We loved everything about Brookdale Emerson. The staff who toured us around was lovely, friendly, and helpful. The rooms looked great. They were nice people. This facility was a little smaller compared to the other place we visited. I think they just didn't have an option of how big the room was.

I was not thrilled with the cleanliness at Brookdale Emerson. The rooms were not particularly updated in terms of decor. What I liked was the calendar of activities. I thought that their assisted living otherwise was just adequate. They have adequate community rooms, common areas, and plenty of places for people to gather. The person who gave the tour was honest, informative, and accommodating. They just need to improve the cleanliness of the lobby bathroom and update the rooms.

I think that Brookdale Emerson probably would suit my father's needs very well. There was a lot of walking, so that was just a concern of mine because he's in rehab right now. But other than that, it seemed very lovely both, the dementia unit and the assisted living facility were. We were very impressed by the size of the rooms compared to the other place we visited. The staff who I met was very friendly, very accommodating, very helpful, and answered all our questions. I have to call back the businessperson to give me all the prices and everything like that. I like the rooms.

My mom will be moving to Brookdale Emerson tomorrow. We chose it for her because it was in my mom's price range and it was closer for us to visit. She also liked it when she saw it herself. The atmosphere looked wonderful. As soon as you walk in, there's a giant TV room where residents are gathered, socializing and watching TV. It's a nice open space. So, you don't look like you're on top of each other. It almost felt like a hotel, not an assisted living place. The dining room was spacious. We had breakfast there and the food was awesome. The chef was fantastic and the menu varies. The gentleman that showed us around was very knowledgeable. We met with another awesome woman as well. On the second floor (right in the middle), there's a beauty salon and a sitting area to read books or use a computer. It was set up well.

I visited Brookdale Emerson. It's a nice place, but it's extremely expensive. You have to furnish your own beds and furniture. It's beautiful, but it was out of our price range, let's put it that way. I saw the room, but you have to supply your own furniture, beds, and chair. They're lovely, but besides the fee of entry and the monthly fee, it was expensive.

The staff at Brookdale Emerson was excellent during the tour. They have mostly studio rooms, they also showed us a 1-bedroom as well. They seemed to have plenty of activities internally and also trips outside the building. Josh, who is the director, I can't say nicer things about him, he's fantastic. And Steve who was also the director was fantastic, and the fact that I remember their names after visiting several locations says a lot. The dining area was very adequate and the wait staff was excellent. The director of the kitchen came to say hello to us, they had residents sit with us, it was lovely. My father-in-law enjoyed the food very much. I thought the community was very well laid out, and it was a much smaller place than some of the others I have seen. But they did a very good job of laying out the space. There's a whole floor laid out for medical, exercise, and library, and there's a cafe open the whole day for snacks. They really provide everything that you need.

While the rooms are a good size, they are expensive. Housekeeping is supposed to be done once a week, But they are always short staffed. Especially on weekends. Food is terrible. OK the first week it is OK, but the var iety never changes. Second lunch or dinner wave, they run out of food. Some residents just walk into other residents rooms. "They say lock your door" Then staff can not get in room without a key, while trying to bring you medications. The staff that is there is nice to residents-but short staffed, and always willing to complain to the residents.

My aunt moved into Brookdale Emerson. She is there on a month-to-month basis. She has a studio apartment that has a private bath. It also has a small refrigerator and a microwave. It's excellent, but it is very expensive to be there. Nevertheless, the place is gorgeous. The dining area is a big spacious room that is bright and airy. The lighting is gorgeous. They have waiters and waitresses, they give you choices of meals, and their food is very good. It is a very nice place. They do her laundry for her, and they clean her room for her. The activities are Bingo, mass services, arts, and crafts. They had a very nice St.Patrick's Day party where the families were all invited.

My mother is living in Brookdale Emerson. The general appearance of the place is very nice and clean. They have enough entertainment for the elderly. The food is not gourmet, but it is OK. Most of the staff is very nice. The activities, for the most part, are very acceptable and nice. They keep the residents occupied and keep their minds active. There is a person who comes in for music, and they do bingo, arts and crafts, and make jewelry. Overall, I would give Brookdale Emerson a 4. It would be a 5 if their management was a little more responsive. Also my mother wound up sharing a room; that's disgraceful. There is no value when you have to share a room and share a bathroom.

Brookdale Emerson was good. Julie was fantastic. They had separate, nice-sized bedrooms and living rooms. I’ve seen the dining room; it was smallish. I would have expected it to be larger. They have a library and a room where they can gather to listen to music. The community is in good condition. They were refurbishing things.

Seems to me, they are short shafted. The day my Mom moved in, someone had left the day before. This has happened with at least 3 other departments since she moved in. Most of the people are very nice- but short staffed makes for unhappy workers everywhere.

