"We're happy with Twin Cedars Senior Living. Mom shares a very clean room with somebody else. They have a bunch of activities going on. Mom seems happy with the food, and she can have whatever she wants as long as she tells them in advance. There are books that they can read and a patio with some benches. The staff seems competent."

"Braemar at Wallkill is a beautiful place, and they actually had a separate dining room if you had a meal with friends which I thought was really nice. It would look like your dining room in a home. They had a bar for Happy Hour, it was fun, and they actually take 80 Medicaid beds, so that's why I went. The staff is very professional and helpful. They had a beautiful library and arts and crafts. "

"My friend is a resident of Arcadia Residence, and almost everybody is bunked down with two people two beds in a room, and a TV in there. Fortunately, she's been in there by herself, mostly for the last three or four months, because when she's not in there by herself and when there is a roommate, then she has no place to go to have a little peace. I see that they give her food every day, three meals, but it's not much. The food could be upgraded. There's not enough staff. There are a lot of people there, and there's only so much room in the place, and people are practically bumping into each other. The bathroom facilities are not enough. They've got too many people and too few of everything."

"I went to The Carlucci Home - Assisted Living for Ladies. The staff is absolutely lovely. I was there for about an hour. They are very, very competent people. The food is excellent. I would eat the food. The place is very clean. They have tons of activities. I saw pictures with different groups from the neighborhood, like Girl Scouts come in, Boy Scouts come in, other groups during holidays, they have a lot. They have a full agenda that is clearly visible. The room settings, I guess you could get a studio or a separate room, but the room that I was trying to get for my friend is two bedrooms, and so you have a roommate. You don't have to have a roommate. I thought it was super good, very good, and to add to that, they have advanced skilled care, like say if you need for whatever reason more help than assisted living. Assisted living is basically they're providing you meals, helping you with what you need, but if you get a little stick or something like that, or maybe can't do what you normally do, then they are qualified to help to do that. They have a nurse on staff. They have a social worker right there. Everything is right there. I thought that was ideal, but she didn't want to pay that much money, which I thought was fair. But she didn't want to pay that amount of money, but it was like I thought that was the best place that I visited."
