"My aunt moved to Sunrise Franklin Lakes earlier this year. My aunt has always been a second mom to me. We were so concerned about how she would adjust to living in a memory care setting. We could not be more pleased with how well she has adjusted. I visit frequently and feel so confident that her needs are being met. I often arrive to find my aunt engaged in activities. Seeing her smile and laugh with her new friends brings joy to our family!"

"I toured The Allendale Community for Senior Living, and it looked very nice. It was clean, very welcoming, and friendly. I loved how they had restaurant style food, meaning they were to sit down like at a diner to eat and get served (which is well deserved because they worked hard). The room looked good, and it was spacious. They had availability to have a living room and a bedroom. The grounds were great, and they had a fire pit. They had tennis. They had golf, and it was wonderful. Even the lobby was very welcoming, so that was nice. The staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming. I didn't taste the food, but I like the service of how they did the food."

"Juniper Village at Paramus was very welcoming and homey. The residents appeared very happy and engaged. The tour guide, Catherine, was very informative and very kind. It was a positive experience. Everything was very clean. I felt that the studio room was a little bit on the small side. It could only fit a twin bed, but it was very nice, clean, and appeared comfortable. They had a lot of activities. There's a full list of something to do every single day. While I was there, they were making cards. There was music playing. Everybody was kind of gathered in the community room. Everyone seemed engaged. It was extremely expensive though, for the level of care my mother would need."

"Preliminarily, I chose Brookdale Wayne for my wife. The grounds were clean and pleasant. The room was good. The person who helped me did a very good job. The dining area just seemed as we expected; it was good. We didn't go into activities, but they are an upscale facility, and they have everything we would need."

"From a tour perspective, Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake was excellent. They showed us everything, we like the staff and the people there, and it looked like a great place. We've only started our search, but we're already impressed with it. They're very nice and very informative, the staff seemed nice, the services seemed great, and the stream of attendants looked great. The rooms looked great, too, so we're very impressed, and we liked it. The tour was very good."

"Sunrise of Wayne was very nice. I liked everything about it, but the rooms were smaller than I had expected. The staff was excellent. They couldn't have been nicer. We had a very warm reception, and Lisa gave us a wonderful tour. The food was wonderful. The upkeep was very nice. They were in the process of upgrading, and they were doing some repairs, and I'd love to go back just to see it done because I could see what they were doing was very nice."

"The tour at CareOne at Wayne was great. The director was very welcoming. When you walked in, everybody was very, very nice, helpful and welcoming. I felt like they had a big facility compared to the first one that I saw that day. They have medical in-house, so it made me feel better in case one day mom has to go to hospice or if something happens, all the doctors are in-house. Even though it was a shared room, she still had her own room. There was nothing negative. Everybody seemed super friendly and happy to be there. It seemed like a lot of the staff have worked there for a while, which I liked. I did meet the chef, and he was lovely. It was very clean. They had just recently put an addition on, so it was updated and new. There's a sense of community and there's a lot going on. They were doing a lot with the people who live there."

"The visit at Emeritus was wonderful. They have a good sense of community. The people who were running it were friendly and attentive. I could have gone with them, but because of the price I didn't. They have basically had the same things like arts and crafts. In fact, when we were there, they had vendors in because it was around Christmas time. They had it all setup where the residents could just go down and buy if they had to get some presents. Emeritus takes the residents on outings too. It is really an involved community. They really get the residents involved. It keeps them active and keeps their mind and body going. I really did like that place. The only thing is they have a little less when it came to food like the choice of food. It was also a little bit smaller than where my mom is now. "

"We toured Mira Vie at Clifton, and they were very exceptional. That place was stunning, and I wanted to move in there. They had these massive common room areas, and the people were super friendly. They had activities going on while we were there. It's kind of head and shoulders above at this point, and I got to meet the chef. They have a movie theater space, and they show movies nightly. They have a craft space and three or four little common areas; some are bigger, and some are smaller. They have little reading nooks, and that was great. We were waiting for the person giving the tour, and the residents were lovely. They came over and talked to us and were very happy. They had a party going on upstairs with a DJ, and everybody was in the middle of a party, and that's my favorite."

"They were recommended to me by the previous facility where my mother-in-law was. I came up to the Promenade and took a tour there myself and I think it would be a good place for her. I brought my wife and she likes it also because it was smaller. The care might be what she needs. I was pretty impressed with the facility itself. The first thing I look for is cleanliness. It looked that it was really clean there. All areas are clean like the kitchen, in the hallways and even in the common area where the people were. That was my always concern. So if it's clean then it's a good sign. The staff is really friendly and very helpful during our interaction with them. I saw some residents busy doing activities when were there. I'm not sure of all the activities they have. They also have barbecue and people sit outside. I think that was nice. "

"Beautiful new rooms ! Food is horrible ! Mostly rude staff ! Management does not always stand by their word , returning calls , following up with patients family like promised. Poor treatment of patients for instance forgetting to put the patients needed constant oxygen on them and leaving patient with out it. Not caring how they dress the patient when there are plenty of matching outfits in the dresser and closet. And more."

"We picked this facility. It’s for my sister-in-law. She has not moved in yet. We’re waiting this week to sign the papers. It’s close to me. They have everything that you can possibly want. The only prooblem is they don’t have is a swimming pool. I’d seen the menus which are unbelievable. They provide breakfast and/or lunch or dinner. It’s excellent."

"I toured Sunrise of Cresskill. The one thing that I didn't like about them was that when I asked them to send a nurse to my house to assess my dad, the lady who was in charge was like, 'Oh no, you have to bring your dad here.' However, it's not that easy for me to bring my dad over there. With other places, it's very routine that they send the nurse to your house and the nurse evaluates. The woman who was in charge at Sunrise of Cresskill was not very nice. The place was nice, but the businessperson wasn't welcoming. I'm not sure why she didn't want to send a nurse to my house to assess my dad. The facility looked clean, but the room was small."

"Sunrise at West Essex was the nicest of all assisted living homes that I have visited. The staff was extremely friendly when giving me a tour. The residents were all dressed neatly and appeared to be happy and enjoying the company of others around them. There is a dog living in the assisted living facility which also helps give a home feel to the place. For meals the food looked and smelled delicious. Sunrise at West Essex sets the standard that all other assisted living facilites should try and duplicate. "

"I toured The Willows Home. It's lovely. I talked to a couple of residents, and they're very happy there. The nurse said that they have three meals a day, entertainment, and a beautiful common room. The bedrooms were very nice. The entire place is clean, but it's not what we're looking for right now. The dining area was lovely. They have a beautiful dining table, and everyone has a place at the table. She showed me the well-stocked kitchen. They have three hot meals a day, plus snacks are available to the residents. The staff was very gracious and very understanding. She showed me around, a very nice lady. The facility was very clean and had a very pleasant smell. The bathrooms were clean. The toilets were clean. I have nothing bad to say about it. It was a very nice place. They're somewhere I would consider if they had the accessibility that my father needs right now."
