"My wife Patricia has been in the Memory unit since September. I can’t see how any facility could do a better job of caring for her. The place is clean and well maintained and the staff is friendly and caring! I would recommend Brookdale to anyone who has a decision to make about a loved one."

"My mother has moved into Arden Courts of South Holland. It is in the area that we were looking into so my brothers and sisters could have frequent visits. The staff is very accommodating. The facility is clean and they have an outside addition where they can roam around and walk freely. It's a locked-in facility, so we don't ever have to worry about her getting out or wandering off. We spoke to Anita and she was very forthcoming and giving us the rundown of the facility and the accommodations, and everything that she told us was right on point. It's run very nicely, the food, everything was what we wanted for our mom. We had gone to a lot of different places, but that one kind of stuck in it for us. We were just kind of like, "Ok, this is where she should be." The food was to our mom's liking. There are daily activities. They give us a printout of each activity that they're going to do given a certain day. It looks like a lot of them do take part in it, the dancing, and the games. It was all very expensive, but it was right in line with all the other places that we saw. We just took it because we like the clientele."

"I normally don’t take the time to post reviews, but I felt compelled to share how wonderful our experience has been at the Residences. We feel very lucky to have found this place and although the road to assisted-living was not easy for my family, we are all very confident that we made the right decision for our Mom. This place is clean and consistent. The staff really does their best for the residents And they offer such wonderful activities each day. My mom really likes the farmers market and coming down to their little café and having her hot chocolate and snacks every day. The restaurant is a great bonus for when our family visits too! She’s moving more now than she was moving the last year at home. The therapy is wonderful as well. Overall, 10/10! Highly recommend!!"

"My sister is at Sunrise of Flossmoor. It is extremely clean. There's easy access for family members. There is a nursing staff 24/7, as well as a concierge for security. They have numerous activities and outings. The dining area is more restaurant style, and the residents can more or less choose what they want off of the list of things for that day. They have very nice people. They are friendly and active. The medical staff is very interactive with us, so that if there are issues we know right away. It's just a good facility. They have all kinds of activities. There is exercise, outings to the library, ice cream socials, bands, and all kinds of activities that are brought in. There are crafts, cards, and entertainment. It's very nice. They try to keep the residents active in many ways. They also have a facility mascot, like a dog and a cat, for the residents. The staff is very helpful and very friendly to my sister. They keep me informed so I know what is going on, and that's all good. Whether it's medical or not, I know what's taking place, and I know she's getting the care that she needs. The food is very good, but I think there could be more monitoring as far as what food a resident is ordering, like if they're trying to control their diabetes and so forth there could be monitoring for that, and there could be more staff to serve the dinner and food items in a more timely fashion. I think the rooms are a little bit expensive and there is some marijuana smoke that you can smell sometimes at the facility, which I'm sure is a resident that's doing that. When you're spending $5,000 or more a month or $7,200 for the memory care, which is a separate unit, I don't think you should have to have that, even though it is recreationally legal. I just think there should also be a Medicaid option, and there's not a Medicaid option there."

"Charter Senior Living of Hazel Crest was smaller than the others, which seemed more personable. It's very nice. The people that we met were pretty nice. They seemed to be more hands-on, even more so because they don't have as many people to deal with. I met as many staff members as I could that I would be dealing with on a daily basis. It's a great facility."

"Colfax Manor Assisted Living is a house. It is more of a home environment where I feel that my mom will be safe there. I have nothing that I liked least about it. Everything just looked well taken care of, and they care about that resident there. I saw the memory care. They were caring. They have a live-in cook that does all the meals there. They care more about the residents as if they were one of their relatives. It was clean."

"My mom moved into Porter Place. I chose it because it was very clean and very well run, there are lots of activities available, and for the location. The staff is attentive. They answered my questions. They put me in contact with people I need to talk to, and Mom seems content. They have a bathroom in each room. They get showers two to three times a week, being helped to do that. It's set up where you can pretty much go anywhere and not be in trouble outside and inside. So far, I don't see my mom going much farther from her room. She's in a wheelchair now because she hurt her back."

"My mom was released from a rehab facility before having the medical equipment in place to continue her quality of life. The staff went above and beyond to work with other companies to get my mom the tests and medical equipment she needed. Mom is in the process of recovering but would have ended up back in the hospital, if it was not for the quick response and resources of Bickford. Thank you for all your help."

"It has apartments where the residents could bring in a caretaker, and they can actually live in there. Then they have a nurse and staff, but it's totally different than the other facilities that are memory care. They had a lot of activities, and it was a very clean place. They had a professional gourmet chef on staff. So, the food looks a little more than just generic meals. The whole facility is brand new. The staff member who gave me the tour, she was very knowledgeable. They have a little theater in there, and the activities were just basic activities. I didn't see anything extraordinary for memory care there that she explained. It just looked like there were more gourmet meals versus family style meals, I would say; there was nothing cooking at that time. The facility is very clean."

"We liked Clarendale of Mokena, but they had no availability. It was clean and friendly. They had a theater, an exercise room, libraries, and nice areas to sit down and relax."

"We toured Brookdale Orland Park and toured the assisted living for my mother-in-law. We liked everything, but it was the price that sold it for us. The rooms were nice. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. The activities and amenities were also good. Cable is included, the landline would be your own, there's no TV or a microwave, but there's a refrigerator."

"We visited Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park and toured their assisted living for my mother-in-law. The community is excellent. I like everything about it, but the price. The room was very nice. It had a TV, refrigerator, and a microwave. The person who gave the tour was excellent. The dining area was very nice, but I didn't taste the food. The upkeep and maintenance were also excellent."
