"My father-in-law is at Brookdale Valparaiso - AL. Everything has been great. The communication between the facility and my husband (who has been handling this situation) has been phenomenal. It has been absolutely great. I can't think of a bad thing to say. They have an activities director who schedules daily activities most of the time. My father-in-law's wife died 20 years ago, but now he is going on day trips to the Lakeshore. They also went to a farm, and they had a car show the other day. He never went anywhere before, and so this has been a huge help for him. I looked at three facilities, and the other two were multi-level and huge facilities. The facility was smaller. It had the perfect square to walk around and exercise for my father-in-law, and that's exactly what he's doing there. He's 93 and I think he's on his new life right now. The staff members are always helpful and always ready to communicate with you if you have a question. We haven't had any trouble that way whatsoever. My father-in-law has been very happy with the meals, too. I feel very confident that they are taking great care of him."

"They say it takes a village to raise a child. It also takes a village to care for an aging loved one. At Valparaiso Senior Village they live up to this expectation in the best way possible. From the kind, caring, hands on Executive Director to the welcoming receptionist at the front desk, their “resident focus” rings loud and clear. When our father lost his bride of 64 years, we knew he could no longer live on his own. We toured several local assisted living facilities. While they were all nice, VSV really stood out. Nestled in a country setting, with handsome amenities, nice rooms, excellent food, and activities for everyone….it very quickly became home for our father. The biggest differentiator, however, was truly the people. From our first visit up to today, each encounter with their team members has been outstanding. During weekly visits, it became readily clear that the nurses, aides, kitchen crew, maintenance team, and activities director all knew their jobs very well. But, more importantly they all knew our dad. Each called him by his name, and were attentive to his needs, likes and preferences. The care has been consistent and exceptional. Dad calls them his “Super Team.” I cannot tell you how many times my siblings and I have turned to each other on our visits and said, “I am so glad we chose this place.” Dad enjoyed his time in assisted living for over a year and a half. Recently, based on candid, caring and accurate feedback from the staff at VSV, we transitioned him to memory care. This was a time of uncertainly for our family. However, the expert team at VSV guided us step by step and made the move comfortable and painless for all of us. They handled the whole move from his one-bedroom apartment in assisted living to his new studio in memory care. On the day of the move, the family took our dad out for an outing. When we returned, we went straight to his new studio apartment. All his favorite furniture and possessions were in place. Pictures were hung on the wall. His recliner and comforter were waiting for him….and the TV was hung on the wall and functioning. Our dad especially liked that they had hung his beloved Green Bay Packers sign back over his new door. Once again, he was home! They also permitted us to put up a birdfeeder outside his window to keep him connected with the outdoors. Since moving to MC, the care and ongoing commitment to our father continues to exceed our expectation. We know in our hearts, it was a good move for him, and we cannot thank the entire team at VSV enough."

"I normally don’t take the time to post reviews, but I felt compelled to share how wonderful our experience has been at the Residences. We feel very lucky to have found this place and although the road to assisted-living was not easy for my family, we are all very confident that we made the right decision for our Mom. This place is clean and consistent. The staff really does their best for the residents And they offer such wonderful activities each day. My mom really likes the farmers market and coming down to their little café and having her hot chocolate and snacks every day. The restaurant is a great bonus for when our family visits too! She’s moving more now than she was moving the last year at home. The therapy is wonderful as well. Overall, 10/10! Highly recommend!!"

"I was a resident of Victory Centre of South Chicago for 10 years. The staff were all nice. All the managers from the other building were nice to us. They had a lunch thing downstairs, you can go in and buy your food if you want. They could serve a meal, but we cooked our own food, too. If we didn't feel like cooking, then we could go downstairs and eat in the cafeteria. The facility was nice and clean. They cleaned up every day. They kept everything cleaned up for us. The janitors were nice. They helped us with everything we asked for. Anything we need to be moved out, they moved for us. They did everything for us. We played bingo and solitaire. We played everything up in that building. I loved it. That's why I said if I have to, I will go back. That's why I had to keep my name on the list and she said she'll keep me in touch when a vacancy becomes available. I told her my daughter was going to have surgery, and then I would go back to that building. That building was so nice. Everybody was friendly with no problem. I enjoyed that building."

"We chose Victory Centre of Sierra Ridge for Dad because they take Medicaid. Everything seemed fine. It's clean. Ashley was fantastic. They have arts and crafts and games. They have a whole room with various activities. The eating area was clean, and the people seemed to be enjoying the food. The room that they showed me was very nice. I think my dad will be very happy there. They have physical therapy and other things that I think will be beneficial to him."

"I toured the Victory Centre of Roseland. The staff was very engaging and very informative. He let me know what would take place while my dad stayed there, the activities, the meals, and the things that he would get. They have daily activities. They do laundry. They do housekeeping. The dining area was clean. It's open and spacious, and the people don't have to sit on top of each other."

"I have toured Tinley Court for my dad and it was wonderful. It's older but very clean and very quaint, and the rooms were beautiful and also very clean. The person who gave me the tour, Jana, was wonderful and very helpful. Their dining area looked really good. When I got there, they were doing exercises as a group in the chairs, and it just seemed like a good community for the seniors."

"My mom was released from a rehab facility before having the medical equipment in place to continue her quality of life. The staff went above and beyond to work with other companies to get my mom the tests and medical equipment she needed. Mom is in the process of recovering but would have ended up back in the hospital, if it was not for the quick response and resources of Bickford. Thank you for all your help."

"We visited Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park and toured their assisted living for my mother-in-law. The community is excellent. I like everything about it, but the price. The room was very nice. It had a TV, refrigerator, and a microwave. The person who gave the tour was excellent. The dining area was very nice, but I didn't taste the food. The upkeep and maintenance were also excellent."

"Heritage Woods of Manteno is the one that we're working with. It wasn't a really long visit. They took us to two different rooms, a studio, and then a one-bedroom. They showed us a store, and they showed us where we could have gatherings at. Like if we want to have a birthday party for my mom or something, they showed us all those rooms. The staff took us down by the dining area and we saw that. Because my mom needs some financial aid to get in there, so they're helping us get through that, too. The staff was very knowledgeable, very polite, and very pleasant. She kept telling us, "Don't worry, your mom will be taken good care of here." They seemed like very nice people. The place is clean and organized. It was very nice. I didn't see anything out of place. The tour was very thorough. They showed us a theater room. The place seemed clean and pleasant. I think my mom will be happy there."

"Mother has moved into Virginia Place. It's nice, clean, and kept up. They have a day room and a little courtyard where they could sit outside. The staff are friendly. They're taking care of my mother's health care needs. It's not like the last facility where she came from that was like they didn't like their job. At least here, the people act like they like their job. They love what they do. I asked my mother about the food, and she said it was a lot better than where she came from. So the food is pretty good. She hasn't participated in activities just yet. She is on her way to rehabilitation. They're working on getting up to transfer."

"Spring Mill Health Campus was nice with everything they had to do. My grandmother was there two years ago and their apartments were well taken care of. The staff was nice They were great. They had bingo and card games."

"Belvedere Senior Housing was very nice. Everybody's friendly. It's a very clean place. The apartments were a decent size, very clean, and very nice. It still looks like a brand-new building. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and very knowledgeable about the place. They give you three meals a day. The laundries are free. They take your whole check, but they give you $52 a month to spend. They don't have stoves in the apartments because I guess because they feed you three meals a day, but they do have a small refrigerator in each apartment. The landscaping is beautiful and they do go by your income, which is good."
