"My father moved in at Belle Reve Senior Living 3 months ago. I would say that this facility is probably one of the best that I've seen. There is a strong professional intentionality about the community. One of the things that I was hugely impressed with was everyone took great pains to learn my dad's name, and to find out what his preferences were. I'm even talking about snacks. The young lady who was running the snack cart, I bumped into her in the elevator, and I just happened to mention that my dad was moving in. She asked me what my dad's name is and asked what his favorite snacks are. And she said she'll make sure that they have it. This kind of service is consistent on all levels, whether it's medical care, an admin level, food service, or housekeeping, everybody makes an effort to know his name and what his preferences are. When I was moving some furniture in for Dad, the facilities guy went out of his way to help me move and to get things set up, and get Dad's TV connected. As I said, it's like that across the board. I probably can't say enough good stuff about them because they just really are that professional and that good. I've not eaten the food myself, but Dad loves it. They serve restaurant style. They do have a menu, and you do get to select your menu. When I brought Dad in, the food service guy came out to meet me, asked my dad's name, and asked what his favorite dish was and how he liked it prepared. What I have observed is that the food service staff bends over backward to provide what the resident wants. When a resident is done with a dish, just like in a restaurant, a waiter will come around and pick up your dish. They have got physical activities where there are exercises, bingo, talent nights, and a book club that they just started. Dad's been involved with that. One of the churches in the area is looking at setting up a Bible study there. They do have Sunday worship services that are non-denominational. They have outside events where they will go, like group trips to local restaurants and shopping. There's a shuttle that takes residents out into the community. Dad tells me there's always something going on daily, at least two a day. They are kept involved, engaged, and active with things that are intentional to support the memory skills and the cognitive skills of the residents to support them for as long as they possibly can. I've never seen any other facility put that much effort into their resident care and satisfaction. Dad tells me that he's never been told no on anything that he's asked for or any kind of accommodations he's asked for. "
