"Sunrise of Morris Plains was a beautiful facility. The person that met us was extremely helpful and gave us a lot of good information that helped us make a decision. She was very upfront about the cost and the amenities. It was really a very good experience. Everything was spotless. The dining facility looked like a small restaurant. The residents that we saw as we were taking the tour all seemed very engaged. There was a whole host of activities posted on a large community board and there were three or four things going on everyday. There were a lot of things for people to choose from to do. "

"My mother is here. We chose it because it was a beautiful place, like a resort. It's very nice. She gets assistance with bathing. Her medication is given to her, so she doesn't have to worry about her own schedule. The staff is very helpful. I don't see everything that they do, but my mother likes it there. She doesn't get involved in them, but they have all kinds of activities. They have people come in and entertain. They have games. They have happy hour, and they have a theater. The facility is very clean and homey. They don't take any kind of Medicaid, so I'm running out of money really fast. They take people out on excursions and shopping trips. They have a mini bus to take them out like to lunch. It's good for anybody who can afford to live there."

"I'm hoping to keep my mom at Careone at Parsippany. She's in the skilled nursing facility now, but they have memory care and hospice, it's just that she really can't afford it. They've been great, the physical therapist did wonderful there for her. The staff is wonderful and well organized. They have the aides, nurses, the chain of command kind of thing, and LPNS. If they have anything to improve, I would say to have more staff, but that's because of the COVID thing and they encourage people to stay home if they're not feeling well. My mother loves the food. They do games, they do exercises and they have different movies that they put on a closed-circuit movie channel for them. They keep everything very clean. Insurance is covering her right now. If she had the money, I would keep her there for sure."

"My grandfather has been a resident for the past year. I am extremely happy with the staff as they treat my grandfather as family. The facility is clean and has a cozy home like setting. I can see the difference in my grandfather as he is participating with others and joins in activities daily. "

"I liked Mira Vie at Montville very much out of all the ones that I've seen. It was very warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly and it pretty much had everything that my mom would need. The facilities were very, very clean. It's not a brand new facility but everything seems to be well-maintained and very spacious. The lady who gave the tour was very good, too."

"I went to The Carlucci Home - Assisted Living for Ladies. The staff is absolutely lovely. I was there for about an hour. They are very, very competent people. The food is excellent. I would eat the food. The place is very clean. They have tons of activities. I saw pictures with different groups from the neighborhood, like Girl Scouts come in, Boy Scouts come in, other groups during holidays, they have a lot. They have a full agenda that is clearly visible. The room settings, I guess you could get a studio or a separate room, but the room that I was trying to get for my friend is two bedrooms, and so you have a roommate. You don't have to have a roommate. I thought it was super good, very good, and to add to that, they have advanced skilled care, like say if you need for whatever reason more help than assisted living. Assisted living is basically they're providing you meals, helping you with what you need, but if you get a little stick or something like that, or maybe can't do what you normally do, then they are qualified to help to do that. They have a nurse on staff. They have a social worker right there. Everything is right there. I thought that was ideal, but she didn't want to pay that much money, which I thought was fair. But she didn't want to pay that amount of money, but it was like I thought that was the best place that I visited."

"Sycamore Living is brand new. It just opened in the spring. It's on the small side, but I don't know how many residents they have, I think it's under 50. It's modern and clean. My mother's been there for 2-1/2 weeks now. The staff is very informative, and they've been calling and keeping us posted on how my mother's doing, so the communication is very good. I guess the food is fine; I haven't heard any complaints. I like it. It's very open. My mother's in a private room, but I would know better if I was able to visit her and I was walking in the hallway. I only had a tour of the facility, so it's hard to say. It just looked very nice. It was an office building that was reconfigured to make it into a nursing home or whatever you call these facilities. They have assisted living, long-term care, and rehab. It's a large building, and it's brand new."

"Sunrise was OK. The rooms were a little bigger. The staff was very good. The dining area is very nice but I wasn’t able to try the food. The residents were an older group and seemed complacent. "

"I visited the information center after hearing about this lovely place from a friend. This is exactly what I had been looking for, but more beautiful than I could have imagined. The apartments are spacious and the amenities and grounds are gorgeous. The staff is wonderful and so helpful. "

"I visited Brookdale Florham Park. They gave a great tour. We didn't feel rushed. We felt like we had all of our questions answered. One of the residents actually made a point of asking to speak with us privately, so he could tell us, from a resident's perspective, what it was like to live there and that was a really nice touch. They have gathering spaces and they have activities, and all the meals are provided. What I liked about Brookdale was it was a little bit smaller. It wasn't as new as some of the other facilities, but it was clean and well appointed. Other residents just spontaneously, as we walked around and toured, would say how much they liked it there and what a great place it was. That was really reassuring and comforting. They also had several options of either a studio or a one-bedroom. The lady who toured us made sure that we saw several different options of where my mom could stay or how we could do it. That was really helpful, too, to be able to kind of envision my mom being there. They had outdoor spaces and a small refrigerator in the apartment."

"I visited Brighton Gardens of Florham Park for my dad. The staff was wonderful. It was very clean, very professional, and it looked fantastic. They are new. Their staff seemed really great and really warm. They went out of their way to introduce themselves and ask genuine questions; they seemed really thoughtful."

"I went and looked at Sunrise of Wayne. It was very homey, which is something my mom would like. The rooms themselves were ample enough. I would never put my mom in a studio because that would be too cramping. But I like the one-bedroom. The people there were very nice. The fact that they are pet-friendly was nice. They have a couple of cats that live there, which my mother personally would enjoy. Some people may not, but she would enjoy that. There was a refrigerator and a small microwave. There was a sink. I don't think there was a stove, but my mom wouldn't need that anyway in assisted living. The room was ample enough that we could put a small table and chairs in there if I wanted to. The staff who toured me was very good. They were very welcoming. They offered me a pie. They were doing improvements but everything there was very clean and very homey, which was something that I liked."
