Assisted Living Communities in Tuxedo Park, NY

"We toured Thrive at Montvale. We liked the amenities, and we liked the fact that it was very new and very fresh. It was very nice. The staff was great, and we enjoyed the tour. We liked their meal plan and the size of the facility. It was not too big and not too small. We liked the fact that they could move from independent to assisted living if they needed to. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they wanted to get to know my parents, which was good. The cleanliness was great. We liked the courtyard quite a bit. They had a garden room and a giant LEGO area for families to play in, and they had water features, but the units were a little bit on the small side. The atmosphere was vibrant, and we liked the setup, the layout, and the spaces."

"Everything seems to be going well at Brighton Gardens of Saddle River. My mother is very happy there. We're very pleased that we made this change. Her room is small, but it's perfectly adequate for what she needs and it's decorated very nicely, with her things and that kind of stuff. She seems to be doing well. She does participate in some of the activities. Based on my mom's feedback and based on some of her visitors that she's had, they all seemed to be very, very pleased with what goes on there. They provide her laundry service and I'm assuming it's adequate. I haven't heard any complaints from her. She's comfortable in her apartment. They bring her out to sit in the front room a lot, so she's very happy that way. She's not isolated."

"Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake was a beautiful place. It didn't actually feel like a senior center or a nursing home. It actually felt like a home. The staff, the people, everyone welcomed you. The place was immaculate. I'd like to live there myself. It's really amazing. The lady showed me both the assisted living and memory care, and she was great. She was very phenomenal, very caring, very considerate, and very knowledgeable. They have a courtyard, too, and the rooms have a refrigerator, a microwave, and a walk-in shower."

"My aunt moved to Sunrise Franklin Lakes earlier this year. My aunt has always been a second mom to me. We were so concerned about how she would adjust to living in a memory care setting. We could not be more pleased with how well she has adjusted. I visit frequently and feel so confident that her needs are being met. I often arrive to find my aunt engaged in activities. Seeing her smile and laugh with her new friends brings joy to our family!"

"The Springvale Inn was gorgeous but it's way too big. I stood at one end of the hallway and I said, 'my mom can't do it.' They said that they have to get themselves to the dining area on their own power, but my mom needs more assistance than that one does. The Springvale Inn was very clean and organized and the rooms were spacious. That part was nice. The only part I didn't like is that the halls were extremely long. It was beautiful, but it was too big for my mom. I only met two people and they're extremely nice and really helpful. I only saw one room and it was being redone. It's gorgeous. They had a salon and a beautiful courtyard. They had a bingo hall, a big dining area, and a smaller dining area where you could hold family things. It was very clean. "

"My mom is at The Residence at Park Ridge. Her apartment is spacious. She is in a one-bedroom. She has a nice-sized living room and a kitchenette. We did the shared room rate because that's what she could afford, and when she was on Medicaid, like all the other places, she had to have a roommate, so that's the downside. The staff there are incredible. They're very friendly and supportive. They're there with any questions. The food is very good. I had lunch there, and their lunch was excellent. And my mom loves their food. The place is extremely clean. Every part of it and every area that we want to, it's immaculate. With regards to activities, they have a wide range of activities. I don't think they have as much as some of the other places that I saw, but my mom is very happy with them. They do bingo, arts and crafts, and different games. They have movies. They have happy hour and they have appetizers, cheese, and crackers for their happy hour. They also have milkshakes and coffee socials. They do a lot."

"Since coming to live at The Promenade at Blue Hill, I have become a free spirit. Free to enjoy my retirement, with the help of caring staff and the company of great friends. Come on, join us!"

"My brother will be moving into Braemar Living at Wallkill. My husband and I were very, very impressed. It was very clean. It was exactly what he wants. He wanted an area where he could go to the gym. He has a private room. Everyone was so friendly and efficient. They were very aggressive in having an appointment and setting up the tour. The person from admissions was very prompt in getting back to me. They assessed him on Friday, and she called me immediately and gave me the result. While we were touring, a woman came up to me, who is a resident, and said the food is delicious. I got it first hand from someone who was living there. The menu looked very good."

"Everybody at Atria on the Hudson was very nice. The employees have been there a long time. It's small. The people were very friendly. There were a lot of aides. They have a doctor's office, physical therapy, and someplace where you can get a haircut."

"I toured Sunrise of Wayne. I loved it. I like Colonial, and it was so cute, and it felt like you were home. The staff was very helpful and showed us the room. She allowed my son to come on a different day and tour it. It wasn't too big, and it was more like a family-type thing, and they had a religious service there, which was very helpful. They have a Protestant religious service there. The room was adorable, and the dining room was very cozy. It didn't look like a big dining room where you get lost. They had a cat and animals there. They had an activity room, where you could do activities and stuff like that. There was a nice library there, and nice, easy chairs on a porch type thing, while the front room was sort of like, you could look out, and it was so cozy looking."

"We toured The Promenade at Middletown. We didn't really have much of an experience. We sat down with a woman by the name of Tracy. She was very helpful. I liked the building. I thought it was very bright. Tracy was very prompt and extremely knowledgeable of what she was saying. I was impressed with her demeanor and how she handled us. She was very factual and answered any question we had."

"My mother was on the memory care unit for over two years. She was extremely well cared for and loved by all staff members until her passing. My family was comforted in knowing she got the highest level of care and she was always happy. The food is amazing, facility always clean and great activities to keep them occupied and moving. I highly recommend Brookdale at Wayne."

"I liked the friendliness, the community integration, and the activities at Sunrise of Old Tappan. The accommodations were updated and clean. I liked the general cleanliness. They seemed to have overall good quality care. The staff was informative. I think the lady took her time and was responsive and friendly. They have a courtyard. The way that memory care was set up was like an open plan so that people are visible and it's very homey in the decor and the way it's all set up. They have multiple common areas. They have a two-bedroom in the memory care, which is shocking. That's an unusual feature."

"I've toured CareOne at The Cupola which is a very nice community. They toured us through their rooms, they were nice as well. They had a lot of stuff going on, there's a gym room, exercises, they have a theater area, and outside gardens. They had more amenities than other places I've seen. The overall facilities and upkeep were good. My overall impression of the place was very good."
