"This is a wonderful campus with independent living in one or two bedroom apartments. This community is faith based and my parents have really enjoyed settling in to this place and it felt like home to them immediately. They travelled to Florida recently but could not wait to get back "home". They enjoy the food and the fellowship with other residents and are proud of their apartment and allow it to be showed to prospective clients at any time. My siblings and I have piece of mind that our parents are safe and are well cared for. There are other services on this campus including assisted living and skilled care if their needs change. I would highly recommend Victorian Village!. "

"Marian Village seems like a very good value; a lot is included. This one is run by the Franciscan Community. It's got everything we wanted for mom, especially the washer and dryer in the unit. She doesn't have to walk down the hall, and find out that the washers and dryers are busy and go back to her room. It was a good selling point there. Everything was nice and clean. All the meals were included. She's happy about having a bank onsite, a beauty shop, and a beauty salon there. The elevators and everything are more conveniently placed, and it is easier to move around than some other places. Everything was pretty straightforward. I toured the place first, and then my sister and I took my mom another time to check everything over again. They had a unit that would just be perfect for her. It was a 1-bedroom with a small bedroom/den so you could use it as a small bedroom or as a den. It was perfect. The unit she'll be moving into is close to the elevators, which is great for her. We found that some of the other places charge more the closer you were to the elevators. It was nice that they didn't charge more just because you were closer to the elevators. They have nice safety features and everything. It was important for her to be at a community where there was a church or a chapel. She's going into an independent living apartment, but there is always an ala carte menu. Just in case she likes a little help, maybe with dressing every day or showers every day. You can order that separately. Once we find that she need more services than we realized, she gets the first choice of moving into the wing where it's assisted living rather than someone who's just coming from the outside. She would already be a resident there, so she would get first choice. So overall, it would work perfectly for us. She gets all the safety measures, and she would be wearing a bracelet. If something happened, she could push the button. They would come running to help her. There's also some kind of monitor in the middle of the apartment, so if there was no movement after a while they would check on her. We saw the residents there, and everyone was friendly. I talked to many residents there on my visits asking them how they liked it, and they all loved it in every way. So that's really nice. We feel really comfortable about that. Their facility sits back farther from Route 7. They own a lot of land, so they could still expand even more. They have the option of building more as they need. My husband and I decided that if the day comes, we would love to live there. They have a cottage. They have garden homes for couples or people who still want to manage their own home with their car and garage. You could live in an apartment where you don't ever have to walk outside. They told us that if we would like to sit in the dining room and eat at some point with our mom, we could call and set a time so that they could have us come in there."

"Village Green Active is a fine, excellent, caring community that keeps the residents involve in all sorts of activities. They have transportation, breakfast, laundry, doctor and programs throughout the week. "

"My father is a patient at The Skilled Rehab Nursing Facility. It's a nice small center. My father has received great care and his getting stronger after his stroke. He gets to make choices on his meals which he really likes; and if he doesn't like what is being served they have alternate choices. Friendly and helpful staff. Erin K. the Admission Director is wonderful; she returns calls promptly when i have left messages. "

"I visited the independent living community of Vita Luxury Apartments on Grant. The appearance is fine. They have a great entrance going into it. I've been there thrice, and I didn't see any outstanding issues at all. The person who accommodated me during the tour was helpful with whatever questions I came up with. There wasn't too much of a wait, and he's also dealing with my application at the moment. I was looking for a pet-friendly place, and they are a pet-friendly place. I saw that they also have a small gym and a swimming pool. It's independent living, so you prepare your own food. It's a fairly new facility, so most of their stuff is basically new or just a couple of years old."

"Assisted Living at Hartsfield Village is a nice place. It's beautiful and had a lot of nice people and a lot of things going on, but yet, when I went in the door, it wasn't as warm and caring. They offer fine dining, you have your own nice little room, and there were just a couple of activities they could be doing. It was a very nice-looking place to pull up to. "

"A few times we've been at Wittenberg, and the staff was pretty helpful. It's a pretty nice place. I saw their dining room, and it is really nice too. With their activities, I know she goes to bingo and stuff. The place seems to be secured and safe. "

"Village Woods is set on a beautiful property overlooking Balmoral Woods Golf Course. Eating meals in the main dining room is an extra treat as you feel like you are staying at a resort. Mom is on an assisted living floor and she enjoys her private room. The aides and nurse come in quickly when mom rings for one, and being a fall risk, that is very comforting to know that she has that support. She loves the special entertainment and treats that happen often. She also loves the Catholic Mass once a month (pre COVID19) and looks forward to getting back to that as well as the “beauty shop” once allowed again. She also loves “working out on the gym” with Bailey. We have noticed improvement in her stability when standing, and that can primarily be attributed to her fitness program. With COVID restrictions, it is a bit isolating for Mom and her fellow residents but we understand that it remains COVID FREE and we attribute that to the professionalism of the leadership and staff. I would recommend anyone interested in an independent living or assisted living facility to consider Village Woods."

"My mother will be moving into Kirby Manor Apartments. It's a senior community but it's not assisted living. It's independent living. My mom currently is living off of Social Security only, so it's based on your income and it's very reasonable. It is an independent living, so you have to be able to provide for yourself. Even though it is a community of seniors of 55 and over, you still have to be able to clean and bathe yourself. They have daily activities. It is two floors, so there is a laundry facility on both floors. They have a treadmill and exercise bikes and stuff like that. They have a small facility room for that. They have a reading room, a puzzle room, and their actual dining room. They can either dine with other people or they can dine in their own apartment. They serve you and they have a menu there. They have a chef on-hand that does the catering there. They had one-bedroom and two-bedroom, and we looked at both. The one-bedroom was very adequate. There's plenty of room. It has a kitchenette that goes into the living room, and the bathroom is wide enough. They had a closet space and it's perfect for independent living. Those that don't want to be a burden on their family but want to be able to live by themselves, it's perfect for that. They have haircutting once a month. Somebody from the outside comes and they set up for haircut appointments. They had an outdoor area and a little patio terrace that looked very cute. As far as cleanliness, it was pretty well kept. It's a little older, but it was still clean. The lady during the tour was very friendly and very informative. The maintenance guy was very upbeat and friendly. It's an older facility, but there was no chipping paint or anything like that."

"Lake Park Senior Apartments was very nice. Everything was updated and it was decorated very nicely. I got to see a room and it was beautiful. They also had like a separate villa on the property (several of them). The villas were beautiful, too. The property manager I met was excellent. They also had activities."

"I like Victory Centre also. The staff was very attentive and pleasant, and I like the location. The only thing is that they were near the River Oaks shopping mall, and I don’t want to be that close. Other than that, the location was fine, and the people were very nice. The rooms were of nice size with large bathrooms. "

Lester's place is located in East Chicago Indiana. The property is a 5-unit apartment building with 2 levels of stairs. The property is newly remolded. Each united is fully furnished with all utilities paid. The bedrooms are shared living with 2 people per room. There is a total of 11 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms on the property. There is a TV in the living room that has streaming channels for our guests. There is free Wifi for guests to log into. We supply bedding for our guests who require assistance. The property is close to restaurants, and bus transportation. The property is 25 minutes from downtown Chicago. The units are professionally cleaned once a month.
