Assisted Living Communities in North Fort Myers, FL

"My friend is moving in at The Waters of Cape Coral this month. It was very well-appointed. Everybody was very friendly. It was more like a hotel setting. Everything about the place was just done very, very well, including the dining areas and the rooms. It was just beautiful. The staff was all very helpful. They have a gym and a salon for anybody that wants to get their hair done. They just offer a lot of amenities and different areas for recreation. It would be near restaurants, and there's Cape Coral Hospital nearby."

"American House Fort Myers was very clean and all of the amenities that anybody would need were there. All of the staff was very nice and friendly and the patients were well-groomed. Some were walking around, which is what I like. They're not just thrown in a wheelchair. The price was good and the manager there is very well-qualified for her job. At first, I was looking for memory care and then, as my husband got tested, it was going to be assisted living. All the activities change per day and they also have cognitive activities. The surrounding was very clean and very beautiful with light cheerful colors. There was no odor, either. It was a happy place."

"It was a very nice place and it's very new. It opened in September. It would be a place that I would go if I could. They have all day dining. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. they offer meals. You go to the main dining room and you can get what you want. They will do your laundry, they come in and clean, and they also offer seminars. They have activity rooms. The food was delicious. The staff that I met was very nice and congenial. There's nothing bad that I could say about it. It's all good."

"Amavida Senior Living is a brand new facility, lovely, and we talked to some of the staff that were walking in the halls, and they seemed to be happy working there. We talked to a couple of residents, too. We got to have lunch there and we took a tour with 2 different sales associates, one who was experienced and one who was learning the ropes. They had a hair styling salon on property which we liked because my mother-in-law uses that service. The lunch at the cafeteria or restaurant was lovely, we liked the pool, and the rooms were very nice. It's the number one in our list, and we're looking forward to moving my mother-in-law there."

"We toured Alva Senior Living. I went and looked at all the rooms and what they have. We met with the director of the senior living section. We just walked through the whole thing, and she told us all about it, and we asked questions, and she answered all of them. The rooms were small, but they're very nice. They furnish everything except a mattress. So you don't have to bring your own furniture. They have rooms with big bathrooms and rooms with small bathrooms. We toured the dining area. They only have five people right now, and they're only gonna have a total of 16 when they're full. It's a very small unit. It was as clean as it could be. They have a big common room on the front of the building, and at one end is the dining room, which has a big long table with chairs, and it was decorated with fresh roses. It was very pretty. I didn't actually go into the kitchen, but I talked to the cook who was standing at the door, and she said they cook everything there. They don't buy any premade stuff. They have an area where, if somebody wants something during the day, like a snack or something to drink, or if they want something to eat, they can go and request it, and they can get it during the day if they want that. The staff was really good, answered our questions, and were very friendly. They're new, so they're just getting started. It was very nice."

"We did a tour here, and we enjoyed that. We met with the lady there and she was fabulous. She covered all the bases, all our questions, and then some. So, we were really satisfied with that. The rooms were a little small, but the place was clean and friendly. They had a lot of activities. It was a place that we would have if we could have stayed in assisted living. We probably could have put my brother there. This was during the evening hours or late afternoon, and they were all eating a meal. So, there weren't any activities going on at that time, but they explained to us that there were a lot of weekly activities there. The living atmosphere was great. It was clean, and there was plenty of room, and space to move around. You have a place other than your room to go to, they had an outside garden and activity center. It was nice."

"American House Coconut Point was very nice. What stood out to us was the fact that you didn't have to tell them what time you wanted to eat dinner. The living atmosphere was very nice. They had activities, but we didn't stay long enough to see them. We saw the pool and the gym because we're interested in those. It was very clean, too."

"We’re so thankful we found Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles for our mom! It’s a smaller, welcoming community that truly feels like home, with a caring staff that treats residents like family. Her apartment is just the right size, with a beverage fridge/freezer and a microwave, offering a bit of independence with support close by. From Wendy’s warm welcome to the attentive care from Jessica, Mikey, Donna, Scott and the rest of the team, we’ve felt peace of mind every step of the way. It may not be the biggest or flashiest place, but the personal touch and genuine care make all the difference!"

"My first impression was very positive. It was welcoming. I could tell the people were very positive. We saw people that were staying there, and they were engaging. About the staff who toured us, I don't even know that I can say enough good things about her. Her name was Mary, and she was a rock for us. There were a couple of different rooms that we were shown, and I remember that they seemed to be what we were looking for Dad. I just can't remember anything specific because it wasn't furnished yet and there was remodeling going on. We did not sample the food, but we saw the places where people were eating. It was positive. I didn't get into their activities, but people were talking with each other. There were areas where people were reading, and there were some areas where people had been working on puzzles and things like that."

"This community is beautiful! When I drove on campus I thought I was heading into a resort. I can only speak to the Independent Living, which is the main part of the campus. While one building looks a little older than the other - both are clean, well kept and have the largest apartments we have seen so far. They offer things that many other communities in this area do not currently offer. We were very impressed with our visit and look forward to becoming residents."

"We liked that American House Bonita Springs had a park-like setting, and that all the apartments had individual lanais. Those were the two big things that we really liked about it in comparing it to other places that we saw. The apartment had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. The staff member during the tour was very personable, very nice, and knowledgeable. She took us on a full tour of the facility. They had a beautiful pool with a walking ramp and a firepit by the poolside. It was very nice."

"My wife has therapy at Courtyard Assisted Living 3 times a week. They seem to take good care of people there. They give her two meals a day and also coffee sometimes. My wife likes the people there. I would suggest Courtyard to other people. "
