Assisted Living Communities in Naples, FL

"I chose Brookdale Bonita Springs, but the cost is a bit too much for me to handle right now. The people are very helpful. The administrators are great and very friendly. It's beautifully landscaped and beautifully taken care of. They have very good amenities. In general, it's a decent place to live. They go out of their way to help you. The food was very good. The structure of the building was excellent. I'd give them a ten instead of a five. The rooms are very good sized, especially the studios."

"I toured The American House Coconut Point. They have 112 units for assisted living, 36 units for memory care, and 56 units for independent living, and that proportion just seemed to be off. The tour experience was very thorough. The young man who took me around knew his business. He was very cordial. However, my first impression when I walked in is, "This doesn't feel right." I've had enough experience now, and so I know where I don't fit in. The upkeep was fine. In any place I went, I didn't see anything that suggested it wasn't being taken care of. All of them were all taken care of. However, the rooms looked tired. Several of the rooms we went into were empty, because somebody had moved out or somebody was moving in. They were in the process of being fixed. There were closet doors in two of the rooms that were off track. They have a breakfast room and a bistro. They would provide two meals a day if you are independent. They have a salon onsite. There are paths for walking. Yet, for me, it is just a place I wouldn't move into."

"Canterfield of Fort Myers is a relatively new place. It's very nice. The room was small. My relatives were going to have a unit together in the memory care. They would keep my sister-in-law in memory care and my brother-in-law would be able to be out and about, giving him time to mingle with the regular guests there, so that was a very doable thing. However, it was expensive. The dining area looked very appealing and very adequate, but they didn't have any choices. What was posted is what you'll have, whereas the other place had at least two choices per meal. They had a pool, they had a lot of exercise and activity rooms, and it was pretty spacious. The staff member who gave the tour was very nice."

"We toured The Opal at Lakes Park. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The building is very nice, neat, and clean. They have a nice garden area where people can sit outside. There's a lot of nature out there. It's very nature-like outside. They have a nice porch you can sit on if it's raining. They have a nice area that's all planted in pots with different plants. The food is good. They don't run out of things there, like coffee, cream, and stuff like that. The facility is very pleasant to look at. The living room is very pretty. Everything's done very nicely. They have a good activity department, too."

"We will be putting Dad to American House Fort Myers and we chose it just because of the newness of the facility, the cleanliness, and the amount of residents that they currently had was a smaller amount. The care ratio was very good. It was like 7 residents to 1 caregiver and we liked it for those reasons. As far as the drawbacks or what I like the least about it, I don't have much of an opinion on that because there wasn't anything that stood out to be subpar compared to the other places that I visited. As we get dad in there and kind of see how he does, there may be something that might arise. Everybody's been very friendly. Theresa, who is the intake coordinator, has been very helpful for us and helping us with the process in getting him in and all of his medical information in line. That all went very smoothly. The rooms have a nice open layout, like a studio layout. They have nice floors and they're clean. They have handicap-accessible walk-in showers, which is very nice. So, we anticipate that there's going to be a lot of room for Dad there. We looked over the menu and we learned that they have an in-house chef and they have meals planned out for the entire month, which we appreciated. We liked the fact that he could have a refrigerator and keep food in his room, which is going to work out well, but we haven't tried the food yet. They have a nice, closed courtyard. It's very expansive and it's open around the clock for anyone in memory care to access, which is going to work out well for my dad. They have a nice rec room that we were impressed with. They have two in memory care. One that has kind of an open kitchen where they have food and all kinds of snacks laid out throughout the day. Then they also have one that has a television and a nice fish tank there. I didn't see anything as far as the pool or exercise room, but we wouldn't need that anyway."

"We just recently moved my parents into assisted living at Brookdale Cypress lake. From the moment we walked in the front door, we experienced the true caring of all of the staff from reception to housekeeping nursing activities, and more absolutely the best!!!!!!"

"I love Highpoint at Cape Coral. They're very friendly people. I didn't try the food, but the menu looked really nice. The facility is more established, but still very nice. The rooms were very beautiful inside. The staff was so caring and just wonderful with all the residents."

