"My grandmother moved to Two Hearts Homes for Seniors - Crown Point. It's a small community of only 15 bedrooms. The number of caregivers to residents ratio is awesome. The caregivers there make the food for the residents. It's got a big open-concept kitchen, dining room, and living room, so they all eat together in that same room. They watch TV together. It's family-owned and operated. The owners have been great to work with. The administrative team has been great to work with. It's more of a home setting than a facility setting. It's just a family vibe. The staff is very outgoing and tends to go above and beyond. There's a small number of residents. So, they can take the time to get to know the people. It's very intimate. The facility is clean. The facility is brand new. They just sent me a picture of my grandma painting a coaster today. The whole building is in the shape of a U. At the bottom of the U is like the living room, the kitchen, and everything else. Then the branches of the U, the one bedroom, the large studio apartments, and they have a nice bathroom and nice-sized high ceilings."

"My father-in-law has been in Arden Courts of South Holland for about two months, and it's all doing great. I am very pleased with the staff. They're really doing a great job. It's wonderful, and I love it. It's only a one-storey building, which is all we wanted. It's circular setup wise, so that's great for his dementia problem. It's a nice small property. We're happy with his care, and the staff is very accommodating. It's very centrally located for the brothers to come and see him. "

"The residents have individual rooms and a wonderful well kept common area and kitchen. In summer months there is a great front porch and outdoor area in the backyard where residents can gather. The staff is very caring putting residents needs first. My father was in a larger facility where he was just a body. Here he is treated as an individual. He is cared for and loved by the two hearts staff. A smaller home is the way to go for the individual loving care you would want for your aging loved one."

"My dad was in Symphony Chesterton for rehabilitation, and it was very nice. He was in rehab, so his room was just a basic room, nothing fancy, but it was clean and nice. He had heart issues, so they have him walk and do things like that. There were just strengthening therapies. The staff was nice and cooperative. They did try to get him out of there as soon as possible, but I didn't feel he was quite ready to leave. They were good with activities. They had a nice dining room, they had a lot of extra activities for them to do, and they had get-togethers that you could attend if you wanted to."

"My parents are residents of Aviva Valparaiso. Most of the staff was very nice. I ate there. They have lots of choices of food. The food is good. The facility, it's nice and clean. It's pretty much updated. They have all kinds of activities. It is a lot of money, but you're getting a lot of stuff. It had a nice atmosphere. My mother has Alzheimer's. So if she progresses, she can still be in the same building but be in the memory unit, which is right there. So we don't have to move her."

"I toured Avalon Springs Health Campus. I just think in assisted living, they could have assisted a little bit more with the person in there. The rooms were just excellent. I mean, they clean the rooms every day. It was spotless. I have to admit, they were very good at keeping things up. The food is excellent and has a great selection."

"I chose it for my parents because it is within 5 miles from where I live. In fact, they have just moved in about a month ago. I like what they offer and I think this is a safe place for them. This place is wonderful. My parents can go everyday and have one meal in their assisted living dining area. There are also a lot of activities that my parents can participate in. The staff members are wonderful people. They really care for their residents and everybody is treated like a family there. The facility itself is very clean. It is just three years old and their little homes are all new. It was a major transition for both my parents and they are missing their home of 44 years, but they're satisfied in this facility and so far, so good."

"We went to look at Trail Creek Place. The room they showed for us was just too small for a couple. I thought for a single person (for myself), it would be just perfect. But for both my husband and I, I just didn't think that the room was large enough for the two of us. The facility was nice and clean. The staff was very nice. She really went out of the way to get information for us, as far as the cost and everything. She was trying to get us some money to help us with the cost of the unit. I did see a calendar that had activities. They have bingo, games, arts and crafts that they could do. I saw that they would bring in entertainment for the patients to keep them busy and stuff."

"The rooms at Brentwood were huge. They had big closet spaces and huge bathrooms. They had big living rooms and bedrooms. They were clean and they had strings to pull in case of emergency. There were little patios outside the door of each room that they could decorate and they were adorable. I had not seen the activities, but I heard about the activities that they had and they sounded perfect for what my grandmother would be looking for. The few staff that I interacted with were amazing. They were hands on and they called us to see how grandma was doing because she had some medical issues right after we were looking for a place for her. I would absolutely recommend them to others. "

"My dad is going here. The thing that I liked about it was the peace and calmness of the place. We liked the atmosphere. There was an outdoor space, so they could go out and walk in the courtyard. The staff who gave the tour was so pleasant; I love her. She was very understanding and considerate. She was very patient with me. The cleanliness was fine. It didn't smell. It smelled like a nice and clean place. I think they need to update their foyer area."

"I really liked Towne Centre. I've known it for a long time, but it was my first visit. They showed courtesy, showed me around, showed me everything I needed to know, and I liked what I saw there. Everything looked pretty clean. I had lunch there, and the food was good."

"Spring Mill Health Campus was nice with everything they had to do. My grandmother was there two years ago and their apartments were well taken care of. The staff was nice They were great. They had bingo and card games."
