"My aunt is now at Arden Courts of South Holland. It feels very homey. It's a small facility where they get excellent care. Everybody knows everybody's name. They have different houses in the facility. Each house can have up to 15 patients, and each house has its own common room, dining room, and kitchen, so it makes her feel more like she's at home, rather than in a facility. The staff has been excellent. I have no problem with them. Any time anything goes on with her, no matter how small, I am given a phone call for an update on how she's doing and what's going on. They care there, and they know how to talk to and deal with patients with Alzheimer's and dementia because they need a special kind of care. Activities are music, crafts, trivia nights, and TV-themed activities. In the common part of the facility, there are different stations where you can have a gardening station, a sports station, a handyman station, a book station, and a little store station. They have different things that people might be interested in, and they could go to the station to just see the things, touch them and get hands-on. And I think that's important because they take into consideration all the different ways the people might have grown up or what they might like. The food is excellent."

"My wife Patricia has been in the Memory unit since September. I can’t see how any facility could do a better job of caring for her. The place is clean and well maintained and the staff is friendly and caring! I would recommend Brookdale to anyone who has a decision to make about a loved one."

"They say it takes a village to raise a child. It also takes a village to care for an aging loved one. At Valparaiso Senior Village they live up to this expectation in the best way possible. From the kind, caring, hands on Executive Director to the welcoming receptionist at the front desk, their “resident focus” rings loud and clear. When our father lost his bride of 64 years, we knew he could no longer live on his own. We toured several local assisted living facilities. While they were all nice, VSV really stood out. Nestled in a country setting, with handsome amenities, nice rooms, excellent food, and activities for everyone….it very quickly became home for our father. The biggest differentiator, however, was truly the people. From our first visit up to today, each encounter with their team members has been outstanding. During weekly visits, it became readily clear that the nurses, aides, kitchen crew, maintenance team, and activities director all knew their jobs very well. But, more importantly they all knew our dad. Each called him by his name, and were attentive to his needs, likes and preferences. The care has been consistent and exceptional. Dad calls them his “Super Team.” I cannot tell you how many times my siblings and I have turned to each other on our visits and said, “I am so glad we chose this place.” Dad enjoyed his time in assisted living for over a year and a half. Recently, based on candid, caring and accurate feedback from the staff at VSV, we transitioned him to memory care. This was a time of uncertainly for our family. However, the expert team at VSV guided us step by step and made the move comfortable and painless for all of us. They handled the whole move from his one-bedroom apartment in assisted living to his new studio in memory care. On the day of the move, the family took our dad out for an outing. When we returned, we went straight to his new studio apartment. All his favorite furniture and possessions were in place. Pictures were hung on the wall. His recliner and comforter were waiting for him….and the TV was hung on the wall and functioning. Our dad especially liked that they had hung his beloved Green Bay Packers sign back over his new door. Once again, he was home! They also permitted us to put up a birdfeeder outside his window to keep him connected with the outdoors. Since moving to MC, the care and ongoing commitment to our father continues to exceed our expectation. We know in our hearts, it was a good move for him, and we cannot thank the entire team at VSV enough."

"I normally don’t take the time to post reviews, but I felt compelled to share how wonderful our experience has been at the Residences. We feel very lucky to have found this place and although the road to assisted-living was not easy for my family, we are all very confident that we made the right decision for our Mom. This place is clean and consistent. The staff really does their best for the residents And they offer such wonderful activities each day. My mom really likes the farmers market and coming down to their little café and having her hot chocolate and snacks every day. The restaurant is a great bonus for when our family visits too! She’s moving more now than she was moving the last year at home. The therapy is wonderful as well. Overall, 10/10! Highly recommend!!"

"My mom was released from a rehab facility before having the medical equipment in place to continue her quality of life. The staff went above and beyond to work with other companies to get my mom the tests and medical equipment she needed. Mom is in the process of recovering but would have ended up back in the hospital, if it was not for the quick response and resources of Bickford. Thank you for all your help."

