"I couldn’t be more impressed with my experience at The Sentinel of Port Jervis. I have been looking for quite some time for the perfect place for my grandmother. Sadly, not one facility I visited was even close to being qualified, prepared or motivated to care for others... until I visited The Sentinel of Port Jervis. I was greeted with welcoming smiles, caring hearts and a true passion for wanting to help my grandmother. To my great surprise, I was given a tour by the Executive Director Lisa. I have never been to any facility that the actual Executive Director gives a tour. This Director was I’m sure so busy and preoccupied with executive duties and she didn’t blink for a second about giving me my very own tour with her. My tour with Lisa was beyond all of my expectations. The facility was immaculate. The staff was warm and embracing. Just being there gave me a sense of calm knowing my grandma would receive the very best of care. There is no other place I would ever recommend to bring your loved ones to other than The Sentinel of Port Jervis. It is here that those closest to you will receive the most loving, attentive and devoted care. In the hands of the staff at this facility, all of my worries have disappeared and my heart is filled with joy that my grandma is in the right hands. Thank you Lisa and your staff for making this the most positive, happy experience!"

"My mom has been a resident at Bentley of Branchville for a year now and I have to say it has been a wonderful experience. The staff are friendly and caring. The setting is high on a hill in beautiful Sussex County. Inside it is kept very clean and the dining area looks like a beautiful restaurant dining room complete with tall windows and a large fireplace. Many activities to choose from. Beautiful community areas to watch tv or sit and read a book! All of the staff are very accessible, including the Administrator, should you have any questions. The most important thing is that my mom feels safe and content there! Best decision we made together! Please come and see; you won't be disappointed! "

"What I like best about The Carlucci Home-Assisted Living for Ladies is it's a home setting. There's not a commercial flavor to it. It's a regular home. It was extremely nice. It's great. The rooms were comfortable. I spoke to the owner of the company and she's very understanding."

"My mother has been a resident for one year after suffering from a stroke. The majority of the aides taking care of her have been wonderful. The activity director does her best to engage residents in various activities. I do find the people in the social worker office difficult to reach and it requires some effort to keep on top of things. "

"My dad loved living at Merriam Manor, he was there for 2 years. The staff is caring, concerned, and helps with all duties of daily living. The food is good, home made meals, vegetables, fruit, puddings, roasts, mashed potatoes.The activity includes bingo, karaoke, cards, bouncing a ball. The rooms are very clean, some have stained glass, marble fireplace, high ceilings, wood floors. The family room is nice with large furniture and a large flat screen TV, book shelves. You feel like living at home, not a facility."

"We toured Westwind Manor, but since our visit, they built a brand-new facility, and we were not able to see that. The tour was very nice. It was small compared to the other places we've been, but it had a lot of one on one interactions with the residents, the faculty there was very informative, open, and it was a nice place. However, they did not transition, and she would have to leave the facility. They showed us all the rooms. There were two residents per room. It's clean, and it was a facility that we could see Mom be at that time."

"The Eliot at Erie Station houses only approximately 100 residents. They offer three meals a day, laundry washed and folded, room cleaned, and bed made every day. They have a chain of command for any complaints. The staff is really good, and I get my meds every day. They'd send somebody upstairs to get my meds to me if they forgot them. They're very good at what they do. They have a DJ, celebrate birthdays, and go to the Wal-Mart or the Rosemont. One of their cooks used to own a restaurant in Middletown, so the food is very good. They have three meals a day and also have what they call the country kitchen on each floor, and in between meals, they have coffee and snacks. Their staff is knowledgeable. This place is very good. They base the price more or less on your income to make sure that you've got money left for yourself. They charge one price for a double room if you want a roommate, one price for a single room, and one price for a single room with a bathroom, your own bathtub, and shower. They have anything you want. The people who work there are very nice and outgoing. They have a physical therapist who comes in and a doctor comes in once a week."

"Bethany Village is very friendly, clean, organized, and smells very good. I like it, and it's very nice. The rooms are beautiful, carpeted, and very clean, with nice windows and lovely bathrooms. They have exercise, crafts, music, and nice TV rooms. They have everything there for them. The dining room is very nice, and they have three meals per day. They serve mostly fresh food, but Mom's on a special diet. I am very happy with it. "

"Elant is top of the line among all of the facilities I visited. I would say that this place suits my brother's needs. If there's an opening, I would definitely take it in a minute. They have nurses, they have doctors and their facility is very clean. They have staff there all the time. They seemed very helpful. There are a lot, or shall I say enough staff there. It's more like a nursing home only that they have more staff yet the residents still have their freedom and independence. They get to have 3 meals a day and get help with help with their medicine too. I also looked at one of their rooms. It was very nice. This facility would be my first choice for my brother. "
