"I toured Sunrise of Paramus. It's a very nice facility, and everybody was engaged. It's new and very well-kept. The rooms are being updated and transitioned over, so some of them were in the middle of construction, like they're putting the bathroom in, and their pieces still need to be assembled, which is fine. The staff was great and engaged, and I liked her very much. I felt more comfortable with her. She knew all the residents there."

"I've toured CareOne at The Cupola which is a very nice community. They toured us through their rooms, they were nice as well. They had a lot of stuff going on, there's a gym room, exercises, they have a theater area, and outside gardens. They had more amenities than other places I've seen. The overall facilities and upkeep were good. My overall impression of the place was very good."

"My brother & sister-in-law moved to Green Hill about 9 months ago. Both of them are treated very well. The staff , the nurses, care givers & management cannot do enough to make them feel loved. I recommend Green Hill highly."

"Brighton Gardens of West Orange was fabulous. However, the rates were kind of bad if you needed help. The only thing I had a problem with was the extra $4,000 a month if Mom needed assistance with taking a shower. I liked everything else about it. I loved the whole thing. I toured the memory care. The lady took me through and showed me everything. The other thing I had a problem with was they have two cats. The restaurant was gorgeous. The common areas, too. They would go outside and the grounds were beautiful. They have a place where they could do the gardening right there. The whole thing was just beautiful. I thought it was gorgeous. It was near a hospital so that's a very good location and it's not in a busy street."

"I toured The Willows Home. It's lovely. I talked to a couple of residents, and they're very happy there. The nurse said that they have three meals a day, entertainment, and a beautiful common room. The bedrooms were very nice. The entire place is clean, but it's not what we're looking for right now. The dining area was lovely. They have a beautiful dining table, and everyone has a place at the table. She showed me the well-stocked kitchen. They have three hot meals a day, plus snacks are available to the residents. The staff was very gracious and very understanding. She showed me around, a very nice lady. The facility was very clean and had a very pleasant smell. The bathrooms were clean. The toilets were clean. I have nothing bad to say about it. It was a very nice place. They're somewhere I would consider if they had the accessibility that my father needs right now."

"Everything seems to be going well at Brighton Gardens of Saddle River. My mother is very happy there. We're very pleased that we made this change. Her room is small, but it's perfectly adequate for what she needs and it's decorated very nicely, with her things and that kind of stuff. She seems to be doing well. She does participate in some of the activities. Based on my mom's feedback and based on some of her visitors that she's had, they all seemed to be very, very pleased with what goes on there. They provide her laundry service and I'm assuming it's adequate. I haven't heard any complaints from her. She's comfortable in her apartment. They bring her out to sit in the front room a lot, so she's very happy that way. She's not isolated."

"I liked Mira Vie at Montville very much out of all the ones that I've seen. It was very warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly and it pretty much had everything that my mom would need. The facilities were very, very clean. It's not a brand new facility but everything seems to be well-maintained and very spacious. The lady who gave the tour was very good, too."

"We chose The Allendale Community for Senior Living for Mom because we like the environment. The people are very relaxed and friendly. It's very pretty, and it's close to home. She's in memory care. They're extremely helpful and friendly, and the residents there looked very happy compared to other places, and relaxed. They contacted me already a few times just to keep me updated. I just saw one meal there and it looked good. They have activities. It's very, very clean."

"Brookdale West Orange was very nice. I liked everything about it. The staff who assisted me during the tour was very thorough, very nice, and did a great follow-up. We went to see the room to see what it was like, and it was very nice."

"I toured Brookdale Emerson. I liked that it was very thorough. The patients were very satisfied, and the food was great. Dimitri was super helpful and answered every question I had. I only liked a couple of activities, and I was presented with about 50."

"My mom is at The Residence at Park Ridge. Her apartment is spacious. She is in a one-bedroom. She has a nice-sized living room and a kitchenette. We did the shared room rate because that's what she could afford, and when she was on Medicaid, like all the other places, she had to have a roommate, so that's the downside. The staff there are incredible. They're very friendly and supportive. They're there with any questions. The food is very good. I had lunch there, and their lunch was excellent. And my mom loves their food. The place is extremely clean. Every part of it and every area that we want to, it's immaculate. With regards to activities, they have a wide range of activities. I don't think they have as much as some of the other places that I saw, but my mom is very happy with them. They do bingo, arts and crafts, and different games. They have movies. They have happy hour and they have appetizers, cheese, and crackers for their happy hour. They also have milkshakes and coffee socials. They do a lot."

"We toured Thrive at Montvale. We liked the amenities, and we liked the fact that it was very new and very fresh. It was very nice. The staff was great, and we enjoyed the tour. We liked their meal plan and the size of the facility. It was not too big and not too small. We liked the fact that they could move from independent to assisted living if they needed to. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they wanted to get to know my parents, which was good. The cleanliness was great. We liked the courtyard quite a bit. They had a garden room and a giant LEGO area for families to play in, and they had water features, but the units were a little bit on the small side. The atmosphere was vibrant, and we liked the setup, the layout, and the spaces."
