"Four words describe Majestic Care: 1. Friendliness-From the moment we toured the place, we were greeted by friendly faces: Danny, the marketing director, the receptionist Sheila, Paul the maintenance worker, activities director Sheila, nurses and CNA’s, and the residents. 2. Fabulous- As in fabulous food: Food is so important to my mom. She absolutely loves the food and guarantee you’ll smell the deliciousness in the hallways! 3. Fair- As in fair pricing: I toured many assisted living places in my area to find the perfect one. We definitely found it at St. Anthony Majestic Care. 4. Feels- As in feels like home: St Anthony is clean, neat, and fresh looking. It feels safe and secure as well. My mother is blessed to have an entourage of family and friends that visit often. We are all very happy with our choice to place our mom at St. Anthony Majestic Care. It has helped to make this pivotal time in our mom’s life a smooth and easy transition. "Marian Village seems like a very good value; a lot is included. This one is run by the Franciscan Community. It's got everything we wanted for mom, especially the washer and dryer in the unit. She doesn't have to walk down the hall, and find out that the washers and dryers are busy and go back to her room. It was a good selling point there. Everything was nice and clean. All the meals were included. She's happy about having a bank onsite, a beauty shop, and a beauty salon there. The elevators and everything are more conveniently placed, and it is easier to move around than some other places. Everything was pretty straightforward. I toured the place first, and then my sister and I took my mom another time to check everything over again. They had a unit that would just be perfect for her. It was a 1-bedroom with a small bedroom/den so you could use it as a small bedroom or as a den. It was perfect. The unit she'll be moving into is close to the elevators, which is great for her. We found that some of the other places charge more the closer you were to the elevators. It was nice that they didn't charge more just because you were closer to the elevators. They have nice safety features and everything. It was important for her to be at a community where there was a church or a chapel. She's going into an independent living apartment, but there is always an ala carte menu. Just in case she likes a little help, maybe with dressing every day or showers every day. You can order that separately. Once we find that she need more services than we realized, she gets the first choice of moving into the wing where it's assisted living rather than someone who's just coming from the outside. She would already be a resident there, so she would get first choice. So overall, it would work perfectly for us. She gets all the safety measures, and she would be wearing a bracelet. If something happened, she could push the button. They would come running to help her. There's also some kind of monitor in the middle of the apartment, so if there was no movement after a while they would check on her. We saw the residents there, and everyone was friendly. I talked to many residents there on my visits asking them how they liked it, and they all loved it in every way. So that's really nice. We feel really comfortable about that. Their facility sits back farther from Route 7. They own a lot of land, so they could still expand even more. They have the option of building more as they need. My husband and I decided that if the day comes, we would love to live there. They have a cottage. They have garden homes for couples or people who still want to manage their own home with their car and garage. You could live in an apartment where you don't ever have to walk outside. They told us that if we would like to sit in the dining room and eat at some point with our mom, we could call and set a time so that they could have us come in there."

"We went to look at Franciscan Village. They showed us the cottages or homes. It was very nice. It's religious or Catholic-oriented, which was a plus for us. The location for us is probably not good because we're further away from our family. The staff was very informative. The structure was very clean and up-to-date. They had a place to walk with the stations of the cross. The unit that the staff showed us was an individual little home, where one side was a parking lot and the other side was an open field."

"I will be moving into Cantata Adult Life Services. I know I'm eventually going to need more care, so that's one of the reasons why we chose this place is because it does have different levels of care. I can have care until I die without moving anywhere else, and that's very important. There wasn't anything I didn't like about it. Everyone I've met so far has been friendly and very helpful. The rooms in assisted living were pretty good sized. They had 3 different options in assisted living, and I went for a studio. There was a kitchenette in the room, and the bathroom had a step-in shower, which was incredibly important for me. The room itself was a good size for one person. They had 1-bedroom apartments and 2-bedroom units as well. It was a rather small community, so people got to know each other very well. They had a lot of activities. I met one of the activity directors and he was asking me about some things I'd like to do. When I told him I play mahjong, he said he didn't know anybody else who did, but I could teach people how to play mahjong and start a group. They would take you shopping once a week. The food was delicious. They call their dining area a restaurant, and it very much is. We had a waiter come to the table. There were a couple of specials for each meal, but they also had quite a comprehensive menu that you can order from if you don't want the specials."

"My mom had fallen and fractured her hip, she had surgery, and so we decided to put her in Symphony of Dyer for more rehab. It was pretty good, but my mom didn't last there long. She passed away, but the short amount of time that she was there, it was satisfactory. The staff was friendly and available. My mom had to have the pureed food. The place was very nice and clean. The outside looked very nice. I liked the way it was. It was a good location because we had one sister that lived close to Dyer. It was a nice area."
