Adult Day Care Communities in Roswell, GA

"Summerset Assisted Living was a very nice place. The way they made the facility look is like everything is antique. The items that are in it are not modern, but when I say antique it's not run down either. It's a real nice, antique-looking place. I found out that it is actually Black-owned, and they are the only Black-owned assisted living facility in the nation. This is also a gated community. We did not go look at the rooms because they said that they will not be able to assist us as Mom is not mobile, but they were the ones who geared us in the right direction and told us, "Look, this is what you need to look for. This is what you need to ask for." Even after they found out information about my mom, they weren't like, "Get out." They were like, "Hold on. Let's discuss. This is what you need to look for. These are some places that you can call." They knew of other places for me to call, and even had business cards."

"I had the opportunity to bring my mom and dad for day services. The staff were great with both of them. They had different activities throughout the day. They were able to spend plenty of time and not rush anyone while still providing excellent personal care on an individual level. The staff were very kind and really knew what they were doing. I was not the lease bit worried about leaving my parents with them. "

"I have my husband at Skylark Adult Day Center of Cobb two days a week. So far, it's fine. Every month they put out a calendar of events, they feed them breakfast, lunch, and a snack, they take people offsite for exercises, they have an art program, there's an outdoor area for people who like gardening, and after snack they have discussion time and quiet time where they can watch television. They try to keep people engaged and have activities planned for them. There are special days where they celebrate birthdays. My concern with my husband is that he requires somebody to watch him and be there with him because he has had several strokes, so he's a high risk for falling. When I came to pick him up today, the nurse was leaving as I was coming in. She let me in, but my husband was walking by himself, coming to the door to meet me. The attendant was on the phone in a separate room behind glass where she could see him. During normal hours, from 9:00 until 3:00, it's fully staffed. They have a lot of staff for the attendants, but it was 4:30 when I picked him up. It appeared that everybody had left and so people were sitting in chairs waiting for their families to pick them up. The first time I left him there, he tried to get up and he fell over with the chair and everything else. During the primary hours, they have a good staff to attendee ratio. The staff is very caring, and the facility is clean."

"If you have a loved one in need of an adult daycare program I highly recommend Peachtree Christian Health in Duluth, Georgia. It serves adults of all ages with dementia or other health impairments, and provides a safe, caring and engaging environment. My mom looks forward to attending each day (Monday - Friday) and comes home more alert and happy. They have meaningful activities all day beginning at 9:30 to 5:00 and are served a healthy breakfast, lunch and snack. I am personally thrilled and grateful to have found a reliable and supportive program with compassionate staff and volunteers!"
