"My mother has been a resident for one year after suffering from a stroke. The majority of the aides taking care of her have been wonderful. The activity director does her best to engage residents in various activities. I do find the people in the social worker office difficult to reach and it requires some effort to keep on top of things. "

"We went to visit Andover Nursing Home. I saw that they have more clients, and it felt like a busier hospital for the elderly and for those who lost their memory. It had a very busy atmosphere in a pretty nice location, and they have everything locked in for lockdown so that nobody would just wander off, but they are able to go outside on the patio where they have picnic tables and grassy areas. Their dining hall is very nice. "

"My uncle is staying at Highland Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. I like them. They're reasonable people. I don't see anybody with an attitude, looking down at the patients, avoiding them, or such things. A lot of food is wasted because some people depend on their disposition that day. They may not eat, or they'll pick out a little bit. The facility is modern but not brand new or in good shape. I did not see messes or evidence of disregard for the facility by those responsible for maintaining it. It's not like every floor shined to a complete mirror finish every day, but it's clean. They potentially have some activities. I saw a crafts activity in a recreation area for a group, but at this point in their lives, they're not participating. We chose Highland Rehabilitation & Nursing Center because they have beds available, they would accept my uncle, and they could address his needs."

"I had to put my mom in nursing home when I lost her caregiver unexpectedly. Within 1 weeks time I was able to get her in long term care. She has dementia which made it difficult to care for her as I worked full time. Heather was very professional and compassionate. This was very difficult for me and emotional. The staff met my mom at the door very welcoming. My mom was happy which made me happy. Everything went so smoothly. I realize now this was the only place for her. My mom is getting along well and is even helpful to other patients. All of this was conveyed to me by Heather and Randi. The whole staff has been in touch with me trying to get me to feel comfortable and asking what makes my mom happy. Thank you also Nicole, Clarissa, Sam, Sharda and Dr. Weissman. This isn't a nursing home it is a community that care about their patients and family members as well. I highly recommend Valley View. Do not hesitate to put your family member here. Thank you."

"I have visited here and was quite pleased with the attention the staff members working here have given to my family member in a caring, careful and sincere manner. The regular updates about the changes that are occurring via telephone, email and or cell phone communication is greatly appreciated especially since the relatives being notified including myself live in states quite a distance away. My relative participating in rehabilitation there more than once is comfortable and relaxed with everyone seeing him daily and yes the facility is both a clean and sanitary facility. Thanks to everyone there as a family member that loves this person greatly it comforts me too knowing this resident is very well cared for. Again Thank you."

"My husband is in Schervier Pavilion. The nursing care is excellent. The doctor is very caring. Generally speaking, it's a pleasure to be there. I've spent days there myself keeping him company and they're very kind. He's a difficult patient, and they never lose their temper. He's difficult in that he's not eating, so they try to coax him into eating and try to please him in any way they can. They like him, and he enjoys them as well. He likes his physical therapist, so he's giving him full cooperation. Generally speaking, we're very, very pleased, me and the family. I tasted the food for my husband because he won't eat it, so I tasted it, and it's quite delicious. I tried to coax him into eating it, that's why I tasted it. I tell him, 'The queen has a taster, so she doesn't get poisoned, so I will taste your food so I could tell you how good or bad it is.' It's usually 99% of the time quite good. He doesn't go to any activities because he doesn't want to be there, so he's being very adamant about doing anything. He does go to physical therapy, he likes the therapists, but he doesn't go to any programs. They do have quite a number of programs every week, but he doesn't go to anything. It's all covered by Medicare and AARP."

"There are not many places in the area to begin with and this is probably the best of what's up there. The staff was very friendly, some were helpful than others, but they're very concern with my dad and that's what's important. He's probably ready to go into a Dementia care ward. They're letting him stay where he is because he's a very positive upbeat, friendly person, and he has a very positive influence on the other residents. So they're doing everything they can to keep him there. He's been there for four years now. He's eating well. They put him on a diet and he lost 40 lbs. and he's no longer diabetic. He's Dementia is more than moderate, but he seems to be eating well. He didn't really liked it when he first started, but once he realized that this was going to be his home, he changed his attitude. He's gotten very active with the residents. They have a singing group that he's involved in. He tries to stay active. "

"Elant is top of the line among all of the facilities I visited. I would say that this place suits my brother's needs. If there's an opening, I would definitely take it in a minute. They have nurses, they have doctors and their facility is very clean. They have staff there all the time. They seemed very helpful. There are a lot, or shall I say enough staff there. It's more like a nursing home only that they have more staff yet the residents still have their freedom and independence. They get to have 3 meals a day and get help with help with their medicine too. I also looked at one of their rooms. It was very nice. This facility would be my first choice for my brother. "

"Avoid this place if possible. Very understaffed and patients must wait up to 45 minutes to use the bathroom. Staff hide from the request bells and seem to disappear. Many of the CNAs have bad attitudes. The food is not good. Each room has a TV per patient. The floors are not swept everyday. Many activities for patients to participate in."

"Complete Care at Milford Manor is a clean place. It isn't the best, but it is OK. Some of the staff are very nice. Some of them are not and unhelpful. My father's room is spacious and clean. They have bingo, people that put on shows, and music. The dining area is clean and good. They also have an activities room and a library. Probably one thing they could improve on is to get more staff. I think they're short staffed."

"New dining area, just like a restaurant, pretty chinaware and decorations. Great rehab staff and involved, hands-on administrative staff. Country atmosphere with beautiful patio, nursing staff smile and greet you. "

"We choose Ellen Memorial Health Care Center for my father because it is very convenient to my job. He is very happy there. They serve three meals a day. They provide transportation for doctor's appointments. They have daily activities and special help for visually impaired people. The food is delicious. The staff calls me daily with updates. They are wonderful. They call me daily with any changes in his care. I am there pretty much five days a week. He likes the food. The staff is very attentive. They respond very quickly when he rings his bell. "
