"My sister was a resident of CareOne at Parsippany Assisted Living. It's very well-kept and very clean. It's very bright. There's a lot of windows in their facility. All the rooms from the main first floor have several large windows where people go to eat, talk, and do different events like games and bingo and things like that. The staff was very caring, hands-on, and professional. As for the activities, there are a number of them. Every day they have at least one thing, if not multiple things. She told me the food was really good and healthy. They gave you options."

"My mother is in Lincoln Park Renaissance Rehab & Nursing. It's excellent. I'm very happy with them. It's very clean. The staff is awesome. They take very good care of my mother, who is hard to take care of. They're always friendly and always smiling. They have little concerts, they play games, they have art classes, and Zumba. It's very active. There are a few things every day. My mother said the food is very good. The choices are good, and it tastes good."

"While looking for options of senior citizens assistance for my parents I got to Livia. Customer agent via web chat was kind and helpful in providing answers to my queries. As son of senior/ederly parents I want to provide them a wonderful and more enjoyable life for the rest of the time that GOD may have planned for them. Customer agent was very attentive, so I hope the rest of the personnel is as good as him or even better. That would provide a sense of trust and confidence that your love ones will be in good hands."

"My mom moved into Valley View Care Center. There are probably not even 20 patients there, so it's nice. We chose this because of the location and that it was small, so we figured they were more one-on-one. The food is very good. They have an activities director. They have a little bingo room, a little social room where they can go, and a dining room. The facility is very neat and clean. It's an older building, but they keep it well kept. I'm not paying for anything because my mom is still with Medicare."

"My wife was in Barn Hill, and I would say it was a nice place. I thought the care was very good. They even greeted me like an old friend. I liked it. She was in the Alzheimer's section, and they take care of them great. They had a movie almost every day, and when they didn't have a movie, they played games, they had a little activity going on, and we know that most Alzheimer's patients can't do everything. I thought it was a section that was specialized for Alzheimer's or people like that, and it was very good. They don't let them walk alone; the staff there was excellent. It seemed like an older facility. I think it was a nice clean place even as the older section. Anything that was dropped on the floor was quickly picked up; it was clean. Everything seemed to be in order, great. It was good. "

"My father is in Andover Subacute and Rehab II, and it's fine so far. The staff is friendly. There are two people in a room. He has a little bit of dementia, so they monitor him and make sure that he takes his medications. They do physical therapy, they have games, Bingo, cards, art, and they have a salon and haircutting services there."

"The Homestead I feel is one of the best nursing homes in our area for low income patients. I feel they could spend more of their funding on fixing up their building which is quite old and worn down, and makes it seem like it is a lesser quality residence. But, their nursing staff and aides really care about their residents and do all they can to make sure they feel at home, and that they are well taken care of. They have plenty of staff which is a real relief to see these days since most places cut corners, and overwhelm their staff with too many residents. I would assure families that their loved ones would be well taken care of if they were thinking about placing someone in the Homestead. "

"My mom used to be at Merry Heart. The staff was wonderful and did their best. Every time I had a problem, no matter what it was, they were on top of it and couldn't have been more helpful. However, the facility was run down and dirty. They need to put some money into it. It just wasn't clean. My mother was there during hurricane Sandy. There were roof leaks because it really took a hit. I just was surprised that things didn't get fixed quickly enough. The nursing home area is more expensive than the assisted living section. They're making all this money with so many people there, so I wish they'd put a little more back into their facility. "

"I've visited Heath Village, it's beautiful, the people were very friendly, it's like family-focused. They have a studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 2-bedroom with an additional room, and the rooms have balconies. It's a nice facility and most of the apartments were stand-alone, so they're accessible from the street and they're not inside. They also have cottages for independent living, and the assisted living is in one building. The food was excellent, they have multiple activities, and they have a lot of the same amenities as the other places I toured. They do events for family or extended family as well, it's beautiful. They have payment options, and the monthly rent was quite costly, and they do not have Medicare so it's private pay only."

