"My parents are in Marian Village. It's very nice and very clean. The residents are all smiling, and they look really happy there. The place is beautiful, and looks like a resort. Everybody is wonderful, the food is great, and they have a lot of activities to do. They take them to the stores and theaters, and have woodworking and crafts."

"We have selected a place to move to. The top of our list is Franciscan Village. We are moving to what they call a garden home half a block away from the main building, so it's just a short walk. In the main building, they have a large dining room, a snack bar, workout facilities, and a library. We are able to live independent with a 2-bedroom apartment. It's what we were looking for. The staff bends over backwards to take care of you. Franciscan Village is a Catholic community. They have their own chapel, and along with that, they do have some of the nuns living right there near the people so they can associate with each other. I find that very relaxing. They're pretty filled up with activities for everybody. "

"We visited for a tour. The young lady that we spoke with was actually very good, and we really enjoyed our visit with her. The facility was nice, but it just was not for my mom. It was very clean."

"The rooms at Victory Centre of South Chicago were very nice, clean, and had a nice view. The heat was ample. They had a ping-pong table, a pool table, games, television, and stretching exercises. The food was ample and scheduled, but you can always have soup or something else, and that was readily available for eight to 10 hours. The staff was excellent in explaining everything."

"Spacious rooms, walk in closets and big windows that lets lots of light in. Mother in law enjoys the different options for food and enjoys the activities that happen daily."

"I walked through Cantata Adult Life Services' nursing home facility. I found the people there to be very nice to deal with. The place seemed to be very good. It seemed to me to be well kept and very attractive. "

"I moved to The Roosevelt at Salt Creek. I chose it because of its location. The rooms are large and completely reconditioned. They have activities, but I haven't been yet. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The food is very good. They keep the facilities clean. For the value, I'm thinking that I am paying a little bit more."

"We got to visit American House Cedarlake. The tour was very informative. The girl who gave us the tour was very helpful. She even recommended that we personally check with the VA to see if my dad is eligible for VA assistance. The room we saw was quite spacious. We looked at the bigger of the one-bedroom studios where they had a wall that divides the living room and the bedroom. It was good because I figured he could fit in there easily. They have underground parking there, so my father can bring his vehicle, and they also have a woodworking shop that he's interested in doing. We are leaning more toward this place because of these two things."

"I toured Timbers of Shorewood for my grandmother. They had a lot of activities, like bingo, puzzles, poker, and movie nights. Food was not included in the price, so you have to buy a separate meal plan. They had studio apartments, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. The sizes were nice. They had two different sizes for the one-bedroom apartment. I tried the food and it was OK. They had a physical therapy room and a garden."

"We are going to move to Lexington. It's a lovely, friendly place, and it seems like it's going to work very well. The staff we met was wonderful. The apartment we got is a two-bedroom, two-bath, with kitchen and living room. The price is within our budget."

"Independence Village of Naperville was a nice place. They were very friendly and they provide three meals a day. It's the one-bedroom that I looked at, and it was very nice and a pretty good size. It had an individual bedroom and a kitchen, and a nice closet space. They had a beautiful dining room, they they have what they call "the great room," a library, and a laundry room. I think it was a wonderful and a pretty nice place, but I think it was more comparable to an upgraded nursing home. There were people playing bingo while I was there in the activity room. They have a little refrigerator, and a tiny sink, but there was really no need to have anything more because they already serve meals. They just had space for if you wanted special cooking. It also had a microwave. Their staff was wonderful. If I have to live there, I can drive my car if I want to, but I would actually have access to a ride to grocery shopping or anything like that."

"My father has been either in hospitals or in medical rehabilitation facilities for over the last 5 months. His health rapidly deteriorated and it is going to take months to get him completely better, if that is even possible. He is unable to return to living completely unassisted, and I am his only child, so it is my responsibility to find a place that will both offer aid and a good quality of life. I have toured Concord Place twice and have been VERY impressed with everything I have seen and experienced. My father and I have decided this is where he will go to stay. It is close to my home, so I can visit often with my kids, and will be only minutes away if any emergency arises. The facility he is in right now has, over the course of the last month, given me 6 different planned discharge dates for him. As of 2 days ago, his planned discharge was June 19th. I called CP and told them to plan on that day to have his apartment ready. It was getting new paint and new carpeting, and it would give me a couple of weeks to get his bed and furnishings moved in. Yesterday, the current facility said they needed to switch his discharge to the 13th due to insurance issues. An hour later, it was moved to the 8th, and then at 5pm last night, I was informed they were going to be releasing him on the 31st, which is TOMORROW. Concord Place, and specifically Kelly and Tony, have bent over backward to assist my father and I with this INCREDIBLY frustrating development, and they have told me they will make sure his room is ready tomorrow, complete with temporary furnishings until I can move his in next week. I cannot say enough good things about these people and this place, and I will be recommending it to everyone I know who has similar circumstances to my father. Concord Place is AWESOME, and I cannot thank you enough. PS. I will also come back in a few months and re-review after he has moved in and experienced some of the many activities offered. "
