I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I moved my mother into Mira Vie at West Milford for assisted living. We like that the staff is so caring. It makes my mother feel comfortable and at home. They have wonderful social activities and things to do there. My mom can go walking around the building and get plenty of exercise even when the weather is bad outside, as it is now. Their dining rooms are very good. They offer good food. They help find out issues that my mother may have with her dietary needs. For instance, they found out that she was lactose intolerant, so they have now adjusted her diet accordingly to the foods that they offer her. They take care of all the medical issues, prescriptions, and non-prescription drugs. She has just done really well there. She has really bounced back from the condition she was in prior to being there. She was just coming back from having the flu, and they really got her back on her feet. She is very active and very happy to be there. She tells me she is happy with the place and that she loves it. The only thing I could say that is less than appreciative, is that they have issues with clearing snow and ice since we have had this major snowstorm in the past weeks, but I guess many places might. It's hard for them to keep the walkways completely clear of ice. None of the tenants are going out, and there's a rampway that they could use if they wanted to go outside, not that they wanted to go now, but it's covered with ice, so it's closed off to make sure that it's not usable. So that's the only thing that's less than positive about it. They're just very good. They've made me feel so much more relaxed now and able to deal more with my life issues, and not have to be with her every day and see that she is taken care of appropriately. I can trust that they are taking great care of her, and that's a big plus for me. It's a big plus for her as she is enjoying herself. Her apartment is kept clean and very functional. It has great appliances. Everything is clean, new, and modern. They have many social rooms where they get together for happy hours or play games, and they are in wonderful condition. It's almost more than my mother can decide what to do. When I go there to visit with her, we take her for walks around the building to show her all the different things that are there, and she is amazed by it. She loves it. They have big socializing rooms where you can just show up and sit down in very nice, comfortable furniture, and meet other people, and get involved in conversations and socialize. They have game rooms with pool tables and backgammon checkers. They have a very large screen TV set up throughout the building in numerous places where they show different movies. They have an in-house beauty parlor, which is nice. It's open Monday through Friday, and you can go get your haircut however you like. It's all nice and can be charged to your room. They have libraries and game rooms, and they are stocked with different board games and card games.

I visited this facility

If I had to choose one assisted living facility of the two I visited, it would have been Mira Vie at West Milford because of the lobby and the whole hominess of the place. It would also be closer to me than the other one. Everything was nice, and everybody seemed to be very busy doing their thing. The person who gave the tour was also lovely.

I visited this facility

I visited Mira Vie at West Milford a few weeks ago. It's closer to where I live. It's a very nice facility. The rooms are very nice and very spacious. They have a lot of activities for the seniors. She showed me the dining area and the game room. They seemed to keep their seniors pretty active. It's pretty expensive, but there are options where you can have an apartment suite that you share with someone else to reduce costs. They even have a daycare option. Let's say you're going on vacation, and you need someone to watch your loved one; they could take someone for up to 30 days. It's a short-term thing. So, that was good to know. The seniors I met there seemed like they were happy. They were engaged with one another doing activities. Some people were reading. Some people were playing cards. The facility is nice. The neighborhood is beautiful. The grounds, the campus, everything was very nice. The sample room she showed me had everything that was needed. It had a little kitchenette with a microwave and a sink. It was really nice and very clean. No odors and very well kept. The lady I spoke to actually lives in my town and works over there. The facilities are beautiful. The rooms are beautiful. Everything was very updated. Everyone was very friendly, very welcoming, and answered all my questions. They understood my concerns about my dad being in a safe place. They explained all the care services. Of course, the more care you need, the more it costs, but they pretty much provide everything that you could need. I didn't see any food, but I saw a menu, and it looked like a variety of different kinds of food, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's very clean, very well decorated, and very well lit. Everything is accessible in the case of those who have wheelchairs. One of the exercise instructors came by and said hello. It was a very friendly staff. It seems like a very well-maintained facility.

I was impressed with Mira Vie at West Milford. The person who showed me around was very pleasant. They took me to the two-bedroom because they felt like that would be what I wanted. It was a nice facility. The common area was wonderful. It was great. It's well maintained.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I am a resident of Mira Vie at West Milford. The grounds are beautiful, and the facility has a lovely porch and patio. However, my room is very small because I'm on Medicaid, and the facility is often understaffed and doesn't offer many amenities. Some activities are available downstairs, and they hold a happy hour at 4:00 PM every day where you can enjoy a glass of wine. They do morning exercise after breakfast, and they have a book club. Compared to other facilities, the breakfast here is always very good with many choices. They need to improve their dinner options.

