"The Springvale Inn was gorgeous but it's way too big. I stood at one end of the hallway and I said, 'my mom can't do it.' They said that they have to get themselves to the dining area on their own power, but my mom needs more assistance than that one does. The Springvale Inn was very clean and organized and the rooms were spacious. That part was nice. The only part I didn't like is that the halls were extremely long. It was beautiful, but it was too big for my mom. I only met two people and they're extremely nice and really helpful. I only saw one room and it was being redone. It's gorgeous. They had a salon and a beautiful courtyard. They had a bingo hall, a big dining area, and a smaller dining area where you could hold family things. It was very clean. "

"The Residence at Park Ridge was very nice. We visited the memory care unit and walked through the assisted living. It was a very nice place. It was clean. The memory care unit was very nice. They're staffed well. The layout was very nice. They had a big building for assisted care, and then one part of that building was memory care. The staff was very nice and very experienced. You could see that the staff they had in the memory care were working with the people, but I didn't talk to them or anything."

"My cousin has been at Braemar Living at Wallkill for 6 months now. She loves it there. It's a very good place. Her room is incredibly clean and modern. The staff is very friendly. They have movies and a pool. The outdoor spaces are super nice."

"I really like Brookdale Wayne. My parents are adjusting well. We haven't had any problems so far. They go out monthly to a local restaurant and they also have Bingo and cooking classes. The residents cannot participate in cooking, and I was hoping they'd have an interactive activity, but instead they just watch the person cook. They serve three meals a day, but the food could be improved. They also do their laundry for them. I have no problems with the staff at all and we've had good communication. Everybody's pleasant."

"I never would have believed that the care my stepdad has received from the Van Duzer home was possible. We moved my dad from another well known and larger facility that I thought was giving him a good quality life but as his condition progressed they were unable to provide him with the level of care he required. Brian and Donna welcomed him and treated him like family from the first moment he set foot in their home. He is pampered. They keep him clean, trimmed, and comfortable. They have a calm, fun nature and the caregivers they hire are the same. The food is gourmet, organic, fragrant and healthy. The home is impeccably clean. The rooms are large. My stepdad is very happy. Donna and Brian's attention to details makes my stepdad's day enjoyable and fun. Their sense of humor is infectious. He has lost unwanted weight, and overall health and mood greatly improved. What a blessing! Words cannot express the deep gratitude we have for the Van Duzer home. Their fee was comparable to his former home but the family atmosphere Donna and Brian create is priceless."

"My cousin is a resident of Mira Vie at Clifton. It's a very nice and very clean facility. They're very accommodating. The wellness staff is very nice, and I'm very pleased with the place. I'm very happy with my choice. They do bring her to the activities in which she participates. I know they have bingo, they sing, they have movies, and they do mind games in the morning. They give them three meals a day and they have snacks at four. Some of her friends went to see her, and they even gave them a cake. It's expensive, but I'm satisfied with what we're getting there. They even have a movie theater. They have an art room, a music room, and other things."

"I liked Mira Vie at Montville very much out of all the ones that I've seen. It was very warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly and it pretty much had everything that my mom would need. The facilities were very, very clean. It's not a brand new facility but everything seems to be well-maintained and very spacious. The lady who gave the tour was very good, too."

"I moved my mother to their assisted living. I am impressed with the care that they give and the amount of staff. It is a nice and pretty environment. They staff has a positive, friendly attitude. She has a single room that is a lot larger than any of the other places that I visited. They have a good of selection of quality food, and the dining room is attractive. They have religious services, holiday parties, bingo, exercise activities, current events, classes, meetings, and arts & crafts. They can improve on reminding people of the activities. They have a calendar, but people have a hard time following it. Aside from that, I think it is as good as it is going to be for her. "

"I liked the tour I had at The Willows Home. It was good. I like the staff who gave the tour, and they called me after that. They seemed to be nice people. I like the price, too, and I think the staff was courteous. It's a house that they transformed into assisted living because the house has about 12 rooms. The house is very old, but it's clean. The layout is good."

"Wartburg is beautiful and amazing. It's a campus, but they have full service with nursing and rehab and different buildings on-site. It's a gated place with a large grass area. The setting is quite nice. There are lots of places to walk, and there's a little chapel on the premise. As far as the food, I would give them a rating of 5. They had music going on while we were there and interactive things. I saw an exercise room and a whole list of programs that they have going on daily like movies, beaches, and a lot of activities. The assisted living was all in one building."

"I had a good visit at the Pine Ridge. I talked to the lady for about 40 minutes and she told me her place does not take Medicaid. I went there, but I was not allowed to get into the house. We were talking outside the house. Outside, the grass was a little bit tall. They need somebody to take care of their lawn. She's a very warm lady, very nice, talked to me, and answered a lot of the questions. The building was big enough for six people. They added small parts into the building for two employees who live there. They had a yard. They allow people to bring dogs there, too. I felt welcomed to be there. The lady gave me a very good impression. I did not feel anything uncomfortable."
