"My brother was at StoryPoint Schererville. I was his caregiver, and I was there every day. Over the years, I got to know everybody there. It's highly rated. The people that work there are excellent. They keep the place clean. He lived in independent living throughout the time. They allowed him to stay in independent because I was his caregiver 24/7. Stephanie, the director, did an excellent job of assembling the right people. She has people who really enjoy working there, doing what they do to make everybody feel good. It's a very clean place. She assembled good people in the kitchen to provide meals. It's a safe environment too. They have 24-hour care there. It is called CorsoCare where they have a nurse and a CNA. If anybody has a problem, all they need to do is press the pendant button, and someone will be there to help them out. They have a lot of activities. They have a crafts room where people get together for art projects. They have bingo, card games, and puzzles. High schools and different groups come to sing. They had mass there once a month for Catholics. They have Bible study for others who want to participate in that. During the summer, they have a car show outside. They have outdoor barbecues like on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. They have brunch and buffet once a month. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They even have musicians come and entertain. You could walk around the entire property. They have seating outdoor. Outside of the dining area is a fenced in area where they have a garden. People can do gardening and stuff or just sit out there. There's plenty of space to walk and to exercise. They provide physical therapy there six days a week. They have wait staff there morning, noon and evening. They have a lot of very good young people. They don't even have to write down the people's orders. They know their orders. They address the people by their name. On Halloween, kids come and do trick or treating in the building there. Around Christmastime, they do Christmas caroling. Stephanie is really hands on. This lady is on the move. She checks everything. She has meetings with her staff every day. She meets with all the residents too. I would attribute the current happiness on my part to her leadership in there. The people keep the place really clean. Like any other facility, you're going to have problems, but they address the problems immediately. They truly care. They're happy and they treat the residents there with respect. They are helpful. The rents differ depending on the size of the room and what their needs are, but people will be truly happy there. The indoor parking garages are safe also. You have farmland around there, but you also have a residential area, and it's quiet and safe. The vegetable omelet is phenomenal. They have a bus that takes people to their medical appointments and takes them out shopping. They have wellness people and a dietitian. You are getting value for your dollar based on how much you would be spending. They do an excellent job in housekeeping and they have an excellent maintenance director. They take care of things in the concierge desk. They're very efficient. They have a great mailman that delivers to the building. The place is always bursting with people and family members and staff. It's a constant flow of people and it's a happening place. They have a lot of activities there for the veterans. They have free wi-fi in the building. It's in a good area. You're between two major shopping areas and it's close to all the hospitals. They have gatherings where people get together for coffee, cookies, and they bake stuff at the bistro. They have a bar inside there."
