"I did a tour of the Hopkins Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare. I like the staff; they were very helpful. The staff was very knowledgeable. I spoke with the social worker and followed up with him. I got a lot of information. The facility was very clean. They posted on the wall, a schedule for the month of activities."

"My friend stayed at CareOne at Parsippany Assisted Living because he had a medical issue. Mike and the team were absolutely wonderful. He had to stay there in their medical facility, and they took great care of him and nursed him back to health. It would be a wonderful place for him to live. Unfortunately, he wants to still live at home and be more independent as he says, but it was a great facility, and a great experience. The main person I met with was Mike, and I believe he was the director, and he follows up with me. They're just fantastic. This place was well run, clean, and attentive. They did everything that I would expect a place like that to do. There are two parts to it. There's the assisted living part and then there's a medical facility. I had visited the assisted living facility with my friend and we were trying to convince him to do a short-term stay there over the winter. As we were trying to convince him, he wound up getting very ill, but he wouldn't go to the hospital. I reached out to Mike for his advice on what to do to try to get my friend some help and try to get him out of his house. Mike and a couple of the nurses there visited with him and convinced him that he needed to be in a hospital and that they would bring him to the CareOne medical facility and it was covered under his insurance. My friend agreed. They bought him there and they kept him there until he was able to go back home. They were just wonderful. It was a combination of Mike, who works more on the assisted living side, who put me in touch with the right people and then made sure we got taken care of in the medical facility. They kind of work hand-in-hand right at the same place, just two different sides. He's very picky with food, but he said it wasn't bad. When they talked to me about what it would cost there, I thought it was pretty reasonable. The activities were fantastic. There were so many activities that I thought he would be happy to be there."

"The Best!!!!!!! They saved my life!!!! I cannot express enough gratitude to the Sands Point Team, for helping to save my life. I arrived on a stretcher and was able to leave, walking on my own. Rehab is the best. Nursing is wonderful. From the Director of Nursing, to the unit nurses, certified nursing assistants, Administrator, Guest Services, on and on. The facility is clean, the food is good and most importantly, the staff is caring. I highly recommend Sands Point Center to anyone and everyone. "

"Sycamore Living is brand new. It just opened in the spring. It's on the small side, but I don't know how many residents they have, I think it's under 50. It's modern and clean. My mother's been there for 2-1/2 weeks now. The staff is very informative, and they've been calling and keeping us posted on how my mother's doing, so the communication is very good. I guess the food is fine; I haven't heard any complaints. I like it. It's very open. My mother's in a private room, but I would know better if I was able to visit her and I was walking in the hallway. I only had a tour of the facility, so it's hard to say. It just looked very nice. It was an office building that was reconfigured to make it into a nursing home or whatever you call these facilities. They have assisted living, long-term care, and rehab. It's a large building, and it's brand new."

"We visited Edgehill, it was very lovely and the apartments were larger than the other community we saw. It was very nice, but you have to buy-in, and that's too expensive for us. It's a very upscale kind of place. The person that assisted us was very good and very helpful. They had an exercise room and craft room, and the layout was very well thought out."

"My father-in-law has only been in Brighton Gardens of Edison for two days. Right now, I'm very happy. He's in the rehab part. It's clean and it doesn't smell. The nurses are attentive. They come when you call them and when you ring your bell, they come. So far, they're doing good for physical therapy. It's only been two days and he's already up and under the bed, which I'm happy about. The room is very clean. He's in a private room right now. He had a lot of ailments, so he couldn't be with somebody else. In the assisted living, they have a lot of stuff but he's not in that area. They have a dining area and they have where they gather and they do different activities. I've seen that and it's very clean."

"Dad has been at Woodcrest Health Care for about two weeks, and so far so good. The staff is fine and friendly, and they do call me when they are giving him a test or if there is a problem. He just doesn’t want to eat, and this has been going on for three months. He is always clean, and that’s the first thing I check when I visit a nursing home to make sure the place smelled OK. So far, I haven’t had an issue. The location is fine. My dad really can’t stand up, but they have like a special thing on where if he moves too much out of the chair, the alarm would go off. "

"Del Ridge provides top-notch reliable and safe service. The best part about Del Ridge is that you can rest assured that your loved one is in safe hands. My grandmother was there for over two years and we never once had any kind of problem. She was always clean and up for the day, fed well, and kept busy with activities. A big positive of Del Ridge is their wide variety of activities that they provide to keep the residents from being bored. Our family's only complaint about Del Ridge was the expense. It is very hard to afford on a long-term basis if you don't have long term care insurance, and ultimately, the cost was the sole reason why we had to move my grandmother out of Del Ridge. I am sure the prices vary depending on the level of care but it was $11,000 a month for my grandmother and this kind of expense on a regular reoccurring basis was simply unsustainable for our family. If money isn't an issue, however, I can confidently recommend Del Ridge to anybody. "

"Bergen Regional staff was very, very kind. The coordinator, Maribel, was very, very polite. We didn't have any problems or any issues. However, I wouldn't recommend them for respite care. Maybe for a long-term care, but not for respite care. This was more of a hospitalization facility. "

"The New Jersey Veterans Homes Paramus was very, very clean and very nice. The people were very friendly. The unit was clean, roomy, and nice-sized. The staff member was a very nice lady. She was very helpful and very informative. They have music, bingo, and shows where people come in to entertain."

"I am both a nephew and my aunt's POA. After an exhausting search we settled on CareOne. They are a fine facility. Upper management is reachable and will take the time to discuss any issues which may occur. They are always quick to resolve any of your concerns. The aids are polite and professional. You do have to understand this is not an assisted living facility and the patient to staff ratio tends to be higher because of it. They accept Medicaid and they have undergone several projects to upgrade the interior appearance of the facility (not that it was in bad shape when my aunt first arrived in January of 2017). I would recommend this facility without hesitation."