"My grandmother has been at this facility for the past 5 years. She was diagnosed with alzheimer's and we were unable to take care of her. The facility is very clean and the people there are courteous and kind to my grandmother. I dont see any problems with the facility and really appreciate all the hard work the staff does. "

"Nestled within a verdant, bucolic country setting in rural Northern New Jersey, this not-for-profit facility has been practicing and perfecting the art of providing care to the needy, sick, elderly and disenfranchised for over 180 years. Warren Haven's conscious "community of caring" mission is evident the moment one enters the front door. The affection and compassion shown by virtually every staff member is real and tangible, and manifests day in and day out creating a warm, nurturing, mutually respectful environment. My mother arrived there from a for-profit facility in a sad state: confused, malnourished, depressed and frightened. In a little over one year, she has blossomed emotionally and physically, and I attribute her transformation entirely to Warren Haven. Comfortable, cozy and super-clean, Warren Haven offers residents a full array of daily activities, spiritual worship, on-staff chaplain, birthday and life celebrations, theme weeks, hobby groups, and much more. A volunteer community army of over 85 members supports the facility in countless ways. Special family holiday meals are offered, and beautifully prepared and served. A gorgeous strolling garden with koi pond allows for outdoor time with family members. You will achieve ultimate peace of mind with your beloved family member in this superior facility. "

"I will move to The Oaks at Denville. I like that it has a pool even though it's small. The upfront pay is higher, but it's a lower monthly rent. It's very expensive at The Oaks, but I wanted to go where I felt taken care of and safe. The sales department is nice to me. They live there, but the lady that's been setting me up, let me pick out the colors to have my apartment renovated and she's a doll. She's nice. The staff has been good. I went to the cafeteria and did different things. The food was very good. I went there the day I picked out my colors, and I was allowed to go to lunch. I chose grilled cheese and I liked it better if it was multigrain bread. I know that they cook with an eye to not too much salt for everybody. I've gone to meals there where they host informal meetings for the public and gone there a number of times."

"Complete Care at Milford Manor is a clean place. It isn't the best, but it is OK. Some of the staff are very nice. Some of them are not and unhelpful. My father's room is spacious and clean. They have bingo, people that put on shows, and music. The dining area is clean and good. They also have an activities room and a library. Probably one thing they could improve on is to get more staff. I think they're short staffed."

"My wife is at Delaware Valley Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. I like the facility. They have excellent nurses, and they take care of her very well. I'm very happy with the service that they are providing. I have tried the food, too, and she is very happy with the meals there. She doesn't like cornbread but I do, so I ate that because I was there at lunchtime, and it was very good. It's a brand new place, it is only one year old, so everything is in excellent condition. She has been to rehab. They have sort of like a gym. It's not a gym, but it has recovery equipment there that you can use. This place is excellent. I'm very happy with it. Insurance has been taking care of things."

"The facility is run down but relatively clean. There are some excellent nurses and aides that are overworked but genuinely care during the day shift. They are always short staff. The night staff is terrible. My mother was genuinely afraid at times. I spoke to the administrator, several times, who will tell you what you want to hear but nothing changes. My mother said that she was given the incorrect medication one evening and called me in a panic. The nurse came in the room and was quite fresh to her and he asking who she was calling. I was unable to get the hospital to test for the medication as we had no idea what it was other than seizure medication (she was told this by a new nurse). My mom passed a week later."

"My mom was a resident in Holy Manor for almost 3 years after losing the ability to take care of herself and I can tell I have had a piece of mind knowing that mom has great help and care in this Home. I read other reviews about this place. Yes, it is dated, yes, sometimes it is smelly, but what is the most important, visual appearance or people who dedicate themself to help those in need? All the stuff is amazing here: the Helpers, Nurses, The Doctor, Social Workers, Therapists, Administrators, even Receptionists! They all come to work here with one goal, to HELP patients and residents, to make their lives as close to life at home as possible. I can say they all put their hearts into their work. And they give a lot of Love to patients and especially to the residents of the Home. The Doctor and the nurses have always listened to my concerns, always were available for me and my mom if it was needed and always they all have been trying to help. They are amazing people. So, what do you think is more important for your loved one who will be living in a nursing home, 1)super clean place or 2)super caring personnel working there? I choose the second one."