"I highly recommend this facility for its service and professionalism. Everything from the food to activities, management staff, therapy, and frontline caregivers deserves 5 stars. It is an older building but very well cared for and maintained. I cannot say enough about my exceptional experience at solaris North Naples. The staff was not only friendly, but created a caring family type atmosphere. The staff is extremely attentive and compassionate, I was always greeted with a smile and eventually it became my part-time home away from home. I cannot mention everyone, but I’d like to give special thanks to the nurses, especially Stephanie, Edwige, Sheila, Jean, Wilande and Cathy. Thanks to Jeanny at the desk for always smiling and making it contagious. Thank you to the CNAs especially Marie P, Yrvanna, Joseph, and Mireielle. Also therapy staff Romel, wayne and Maggie were exceptional. they really know how to work with people as individuals towards their goals. Brandy and the entire management team make the building run smoothly and address every need timely and also of course a huge thanks to Dr Elterman who made the experience that much better for someone as sick as I was. I was very fortunate to make friends with some of the long-term residents who seemed very happy in their environment and just as thankful to the staff and exceptional management as I was. When I left the building, I was excited to go home yet I will miss the family I spent over three weeks with. i am forever grateful for the professional, knowledgeable care and rehab i received while a patient there. I would gladly recommend others to receive services from this facility and would certainly return in the future if the need arose."

"I moved into Terracina Grand. I like everything about it. What I don't like is that I need a larger apartment, but that could be the case anyplace. Everything here is fine, though. They have great nursing staff. They have wonderful food. They have people who seem very dedicated to caring for the residents. I'm extremely pleased with this place. Tonight, I had prime rib with baked potato and vegetables. It was prepared perfectly. You could cut it with a fork. It was so good. I had red wine with that and I got a cookie. They seem to have a lot of activities. I'm going to go with the group over to the Coastland Mall tomorrow. They have a nice exercise room with the equipment that I like. They have a pool, which I haven't used. They have transportation to doctors three days a week. They had a nice New Year's Eve party for us, a very nice Christmas party for residents and families, and that was great. I think there is a lot of attention paid to making the residents feel comfortable and happy here. There is an abundance of staff here, so nobody is kind of waiting around hoping that somebody will show up. They send someone over once a week to clean, and I also have someone come in who's been with me for many years, and she helps me out as well. But they do a good job. They have an art group, a reading group, and a group that goes to church. They also have physical therapy."

"Touring Tuscany Villa of Naples was great. There was a good feeling when we came in there. And everything they told us was great. The only thing they don't have is memory care. My sister-in-law could start assisted living and then go to memory care, but they don't have that. The staff was wonderful though. They had so much information. It was awesome. We met some people that work there, and they all seemed nice and very cordial. The lobby was nice. The building is newer and it looks good. The way it was set up, it had a nice feeling to it like you weren't in an institution or something."

"Barrington Terrace of Fort Myers was the best one that I visited. The people that worked there, the facility, and the amount of care needed for my mom would have been perfect, because she was an in-between. They could have provided everything she needed that no one else could. The only reason we didn't choose it was because they only had studio apartments, and I didn't want her living in a studio. Mom was evaluated. They were very kind, caring, and very interested in her needs. They knew specifically what she needed and they could provide it, whereas all of the other memory care facilities I was in, everybody gets shoved in one big place, and it's not good for people like Mom. She still had her mental abilities about her. They took the time to have specific groups of people together. They had different levels there, which was really great. They had people who could have a conversation, even though they had dementia, and none of the other ones had any of that. Nobody that my mom could even talk to in any of the facilities, which is unfortunate. The different groups of people had different dining areas, too, which was important. It was a different atmosphere and a great, clean facility. You didn't smell anybody's dirty diapers. There's none of that. The staff was excellent. The rooms were peaceful and clean. They had things that people could look at. There was activity going on outside of the facility itself. They could watch the delivery trucks and people walking their dogs and things that I think are important, at least in my mom's stage. Everybody was well-groomed. You could just tell that they were well taken care of."

"Springwood Court is a very small, homey residence with around 85 patients. The unit was one large room with a little kitchen and a bath. The place was very clean, and it smelled fresh. The people in the community seemed very happy, and the workers were very friendly. We have not tried the food, but the menus looked very appealing. We also saw them engaged in a lot of different activities. At that time they were having a performance by a man. They were all listening and seemed very engaged. It was very nicely decorated for Christmas. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful."

"My mother moved in Shell Point Larsen Pavilion in August of 2006 and died in December of 2010. My father and I liked them very much and I give them two thumbs up. We thought they did a good job. They had activities there. I liked that there were facilities that my dad and I could take her out to lunch or supper which we did at least once a week. "

"The rooms are fine and easy to get around even in a wheelchair. My mom does not have a problem. The food is good and staff is caring. They have activities for their residents like play bingo,scrabble, exercise time,and uno. You could get some fresh air and some sun if you choose. The staff makes you feel comfortable and caring so this is the place to be in. Great job to all staff and management and I especially don't have to worry about mom I know she's being taking care of."
