were missing some amenities in the bathroom, such as a seat for somebody to sit in while taking a shower. Also, there was only one washer and dryer per floor for the residents to share. The menus were spectacular at the place. Even the food was available any time of day, which was great. The only other thing was that the elevators are incredibly small.

I looked at Chevy Chase House. The tour was very good. We sat and spoke about all the details of the facility and what it offers. We talked about pricing. We went and looked at a couple units. The staff had an example of a studio and a larger studio because that's what we were looking for. She was able to answer a lot of my questions. She was very helpful and very communicative. I appreciate her friendliness and straightforwardness. They offer bus trips down to the museums. She showed me the gym. They have movies. They're working on building a grill outside. It would be nice for families to come and have meals with their loved ones.

I had the most incredible tour of Chevy Chase House when looking at senior living options for a family friend. Mary the Sales Director gave me a tour of the building including a studio and 1-bedroom unit (beautiful big windows, great light, modern renovation), the gym and the great room. She also insisted I order from the lunch menu and meet the Chef. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to see a veggie burger on the menu and noticed the food choices appealed to a broad range of dietary preferences. At the end of my tour, Mary handed me the lunch I ordered (covid prevented me from dining onsite) that was packed in an insulated to-go lunch box, along with a side salad, a piece of cake and a water bottle. Honestly, I was ready to move in there myself. There is a Starbucks 1 block away and the gorgeous upper Northwest DC setting makes you feel like you're still part of the DC action while giving residents the services and amenities they may need. This is a no-brainer choice.

My parent had been at CCH for a few years and lived through many changes there including the sale of the property, construction, management changes & great staff turnover. The end of her life there was a nightmare situation for us & though apologies were made by those responsible for the disgraceful performance, our family's loyalty was not appreciated. Some of the staff were truly wonderful and we informed CCH of this.

Chevy Chase House was very good. People are friendly. The staff was very informative, very helpful, and they're willing to work with me. I like them. I probably would have gone with them if it had not been for my loss. I looked at one-bedrooms and they were great. I saw a library, a gym, and a dining room.

I think Chevy Chase House is in a great location. I would love to be in a place where that's located. They were lovely and Mary showed me around and couldn't have been any nicer. I met the chef too and was hugely impressed. They have a lot to offer. They also gave me dinner to take home, a delicious corned beef sandwich, and they were very kind. They wrapped it up beautifully and it was in a lovely little carry bag. It was very well done. It's just not the right place for me. I think I want a more independent living place.

Chevy Chase House was very good, but they didn't do any skilled nursing activity at all. The living atmosphere was very good, and it's a very nice building. They had a fitness center where they could do physical therapy, a nice dining room, a lot of community areas for people to sit, and organized activities. It's in the city so you can walk in the neighborhood, and they had shuttle services. It was just expensive. The sales staff was very helpful, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very good. They had a cafeteria and the dining room was very nice. It was a very nice facility, very clean, and there's lot of good space for people. I would be very comfortable if my brother were living there.

My mother moved into Chevy Chase House. Its clean, modern looking, and the staff is very friendly. The dining area is clean, and the staff is attentive. They had a wine tasting activity, a Christmas party, and something for New Years. They have movie nights and exercise classes that are pretty full. Every day theres something going on.

The building looks amazing! My aunt used to reside here several years ago (a different owner I believe), and the building has completely changed. I am currently looking for my mother, and she is hoping to move to the community by the end of the summer. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms seem much lighter and roomier than others I have seen. When we visited, the community walking club greeted us, and several others were playing board games in the library. Delicious pastries and snacks were offered in their bistro area, which were really tasty. I was also impressed with the technology package they offered. Looking forward to having mom closer!

Facility is incredible. Under new ownership and management. Building has been completely renovated and has new central air (other facility we visited was window unit) and rooms are mostly huge 1 bedroom units! Was less expensive that small studio units at property down the road. Chef cooked us a spectacular lunch during our tour. Walking distance to everything. Top notch gem and best value in town.

My mother died in Chevy Chase House after living there for years. It was a moral dilemma whether to move her in her last year, as the care and services were very poor but we feared the change would be disorienting to her as she had dementia. We were able to pay for wonderful private duty nurses who took loving care of mom. Despite many kind front line people, the Ch Ch House service, including maintenance, housekeeping and all important nursing, were not good. I would not recommend Chevy Chase House.

My grandmother is in Chevy Chase House. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and my grandmother is very happy there. The apartments are very nice. She has a 1-bedroom apartment with a balcony, and it’s big enough for one person. They changed the chef, and the food is much better than it was. They have movies every night. They have food and entertainment. There is an exercise room. They have lectures, tai chi, and a couple of other exercise classes. For every holiday, they have an event where you can bring your family members.

I felt that the staff at Chevy Chase House Retirement is caring. My mother's room has a lot of windows, and it is well lit with a lot of daylight. It is big because she has a wheelchair so she could move around. She says that the food is good, and she likes it. The dining room is pleasant as well. It is bright and cheery, and I like it. They do have activities, church services, and French and Spanish classes.

We have already selected a place. My aunt likes Chevy Chase House. It's a great place. The staff was very friendly when we visited. The guests were very nice as well. We ate lunch there twice and the food was very good. They did have many activities like arts and crafts, bingo, card games, etc. You name it, they have it. I would recommend this place.
