I was looking for a facility for my friend who I wanted to be located close to my house. Rob and Audra were so very thoughtful, caring and helpful in allowing us to put our dear friend in the facility so he would be close to us. I cannot say enough about the staff that took care of him. EXCEPTIONAL. Our friend was happy on his last days on this earth. He smiled every time one of the staff members entered his room. He constantly told us about the great people and service he was receiving. I could keep going but I think you get the idea, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE!!!!!!

Health & Wellness
Your loved ones health and safety is our top priority at Fair Oaks. Learn more about our residential care services below.
Licensed Nurse Service
A licensed nurse is on staff from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday-Friday to offer care for our residents. The nurse is also on call 24 hours a day for emergencies.
Residential Care Aide (RCA) Service
Fair Oaks residents are offered Residential Care Aide (RCA) services in their private one or two-room suites. This allows for greater independence while also providing the care the resident may need for their daily tasks of living. Families will have a greater peace of mind knowing their loved ones are being given the care they need in a private setting.
Each resident will have a Resident Assessment Support Plan (RASP) created by our residential care services staff members in conjunction with the resident and their family members. RCAs provide care for the residents throughout the day, including escort service, assistance with bathing, personal grooming, dressing, and bed making. RCAs also prepare laundry for pickup, empty trash, and provide light housekeeping.
Medication Distribution Service
A trained professional (med-tech) will order, chart, pour, and distribute all medications. The med-tech works directly with the doctor and pharmacists acting on behalf of the resident receiving the service. Fair Oaks of Pittsburgh's preferred provider is Johnsons Pharmaceutical Services.
Rehabilitation Service
Located on the lower level of the living facility, Fair Oaks leases space to Fox Rehab Services to provide on-site rehab for speech, physical, and occupational therapy.
Transportation
To provide our residents with a true independent senior living experience, transportation is provided by Fair Oaks of Pittsburgh through ACCESS, a coordinated, shared-ride paratransit service, for all residents at no additional cost. Health Services can provide an aide to escort residents to appointments for a fee.

I lived there for six months following a stroke. I was grossly overcharged for my medications, which were not given to me per my doctor's directions. The meals were unhealthy and had little taste or were way too spicy for elderly people. They were too high in fat, salt and sugar. Calls for help went unanswered for hours. Staff was pleasant but not well trained. Complaints to administrators were not addressed. When blood work was ordered results were not sent to doctor. It's a sad lonely place.

Staff and Administration are not good. Sales and Marketing , Administrator and Nursing always made false promises. Stay away! Buyer Beware!

I toured Fair Oaks Senior Living. It was very nice. The staff was very good, and everything was nice and clean. They clean your apartment or your studio, and they do a lot of laundry. It seems to be ideal for me. The staff were all very nice, very helpful, and informed, and that's why I decided I wanted to go there. I had gone there twice, and we had food the first time. It was tasty. I find it difficult to say anything bad about anything. Everything seemed to be working very well. They're also doing some upgrading. The salon opens twice a week. They're putting in a gym and they're putting gardens on the outside. It suits me. Plus, it's not that I would have to stay there continually. They told me that if I want to leave, I can. So, it seemed very good for my purposes.

We were very impressed with them and they were my next choice. The guy there really gave me a whole bunch of information upfront, gave me the tour and the pricelist. He was really good. I liked Chris, who sat down with me and talked with me for like half an hour before we even got a tour, about how the process worked. I was told exactly what amenities, the services they provided, and the levels of care. It was a really good meeting, I got a good tour, and the facilities look nice. I got a whole tour, so they showed me the memory unit on the 3rd floor and also the personal care. He showed me the menu and gave me a list of activities on the calendar. There were some nice little nooks and crannies and rooms that people can hang out in with books. They have a newsletter every week with things that are happening, I was impressed. Their rooms look very nice, they had mostly nice studio apartments, and some double rooms that were also nice.

It is a fantastic place. They serve three meals a day. For breakfast, you can order what you like, and they will make it for you. For the two other meals, you have two or three choices for each meal. I had eaten there, and the food was very good. My mother has gotten involved in some of their activities, like bingo. The rooms are very homey and completely furnished with kitchenette, microwave, refrigerator, couch, and chair. Mom's room is very roomy for one person.

The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. Delicious food and lots of activities. There is a computer center, a hair salon, a craft center, exercise room, chapel, lovely dining room, etc. Quality care- I highly recommend.