Brookdale Emerson was beautiful, and nothing was wrong, but it was expensive. The room was nice. The staff went above and beyond. However, they didn't have wound care nor a good area for diabetes.

Brookdale Emerson is nice. It has small units that more affordable than most other places. The staff is very helpful, kind, and thoughtful and take time with my mom, with me, and my family. They do musical and hands-on activities with the residents. The dining room is very nice, and the food is good.

I liked Brookdale Emerson a lot. I was impressed by the people there and the people who ran it. They seemed very welcoming and were very good with their follow-up and all. I liked the whole layout of the place. It was very clean, seemed to have good amenities, and the residents were happy too. I actually did recommend them to a friend of mine who’s looking for a place for her mother.

The visit at Emeritus was wonderful. They have a good sense of community. The people who were running it were friendly and attentive. I could have gone with them, but because of the price I didn't. They have basically had the same things like arts and crafts. In fact, when we were there, they had vendors in because it was around Christmas time. They had it all setup where the residents could just go down and buy if they had to get some presents. Emeritus takes the residents on outings too. It is really an involved community. They really get the residents involved. It keeps them active and keeps their mind and body going. I really did like that place. The only thing is they have a little less when it came to food like the choice of food. It was also a little bit smaller than where my mom is now.

We had a tour at Emeritus at Emerson. It's a little premature, and for my husband it was not a good fit. I was able to visit and get an idea of what it is about. Everybody seemed very nice, but overall it did not seem like good fit for him right now.

We just visited Emeritus at Emerson for about 5 minutes, but I think it was nice. I think everything is fine. We didn’t pursue it further so they were not able to give us any details besides the initial visit. The staff was nice.

My sister told me about Emeritus at Emerson and also a doctor recommended me to this facility. Everything seemed okay except money wise. I like that the facility is quite. I know they have indoor activities as well as outdoor activities like they go to the malls.

Emeritus at Emerson was lovely. They have one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. It looked like a regular apartment complex. The woman who talked to and took me for a tour was very sweet.

Emerson wasn't as clean and as neat. The walls were scratched up and the place looked dirty here and there. One bathroom that I used was pulled off the wall. To me, the maintenance department wasn't on top of things. The staff was fine but it was just the maintenance of the place that bothered me.

It was a very nice and clean place. I like the programs. I thought that they were comparable to the other homes in the area. They seemed to be more than willing to address any concerns that I might have. They wanted to meet my mother but I'm not ready to move her yet. They have a lot of activities there like computers, art, gym and religious activities.

The facility was very warm and vibrant for the most part. The staff seemed somewhat stressed and overworked but friendly at the same time. The fact that they looked overworked seemed like cause for concern on my part and my mother and father were sometimes displeased with the attention, or lack there of it, my grandfather may have received. By the same token, we had looked, as a family, into other nursing homes. Some of which, were even in closer proximity but this was by far where he felt the most comfortable and where we felt comfortable placing him. The amenities and facilities were nice. It was nice that they kept him active and part of the community as much as possible. They frequently played games and did other activities together. On the whole we were pleased by their services.

The facility is located on the outskirts of the city so there is no much noise present, but it is not too much far away from the city so visitors can come anytime. There are many types of rooms including solo, double and companion rooms as well as studios. The rooms are well-lit with comfortable beds. In each room there is an emergency button so patients can call emergency service staff which is there 24 hours a day. There are also common rooms: TV room, chapel, wellness center, laundry, dining room and also a library. There is a special program for patients with Alzheimer's disease: the staff is trying to be the part of their moment rather than bringing them back to reality. Mentioning the staff, they are well trained, full of compassion and they treat every patient differently, depending on his/her needs. There is a transportation service from and to hospital if needed. There are three meals a day, meal plan is flexible which means that patient can choose what and when to eat, as well as various snacks.

Over all the staff and the facility were very good, the other people living in the place were not always nice at all.

My father has just spent his first night at Emeritus, so I cannot say much about his stay so far, but I can say that, for the first night in a long time I slept soundly knowing he was safe. My experience with Emeritus during the process of getting my father situated there has been nothing short of wonderful. They have been extremely accomodating to our family, letting us set up his room as we liked, understanding and being helpful with all the paper work and all of our questions, and making this very difficult process for us, as simple and smooth as possible. The staff is so very friendly and kind to my father and to us that it warms the heart, and the attention to detail, even to the point of the nice welcome sign for my father in the main lobby yesterday is fantastic. I am so grateful that such places exist where the elderly can be well cared for in a clean and safe environment, and still enjoy a measure of independent living, and I truly hope that other families who are going through similar situations can come to realize the value of places life Emeritus, Emeritus, by the way, means "retire with dignity". So far, I can clearly see that they are living up to this motto. My heartfelt thanks to the staff and God Bless!
