"I didn't see anybody there at Sunrise of Franklin Lakes. It is fairly new. It only opened recently. I just met the one employee, and she was very nice. I didn't really see much there. The room was a larger type of a room. It was larger than most of the rooms. It was set up very nicely, but I didn't see any residents or any other staff. The dining area looked beautiful, but I didn't see any menus. They have different seating areas where you can sit and talk, and they offered like a cafe for the residents where they can go and get something to eat at any time of the day. It's a brand-new place. It's beautiful and decorated gorgeously."

"The community at CareOne is very nice. The nursing staff and the people who work there are very good, but it’s very expensive, and Mother has to share a room. The service and food is very good. They have programs for Alzheimer’s and dementia, but they need to increase those and allow access to the outside. "

"This community was alright. They both had independent living and an assisted living facilities. I didn't like the apartment, they need to improve on the layout of the rooms. "

"My aunt moved into Brighton Gardens, it had a lot of personal care, amenities, and it kept the people interested without always having visitors from the family there. They take care of the patients that are a little bit worse off in terms of memory issues. The staff seemed to be positive, and right now they have a good staff to patient ratio, which is better than most, and they provide 24/7 care, which is what we needed. The food is much better than most. It was built for what it was intended for. It's all enclosed, and it has security."

"I liked the tour I had at The Willows Home. It was good. I like the staff who gave the tour, and they called me after that. They seemed to be nice people. I like the price, too, and I think the staff was courteous. It's a house that they transformed into assisted living because the house has about 12 rooms. The house is very old, but it's clean. The layout is good."

"I was searching for assisted living facilities for my father and decided to look at 3 within a 10 minute drive of our home. Brighton Gardens was the first of the three I visited. Upon entering the parking lot I noted the beautiful grounds and welcoming entrance decorated appropriately for the season. Walking in I was greeted by a lovely receptionist who escorted me to the directors office, She offered me something to drink and chatted for awhile until the director arrived. Everyone was gracious and friendly. After speaking with the director, Donna, she confidently stated that she was certain that we would be choosing Brighton gardens. I was impressed with her confidence. I was shown the facility and as an RN myself I was looking for certain things. Were the areas clean neat and free of potential obstacles for those with canes, walkers etc.? Were the employees smiling and caring toward the residents? Were the accomodations spacious well kept without obnoxious odors, were there safety precautions? The answers were yes, yes and yes! Then the price would it be affordable..yes! The next step was to visit the 2 other facilites and then bring my dad and sister to the one I thought met all of our requirements and of course that my dad felt comfortable there. I left after that first visit with a positive impression. The other 2 facilites paled in comparison to Brighton Gardens! There was no question Brighton Gardens was the only choice. My dad and sister went for a tour and lunch and also loved it. My father did a one month trial and then decided to become a resident. He has thrived there. He is ambulating better and is much more communicative. He enjoys the meals and of course the afternoon cocktail. I would highly recommend this facility. i "

"I liked Mira Vie at Montville very much out of all the ones that I've seen. It was very warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly and it pretty much had everything that my mom would need. The facilities were very, very clean. It's not a brand new facility but everything seems to be well-maintained and very spacious. The lady who gave the tour was very good, too."

"We chose The Allendale Community for Senior Living for Mom because we like the environment. The people are very relaxed and friendly. It's very pretty, and it's close to home. She's in memory care. They're extremely helpful and friendly, and the residents there looked very happy compared to other places, and relaxed. They contacted me already a few times just to keep me updated. I just saw one meal there and it looked good. They have activities. It's very, very clean."

"This facility has a very nice building and lobby. It's also close to almost everything. This place has nice amenities and is very neat. I've seen the different types of accommodations and they're wonderful despite their small sizes. They offer meal plans to residents and transportation to doctors' clinics. Some activities they organize include exercises and talks. I will recommend this place to others. However, they could do something with the rooms and make it a little bit bigger. "

"Brookdale West Orange was great. The rooms were nice, clean, and functional. Everybody seemed at peace and happy. They were playing bingo when I was there. They showed two types of studios: a small and bigger one. They seemed perfect. They also showed us the beauty shop, the library, the place where they had a computer, their front porch, and the patio outside. Everything was nice. The menu was great, and they have so many options."

"Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake is beautiful, but it's a little far for my mother. Even though we were just walking, the staff greeted us and engaged with us. We didn't have big conversations but they acknowledged that we were there, and they were pleasant. Jessica, the person who gave us the tour, was forthcoming. She gave us a lot of good information, personal one-on-one, and seemed to get to know our mother and us, and our needs. Everything seemed very resident-focused, it just was lovely. they may all offer the same thing, but it's the way it's presented. They were renovating when we went there, but we didn't hold that against them. It just looks better and better. I didn't even think it was bad before, but they were still renovating. They have a gym but it's more for physical therapy. They have a hair salon, they have a little area where they can get snacks during the day, they're closed now, but eventually or post-COVID, they'll open again. They have lovely outdoor spaces, and one of the things I like about them is that they had an indoor porch and an outdoor porch."

"Emerson wasn't as clean and as neat. The walls were scratched up and the place looked dirty here and there. One bathroom that I used was pulled off the wall. To me, the maintenance department wasn't on top of things. The staff was fine but it was just the maintenance of the place that bothered me. "

"We were directed around by Stephanie at CareOne at Morris, and she took a lot of time explaining the different programs that they had and the levels of care that they had. Everything was very clean, and the people that worked there seemed very friendly. The residents were coming and going in a common area. They were setting up for a friends and family event that they were having. It's beautiful. It just really comes down to finances basically. "
