My uncle is staying at Highland Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. I like them. They're reasonable people. I don't see anybody with an attitude, looking down at the patients, avoiding them, or such things. A lot of food is wasted because some people depend on their disposition that day. They may not eat, or they'll pick out a little bit. The facility is modern but not brand new or in good shape. I did not see messes or evidence of disregard for the facility by those responsible for maintaining it. It's not like every floor shined to a complete mirror finish every day, but it's clean. They potentially have some activities. I saw a crafts activity in a recreation area for a group, but at this point in their lives, they're not participating. We chose Highland Rehabilitation & Nursing Center because they have beds available, they would accept my uncle, and they could address his needs.

It's very difficult when your loved one is in need of rehab/nursing care so it's important that the people who care for your loved one are compassionate, kind and competent. My Mom was a resident for 3 months and I was very pleased with the attention and care that staff lavished on her. I was always made to feel welcome and grew to view the home as family. There was the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and on Sunday afternoon there was an inspirational religious service. My Mom has gone to be with my Dad and God and we were blessed to have such caring and devoted staff to help her to her next adventure.

The facility is run down and repairs and cleaning are not done in a timely manner the pictures show a time gone by. While there are some caring nurses and aids, the staff is not provided what they need...if you don't advocate for your loved one or if your loved one can't speak for themselves or doesn't....this oily s not your place. There are no activities after 3.

My father is in Highland Rehab. The staff is very caring and very helpful. The rooms are actually pretty large. They have all kinds of activities. They have music programs, they do arts & crafts, they have entertainment come in, and they have a whole calendar of games and current events. Highland Rehab use to be St. Teresita's. They changed name with the new owners.
