"Village Park Alpharetta would have been my second choice. However, my kids would be unhappy because it was a little far from them. They were super nice, though. It had everything. It had a pool. It was super awesome. The people were really friendly. It was just really amazing. It was beautiful. They were adding on, and they had such a big crowd of people. Everybody was really nice and kind. It was great. I would have gone there very easily, but my son was like, "It was too far, Mom!" I guess he's right. The staff was wonderful. We had a luncheon there, and it was amazing. It was great. They gave us a menu and said, "Pick anything you want," and I was looking at it, and it was 'Wow!' I had a hamburger, and it was great. The place was spotless. It was beautiful. Because they had filled up the other area, we were going to be in a brand new area, and it was really pretty. Our unit would have looked out over a garden kind of thing."

"I'm moving there probably in October. It's small and very friendly. The layout was efficient and easy to maneuver. Utilities, meals, trash service, linen service, beauty parlor, all kinds of activities are included. They have exercise, art, church, outings, and they provide transportation."

"We have visited the Parc at Piedmont, and we liked this facility very much. It's a beautiful facility, and everybody is very friendly. The food is delicious, and the activity seemed to be well run. If my parents would need a facility, we are hoping that they will be able to live there. We had them on their waiting list. Their rooms are very nice, and their common room looked very comfortable as well. With their activities, I know my mother would love them. Their activities seemed appropriate and stimulating for the residents to keep them as active for as long as possible. They have sing alongs, Bible studies, and outings. "

"My mom was a resident of Holly House for 8 years until she passed away a year and a half ago. There are just 6 people in the care home. The facility was like a ranch style home with a home-like environment. The caretaker is 24/7, meals are always prepared, medicines always dispensed and the washing, cleaning and caretaking of the individuals were always good. The home was clean as well. I have eaten there on special occasions too. They had some activities coordinator come by and do different games and arts and crafts. They also had a minister come by. I had no complaints during the eight years my mom was there. "

"I visited this community yesterday. I must say, once I walked in the door, I felt at home. It smelled nice, had beautiful music playing, was very clean, and most importantly the staff was very welcoming. I would highly recommend this community for your loved one. And I'm a tough cookie!!!"

"I toured Ashwood Meadows Gracious Retirement Living. They were very friendly. The woman who was in charge there just took me on tour. We went around. I had several questions. One of the things wherever I move, I do want them to have a pool table. They've got a library. They've got a garden at the back. She showed me a nice two bedroom, which is what I'm looking for. She took me through the whole place. I had lunch with them. They had Asian food. It was the best beef and broccoli I have ever put in my mouth. I don't know what she did but the meat was fantastic. I was impressed with the way the building was laid out. It's nice. It has kind of an atrium through the center. They have pretty much anything you want even to cover parking if you want to pay for that. It's my opinion that they're all about the same price. It's also my opinion that they're a little expensive for a two-bedroom. Everybody spoke. I mean, everybody from the guy that was doing the paving outside to the maintenance. They've got a happy hour on Friday. They have a bar there that works for me."

"Belmont Village Johns Creek was a nice place and the room I saw was a pretty nice size. The road is out of the way and the area is very quiet. The staff was very friendly and very nice to work with."

"My parents moved to Parc at Duluth last weekend. They have been WONDERFUL to us! This is a beautiful independent living facility with the best food I tasted in my many trips to visit facilities in the area. The activities are terrific, the people are friendly, the staff is EXCEPTIONAL and the cost is quite affordable for everything you receive and the quality. I am so happy with this choice and feel so comfortable that my parents are in a safe, friendly, caring environment to enjoy their life. Definitely make this a community to visit if you are looking in the NE Atlanta area. "

"The best thing about Celebration Village Forsyth is they welcomed me the minute I got there and they allowed my aunt to bring her cat. That was a special need for her. They treated us like individuals and it was just unbelievable that they would do something like that to help us. Lauren and Michael have been fantastic. The memory care facility she moved into looks beautiful. They have a lovely dining room. The food is fantastic. The rooms are beautiful. They entertain them the entire day. They keep them busy with activities, events, and parties, and they can garden if they want to."

"We toured Canterfield of Kennesaw. My mother-in-law just liked it. When she walked in, she said she felt like she was at home. She felt good. She just has a feeling, and like the other place she didn't care for, but the Canterfield, when she walked in, she said, "Oh, I like this place." It was nice. The people were very friendly. The room was lovely, and they all had things to do, so we liked it. They had movies every day. They have bingo, puzzle time, and games. They have an arts and crafts room, happy hour, and trivia. They have a daily workout. They take a trip to Walmart. You can just sign up, and they'll take you shopping. Then they have church services for a couple of different denominations. They have a library, a puzzle room, a barber, and a beauty shop."

"I would give Towne Club Windermere a five all the way around. That was my favorite place, but it is set up more like an apartment building. It's a tower and you had to get on an elevator, and Mom wasn't comfortable with that, but the rooms were fantastic. They were like regular-size apartments. They have a beautiful pool, a garden area, a movie room, a hair salon, and tour buses that would take you to the grocery stores and stuff. Any amenity that you could think of they had there. They did social hour; you come down in the main room and have appetizers and things like that. They go from independent living all the way to memory care. The staff during the tour was very, very attentive. She showed us several different sized rooms and she gave us the pricing. She made sure that we had all the meals. She let us taste the meals, which were very, very good. She took us around. She was very patient with Mom and Dad. We actually sat down around the pool with some of the people there, and we were able to talk to the residents there, ones that were in wheelchair and ones that were a little bit more independent. My concern then at that point in time was finding a place for both my Mom and Pop and Pop to be more active. The staff introduced Pop to some of the guys there that still play golf and things like that, so he really felt comfortable there. It was Mom that was not at the time, that's why we didn't do so. We actually were there three times and we signed a contract with them twice. Mom just didn't think she could do that elevator. She didn't feel comfortable with it."

"I have been at the Lodge for two years. This place has change managers and staff so frequently it’s hard to keep up. They don’t pay their bills. They have roof leaks and the roof is covered with a tarp. The pool is never open and not maintained. The activities are always cancelled. The rooms are spacious and the residents are great. The food is great. But this place needs a new manager and management. They have destroyed a beautiful place."

"We chose The Holbrook Decatur for my father, but because of the current situation it's still closed. The staff is very professional and it's a nice place to live. The people who work there interacts, even when my sister and I just went there to walk around, the people we met were very nice and very happy to be there. I watched the staff talk to the residents and they know them well; it's a good feeling. They have aerobics class and people who work there would join in too, which is nice. We saw a beautiful pool for water aerobics which was easy to get into. There's also a pool where you get lowered into a pool and you walk into a treadmill, and we saw people there with one helper assisting each person there. My father's room is about 600 square feet with a nice size living room, nice size bathroom, and the kitchen is a little small but he's not going to be cooking there. His little kitchen has everything but a stove, and you can bring a microwave to cook on if you want to. But three meals are included, there's also a bistro, and you can get a snack any time you want to. You can just walk into the shower, you don't have to step up into anything, there's plenty of storage in the shower and there's also a bench. It met the chef, the food sounds very good because the people were complimentary."
