"We placed Mom at Brighton Gardens of Saddle River. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. It has everything from cooking, arts and crafts, movies, and Zumba to trips out shopping at the market and malls. They go out to lunch and dinner and listen to music. Piano players and singers come in. It’s a wonderful place, and we’re very satisfied."

"Because of the COVID-19 epidemic, it's been a challenge to fully grasp the quality of this facility. However, all of my many conversations with various staff members have been very satisfactory. Everyone is friendly, they fully listen to my concerns and do everything they can to address the many issues my Aunt has raised. Since I don't eat the food, I rated it average. It may be better than that, but I have no way of knowing. When a vaccine makes COVID a distant memory, I'm sure the activities for the residents will be more robust, but my understanding is the residents are being given ample activities even during these challenging times. I recommend this facility to anyone who is in the need."

"When we visited Sunrise of Paramus, they gave us a homemade apple pie and it was really good. The facility seemed pretty secured. I think they give access to the residents at night. They have a code to get in, and that sounds like a plus to us. "

"My sister-in-law has moved into Sunrise of New City. It's excellent. It has quality care. They are well cared for and everything is good. The staff members are excellent. The facility is clean, well maintained, and if there is anything wrong, they fix it right away. It's centrally located in Rockland County, New York. Food is very good, too."

"I toured Sunrise of Cresskill. The one thing that I didn't like about them was that when I asked them to send a nurse to my house to assess my dad, the lady who was in charge was like, 'Oh no, you have to bring your dad here.' However, it's not that easy for me to bring my dad over there. With other places, it's very routine that they send the nurse to your house and the nurse evaluates. The woman who was in charge at Sunrise of Cresskill was not very nice. The place was nice, but the businessperson wasn't welcoming. I'm not sure why she didn't want to send a nurse to my house to assess my dad. The facility looked clean, but the room was small."

"My mom is on the independent side & my aunt is on the assisted living side. I have been so happy with the care for my mom & aunt at the community! Both are doing well & my mom is thriving. Loves the community & all the activities. I was so impressed with the care during Covid. The staff had gone above & beyond anything I expected! It was a relief to know that they had everything handled and I didn’t have to worry!"

"Juniper Village at Paramus is gorgeous. The only thing is that they're just starting their renovations because they just got in there in February; I think they took over. It has all the hallways that go to God knows where; but the people there were so nice, I have to say that. We didn't see many of the residents when we were there. They were putting on a play called, Singing in the Rain. They've been so nice to me. They've talked to me like three or four times. I've been there twice or maybe three times. We like it, but the price is off the charts. The staff was just wonderful. They answered all the questions and were very patient. They accommodated this because I could only make it on a Sunday. They were doing the play, which was beautiful, and amazing. They came from where they were to meet me there because that's the only time my husband could go. They were very accommodating. There's nothing wrong there at all. It's just a little too big for my 94-year-old mother. It would be OK if you're 80 or 75, and you can get around a little better. My mother has no problems with her thinking or anything, but I could just see that the hole was just too much, like they were too empty. There are always people living there. We were shown so many rooms because obviously, people left, people died, unfortunately; they're looking for people. They gave my mother such a high level of care amount that she would need. When they came back, it was almost half price. They should give me the bottom line; I don't like playing games like that. I have to say, the people that I met, the big guy who runs the place, the top executive and his workers, Peter and Linda, were extremely nice. There's nothing wrong there, it's just too big and too high priced."

"My daughter took me here for a tour. Everything was nice and very clean. The dining room was nice. Their rooms were fine and good. There's a patio and that's good. The food was good. They have many menus and they were good. They did have a lot of activities there. They have games and movie nights. They have an exercise room and they also have a garden where you can go out and sit outside. Everybody was pleasant. I enjoyed my visit in this facility. It's a place I would stay if I move up there."

"My wife and I moved into Atria Riverdale. It's a very nice place. We have a two-bedroom apartment, a bedroom and a living room, and a toilet. That's what we have. The apartment is reasonable. It's comfortable. It's a nice apartment. We don't need appliances because we eat here. They have a dining room and they provide us with all meals. The staff is very nice. They're very helpful. They're very cooperative. There are exceptions of course, but by and large, I'd say they're very good. They have all kinds of activities. They have people who come in singing once or twice a week. They have people who come in to talk about politics once or twice a month. And, they have other activities. They have exercise activities. They have quite a bit of activities if you're interested. They have a small auditorium where they show movies two or three times a day. They have a grill where you can go and get food if you need it in addition to the dining room. They have a lot of conveniences."

"This facility recently became Brookdale (from Emeritus). Since that time the food service has declined dramatically and the cable tv has been limited to what must be basic service (previously hallmark, food ,hgtv were available). Some of the staff are excellent and caring. Unfortunately, that can not be said for all. "