"We were very happy with the care our mom received. Staff was very professional, caring, and nurturing, with a lot of communication. Mom was very happy there, and they kept her occupied with activities while she was still able to participate. Had her in a regular nursing home ( which shall be nameless) for a few weeks prior, and will never do that again. We highly recommend. "

"We visited Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park and toured their assisted living for my mother-in-law. The community is excellent. I like everything about it, but the price. The room was very nice. It had a TV, refrigerator, and a microwave. The person who gave the tour was excellent. The dining area was very nice, but I didn't taste the food. The upkeep and maintenance were also excellent."

"My dad is going here. The thing that I liked about it was the peace and calmness of the place. We liked the atmosphere. There was an outdoor space, so they could go out and walk in the courtyard. The staff who gave the tour was so pleasant; I love her. She was very understanding and considerate. She was very patient with me. The cleanliness was fine. It didn't smell. It smelled like a nice and clean place. I think they need to update their foyer area."

"Spring Mill Health Campus was nice with everything they had to do. My grandmother was there two years ago and their apartments were well taken care of. The staff was nice They were great. They had bingo and card games."

"I visited the Towne Centre to see my grandma and my great aunt. It was a great place. Everything was up to date and clean. The staff was very kind, very nice, and courteous. They took very good care of my grandma while she was there. There were always activities. My son brought his guitar and performed for the residents. There was always something going on, even church service. They had good meals daily, and she had no complaints about it."

"Our Mother lived at Brentwood of Hobart for the last fifteen months of her life. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the care she received. Upon entering, Brianna or Jason made you feel like you were at home. Sandra the Director was compassionate, professional, and she truly cared about the residents and their families. The Nurses and Aides were outstanding. There are too many to mention, but Dana, Natalie, and all of them went out of their way to treat our Mother well. Nobody likes to see an elderly family member not able to live at their home, but as far as an Assisted Living facility, I would recommend Brentwood of Hobart without reservation. Thanks to all of the wonderful staff members for treating our Mother so well."

"I toured Cedarhurst of Dyer. Everything was excellent. Everything that you want to have in your facility was provided. It's brand new, and I couldn't find anything wrong with it."

"My mother has moved here. It's been very nice. She has been very happy there. The rooms are very nice and very comfortable. My mother is very happy with the staff members. She said they all know her by name for the short time she has been there. The dining is restaurant-style. There are people who individually wait on the tables. They have bingo, exercise classes, and field trips to the store. They have a library, too. My mother hasn't attended too many activities, but they offer everything."

"My husband is in St James Manor & Villas. Thomas, who is in charge of showing the place, was a very nice person. They have assisted living there too, besides the memory care where my husband is, and he showed me all of it, so I knew what the whole place would be like. The rooms were nice and my husband is in one that is fixed up with a TV that they furnished. They were very accommodating to me since I didn't want to just bring him over and drop him off so I asked if I could spend the night, and they said yes. They just had to know for sure so that they knew how many people were in the building. He has a little refrigerator so I left him some cookies and some stuff there. They got him a very nice leather recliner, I had asked for one because he used a recliner in his room every day. The nurse came in to speak to him and me. I met the night nurses and they're very efficient. The face is not really fancy but they are fixing things up a little at a time and my husband seemed pretty content there. I thought it was very nice and clean. It looked like it had fairly new carpeting, 2 big closets, the TV, a nightstand, and a dresser for him so I didn't have to bring furniture. It worked out great for me because being 50 miles away from there, I didn't want to have to get my son to bring their truck over there and drop his things off so it was perfect. When I went over to my husband's room the first time, I noticed that it looked out to a patio with some furniture out there. There are lots of flowers and it's gated. Other than that part, there's also another outside area that he could go to. I had a meal with my husband there and it was very good. We had ravioli last night with garlic bread and mixed vegetables. He ate the whole plate so he enjoyed it. For breakfast, we had oatmeal and scrambled eggs with ham. Of course, he doesn't have any teeth on the top, so he has to have something soft. He could eat toast though and so far, he enjoyed all of his meals there. I know they're doing some fixing and stuff but they need new carpeting, for sure. In his room though, it looked like it was fairly new. I think they're working on getting the fixing done but I'm very happy with his room. "