I toured Mira Vie at West Milford for my mom. I liked the overall environment, the cleanliness of the place, and the staffing. The person who took us on the tour was professional and attentive. They have availability of a private studio, but also availability of a shared apartment. I think it's pretty much standard.

I liked Mira Vie at West Milford. The lady that showed us around was nice and good. I appreciated her. They showed me one and two-bedroom apartments, and the two-bedroom was what I was most interested in. The price was half of what the other places were for studios. The amenities were nice, too. They were great. It was a nice place, and they gave me a pie.

My mother will be moving in. The reason I chose them was because they had independent living. The other places I went to had said she could live there independently, but we would wind up paying for assisted living, and we wouldn't be using it. So, that was one of the factors. The place was very nice. They made sure when the resident likes bingo they go to bingo. They would cater to them a little bit and make sure that they're not just sitting in their apartments. The apartment had a full kitchen, a full-sized refrigerator, a four-burner stove, a microwave, countertops, and a sink. They would go to the dining room for dinner, which we thought would be good because it would get her out and get her social. Breakfast and lunch, you could make your own, or you could add it to the list. They had their own hairdressers that came in. They had doctors that come in. They bus them over to Shoprite to go food shopping. They would take them to doctors' appointments. They would take them out to dinner in groups. They had a lot of nice features there. She could transition from independent living to assisted living, which was all in the same building. Everyone there was very nice. I met the physical therapists and a lot of people that work there. I met the guy that drives the bus to take them around. They were very attentive, very nice, and just seemed like they would take care of my mom really well. They were very helpful and everybody was very pleasant. We did run into a few women that live there as we were walking around, and their interaction with my mom was really nice. I would feel comfortable with my mother there.

My aunt moved in. It was beautiful. I got to see the entire building. I got to see the memory unit where my aunt would be at. I got a lot of information that day on the services, and what is required to kind of move in there. This is her third week there. This room is beautiful. It's very modern. It has a personal bathroom and a small kitchenette area. It has room for everything she needs. She has reported the food is good. I was happy to hear that. The dining area is set up like a restaurant. It is modern, bright, and inviting. It looks like a restaurant. It's very nice. I did get to see the activities. My aunt can't participate in those because she's in the memory unit. So they have their own activities. My aunt is in the memory unit which is a smaller unit, they call it the country cottage. I don't know why, but it's not exactly a cottage. It's part of their building. It's a unit, it's nice, it's set up nicely.

I like it to the point that I would definitely want my parents to move there. I was pleased with everything and everything was good. The person who showed me around was very helpful, pleasant, and friendly. They have several different activities which were applicable and appropriate for our different needs, like exercising in a chair, and art activities. I was sent home with some delicious scones.

The staff is fine. My apartment is very nice and the food is very good. We have a lot of activities here like comic nights, movies, Poker nights, and we have happy hour every day where we get to have beer. I think it is a very good community. We like each other, we get together and talk, and we have a lot of fun.

It is so much homier than some of the other places I've seen. They have lots of different things to do and take people to the doctors. The staff seems very nice. It is the only place where I can potentially bring my parents to live.

It was a nice facility, but their rooms were very small, like studio flats. They had an art room, a salon, and game room.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My mom is here, and she’s stable, calm and getting adjusted. The staff is very caring. It is very clean and very nice. It is a very pretty facility. The dining room is very nice, and she always liked the food; she thought it was very good. It always seemed the residents are very lively, sitting down and conversing. The dining room looked like a restaurant. Mother has a private room and when you have to share, you just share a bathroom.

What I liked is that the rooms were nice, big, and bright. The one room that we looked at in particular had a nice little outdoor patio. The staff seemed to know everybody by their first names and I liked that. They were also kind enough to spend time with me answering all my questions. They really seemed to respect the residents. They care for them a lot and they wanted the residents to have much stimulation within the day. There were a lot of things going on there. We did see various activities as they were happening. They also have a vegetable garden that the residents were working on which was also very nice.
