"Braemar Living at Wallkill was relatively quiet and peaceful. I felt a sense of calm. I loved the building itself. It had patios all around where people can sit outside and look out. Everything was clean. The rooms were very big, pristine, and clean. There were many activity rooms. There is a chapel and a lunchroom. They had another area where the residents can go and have snacks if they wish. If there was a resident who wasn't feeling that well and didn't want to eat for the day or something, they would immediately get medical attention because they have to eat. They were taking very good care of them. I loved their room setup there. They had the individual room and then they had a double room, and that setup was great. The staff was very kind, endearing, and concerned. I noticed the interaction between the staff and the residents, and they gave the residents immediate one-on-one attention, be it for a moment or a little more. They were very caring staff. It's a very nice location and they're not very far from the hospital. It's within five minutes."

"My friend is a resident of Bentley Assisted Living at Branchville, and that's a wonderful place. My friend's room is wonderful. The staff there is great. They have a lot of activities for the residents. The food there is wonderful. I haven't seen anything bad about it. The facility is very nice and clean. There is parking available for residents who have cars. It looks like a great place. They have bingo, exercise, and they take them out shopping at least once a week."

"My wife was in Barn Hill, and I would say it was a nice place. I thought the care was very good. They even greeted me like an old friend. I liked it. She was in the Alzheimer's section, and they take care of them great. They had a movie almost every day, and when they didn't have a movie, they played games, they had a little activity going on, and we know that most Alzheimer's patients can't do everything. I thought it was a section that was specialized for Alzheimer's or people like that, and it was very good. They don't let them walk alone; the staff there was excellent. It seemed like an older facility. I think it was a nice clean place even as the older section. Anything that was dropped on the floor was quickly picked up; it was clean. Everything seemed to be in order, great. It was good. "

"My dad loved living at Merriam Manor, he was there for 2 years. The staff is caring, concerned, and helps with all duties of daily living. The food is good, home made meals, vegetables, fruit, puddings, roasts, mashed potatoes.The activity includes bingo, karaoke, cards, bouncing a ball. The rooms are very clean, some have stained glass, marble fireplace, high ceilings, wood floors. The family room is nice with large furniture and a large flat screen TV, book shelves. You feel like living at home, not a facility."

"I am a resident of United Methodist Communities at Bristol Glen. The residents are lovely. It's very clean and very well taken care of. There's a library, a gift shop, and a store. We do have dinner, and it's okay. I have a two-bedroom, a balcony, a living room, a den, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The activities are fair."

"What I liked the most about Westwind Manor was the personal attention given to each family. My uncle stayed there before and his room was spacious, clean, very welcoming, and homey. The staff was very professional and intuitive. They were also extremely friendly and kind. They had many activities like music, crafts, and celebrations. They provided well-balanced homemade meals too."

"My family member was just admitted and I have to say the process was so smooth and professional. Major shout out to Carolyn who worked with me for over a week to get everything handled. She added such a personal and professional touch during what can be an unsettling time. She really went the extra mile to make both my family member and me feel at ease and in good hands. Thank you Carolyn and all the staff we met during admission."

"I toured Colonial Manor At Panther Valley. They have cottages. The one that I visited was undergoing renovation. I was told that whenever someone passes away or decides to move out, they redo the interior of the whole cottage. And this particular cottage was getting a new washer-dryer combination, a new sink, a new stove, and a new refrigerator. The bedroom is very large. It has decent two closets. The front living room is also large. It looks out to the pond behind the cottage. There's nothing old in that particular cottage. The carpeting looks to be brand new. The staff who gave the tour was very good. She was not the person that I had agreed to meet at 1:00, and so this other woman took me around. We had nice conversations. It was just very pleasant. The grounds were very nice. Everything seemed neat and clean. I talked with the woman that was sitting there in the lobby and she seemed very relaxed and very pleasant. It was an enjoyable visit. It was worthwhile that I got a chance to look at it."

"My tour at Mt. Arlington Senior Living was good; they just couldn't accommodate my father. They showed us the memory care. It's hard for them to adjust to someone with Alzheimer's who is mobile. It was a beautiful facility. The people were nice. They sat down and explained to us how they work, how to pay, how they get the medication, and do all that stuff. They showed us where he'd be staying, the dining room, and the lounge area. At this point, it was a shared room because we were just putting him in there temporarily. They would have freedom to roam. They had their own balconies where they could go out and get some sunshine, and also sit down. They had a lounge where they could sit down and watch TV and congregate to the best of their ability. Everybody was very nice. The meal that they gave us was good."

"What a great experience we had at F.M. I can't believe the reviews I saw on here, I experienced none of this. Great place, friendly and clean. Highly recommended. "

"My dad moved to Twin Cedar Senior Living. The place is small. It's not very big. It may have 30 people in it. It's out in the country, and it's a nice place. Their nurses are nice. Their staff is nice. He shares a room with someone, but all they do is sleep in there. They have a big spot where they all go to watch TV. They have an indoor bird sanctuary thing. They have a movie room. They have a patio where they can go out and sit. It's nice and it's close to my house, so I could go there and take him out for dinner if I want, or I could take him for the weekend and then bring him back. My dad says the food is good. They serve him food, dinner, and then they serve him dessert and everything like that. The facility is very clean. The bathrooms could be a little bit nicer and a little bit cleaner. Their sink and stuff are older, and their showers are older, but it seems okay. They're not expensive."

"I went to The Carlucci Home - Assisted Living for Ladies. The staff is absolutely lovely. I was there for about an hour. They are very, very competent people. The food is excellent. I would eat the food. The place is very clean. They have tons of activities. I saw pictures with different groups from the neighborhood, like Girl Scouts come in, Boy Scouts come in, other groups during holidays, they have a lot. They have a full agenda that is clearly visible. The room settings, I guess you could get a studio or a separate room, but the room that I was trying to get for my friend is two bedrooms, and so you have a roommate. You don't have to have a roommate. I thought it was super good, very good, and to add to that, they have advanced skilled care, like say if you need for whatever reason more help than assisted living. Assisted living is basically they're providing you meals, helping you with what you need, but if you get a little stick or something like that, or maybe can't do what you normally do, then they are qualified to help to do that. They have a nurse on staff. They have a social worker right there. Everything is right there. I thought that was ideal, but she didn't want to pay that much money, which I thought was fair. But she didn't want to pay that amount of money, but it was like I thought that was the best place that I visited."

"I would like to thank the Dining Services Manager and staff at House of the Good Shepherd –for creating a wonderful luncheon for our family recently. My Mother is a resident of HOTGS and we wanted to get her together with her cousins (both over 90 years of age and mobility restricted) Dining Services set up a beautiful private area in the Lodge (Dining Room), overlooking the River Walk, where our family enjoyed a delicious stress free luncheon buffet. There was plenty of room to maneuver the walkers and wheel chairs around the table, and the entire family had a very relaxing, happy afternoon….. along with plenty of rave reviews from our guests ! "

"Merry Heart is staffed with the most lovely, compassionate and personal caregivers I have experienced! My Mom is so well loved and cared for each day that I have no concerns or worries. When things come us they are quick to call us to inform us of any concerns they have or changes they are suggesting. My Mom lights up each time they they give her a hug or laugh at her silly jokes. I really have come to feel like they are all a part of Mom's extended family! Love this place! "
