She's got a couple of nasty nurses there. I think it's a nice, clean place, but she doesn't like the food, and said it's horrible. She lost weight over it."

She can be busy or she can sit in a room when she wants to. She loves the food and she gained about 10 lbs. "

"My mother is in Evans Health Care. It's been okay so far. It's been fine. She has no complaints about the food. She seemed to be okay in her room. She received therapy when she first came in, but she's not having it right now, and I felt that she should have it longer. They don't have a lot of activities going, and that's one of my main concerns, she doesn't have enough to keep her occupied. They have an outside courtyard, but she can only go out there if I'm here to visit."

"We had visited the Arbor which was part of the same company that runs King's Crown at Shell Point, so decided to check it out as well, as an option for my friend's mother. Just like the other facility, the grounds resembled a resort. The exterior featured well manicured lawns and a fresh, Spanish look. Plenty of space for residents to enjoy social gatherings, also with a lovely Roman type fountain. The resort level amenities included what you would find while vacationing, such as tennis, boating, hiking and other outdoor activities. They also regularly visit local restaurant favorites, the public library and movies - and take day trips into the surrounding regions. The nurse's station looked more like s hotel lobby, with an elegant, modern, decor. The common areas had a modern, spacious design. The formal seating area had a nice, cozy fireplace. There were many places for residents to enjoy a variety of activities, from general socializing to games, billiards, reading and media. The dining area was restaurant like, but still gave off a vibe of hominess. The meals we saw looked very appetizing. The snacks all looked delicious and healthy. The private housing options included a variety of floor plans. This facility reminded us of a stylish, upscale condo or resort community more than anything else, but with staff to see that the residents' specific needs were met as necessary. "

"My mother is in Winkler Court for rehab right now. She has only been there for a day. So far, everything is good. The staff was very good. It's an Alzheimer's unit in a rehab center. She has a room that is hospital like, and the dining room is also hospital like. They have books and TV, and they do card games. She went to rehab a couple of times there. She was in the hospital, they gave us a couple of choices, and that's the one that had a memory care unit. She has Alzheimer's, so we figured out it will be better for her. "

"The Gulf Coast Medical Center Skilled Nursing Unit was the first place my brother went to after he came out of the hospital. He was in the hospital for six weeks and he went to The Gulf Coast rehab. The place was gorgeous, beautiful, and clean. The food was good. They gave him great care. I have no complaints. It's too bad they weren't a nursing home where we could have kept him there. I would have loved that. He was there for about a month when he came out of the hospital, and then they were going to try to find a nursing home for him and he fell out of bed and fractured his wrist, so he had to stay for another three weeks. He was there for quite a while. The staff was very responsive, very good and very nice. He thought the food was great. He was not in the position to be active in a lot of activities. They did a lot of rehab with him because he couldn't even get out of a chair and he couldn't walk. He was in pretty tough shape. Most of his activities were exercises and he loved them. The facilities were lovely, beautiful, clean, very handy for us to get to, and it's close to home. I thought it was a very nice place. Everything was covered by his insurance. They took care of everything. They took care of his medication and everything that was involved in nursing. He loved it. He was wishing he could stay there."

"My dad is in The Preserve. He's only been there during the COVID, so basically I can't go in any farther than the front door, but doing everything sort of by remote, by telephone call and stuff. They have treated my father extremely nice there. Their staff has been helpful, they return phone calls, they answer all my questions, and I can visit my dad for an hour once a week on their patio. Everybody from their front desk, to the nurses, and administration have all been very, very nice. I would recommend it to anybody who needed a nursing home. I know they have assisted living there, but my dad hasn't been involved with that. Overall we were very pleased."

Some of the staff have been good, and others not so good. She's had some things she's asked for and she still hasn't received them. The facilities are very clean. They have a hair salon, nails, and bingo. They have people come to sing there."
