"My sister moved into American House Coconut Point. It was the closest. It's about 4 minutes away from me. I can go visit her every day. The staff members are very nice. Everybody has been very helpful, polite, and accommodating. There didn't seem to be a huge selection of food, but everything looked good. It took a really long time to be served, and that was the worst thing about it. The cost is expensive."

"Toured this community for my brother. I was extremely impressed by the Sales Director. He was able to answer all my questions. As this was my first experience looking into senior living, it really put me at ease. He was able to make me feel comfortable and brought up things I hadn't even thought to consider. Thank you."

"My mother will be moving in. Everybody was awesome and very kind. The residents were well taken care of. Everybody looked awesome. It didn't smell. It smelled great. We went through the dining room at lunchtime, and the food looked awesome. My mom's apartment is gorgeous. It's one bedroom with a balcony, so she can sit out outside any time she wants. I loved everything about it. The dining area was clean and well-lit. Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. The residents appeared happy. They were very friendly and outgoing. They were the kind of people I wanted my mom to be around. The people that work there are nice too. They offer meals. They have trips that they go on, games, a card area, a game room, and bingo. It looked like a very active lifestyle for somebody who was 90 years old. I'd like to move in there. It looks so much nicer than my house. Plus, they have housekeeping."

"I visited and I saw Pam and spent a couple of hours there seeing what they had and what they didn't have, and how they handle the people and the activities that they have. They were tied up yesterday because they were getting vaccination shots and they were all excited and happy about that. The staff members were very good and professional. I liked that you could visit every day, but for now I only get to visit once a week because they have to bring the people outside, and you can't go inside the facility. That is very cumbersome. The facility looked good and decent. The rooms looked decent and proficient. It seems like it is a very congenial group, and the staff is very professional, and so I think it is going to be an excellent choice for my wife."

"We toured here, and everything was beautiful. There were quite a few activities. It is different than the assisted. They have pool tables, a swimming pool, a fitness room, and a dining area. The apartment was beautiful, very clean, brand new, a nice size, very updated, and modern. The dining area was very clean, nice, and modern. The staff was very helpful and gave a great tour."

"My father-in-law was at Gulf Coast Village, and they were wonderful there to him. He was there for rehabilitation, and they were great. They also have assisted living, too. The good thing about Gulf Coast is the people who worked in occupational therapy and physical therapy were the same ones that he had four years earlier. Very well run facility, and the people are very pleasant. The people would tell you it's a good place to work besides being good with them. There are no odors or anything. Very, very clean, and they were always mopping, and the nursing staff was all very friendly. I couldn’t find one bad thing to say about Gulf Coast, and my father-in-law even said if he ever had to go anywhere, that's where he'd want to go. From the nurses down to anybody who cleaned the floor, they're all very pleasant, very nice people. "

"From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome. The receptionist knew exactly who my uncle was once I gave his name. She was very nice and even told me how wonderful my uncle is. As I waited for my other family members to arrive before going up to the room, I walked around the main building. It was great to see how clean their dining room was and how much of a variety the menu had. There was a library that was full of books, and an excersice room. Everything was very well organized and clean. Several of the employees approached me to make sure that I had been greeted and taken care of, which I found very considerate. Once my other family members arrived, one of the employees escorted us to the elevator. This employee was extremely nice and very pleasant to talk to. We finally arrived at my uncle's room and I was amazed. I was expecting the room to look like a typical shabby hotel room but, instead, it was very unique and he was able to decorate it just the way he wanted. Overall, I was very impressed not only with the facility, but with the employees as well. "

"Sandpiper Run was very clean, fresh smelling, well kept, and very well organized. When I arrived, they were having sort of a tenant meeting in the lobby, which is a good sign because people get to voice their ideas and opinions. There was an outside patio, a lanai, a swimming pool, a game room, a library, and computer access. The apartments have grab bars in the bathroom, smoke alarms, emergency alarms, and carbon monoxide detectors. They were nicely decorated and themed. I do not have any criticisms or problems with it."

"The staff was wonderful, but I found the environment a bit stale, a common feeling I had about all of the places we visited, but this seemed more like a hospital than some of the others. We ended up going to another facility, but I would recommend this one to anyone in the area who was looking for a place to take their loved one. There were several amenities that were very nice, and the seniors were treated with respect. I didn't get to see the rehab aides in action, but I did see that the staff was professional and seemed to have character and integrity. Overall the facility was about a four out of five stars. The tour was short but very informative. I felt that I was given all of the information I needed to make the decision at hand. "

"My mom has been at The Palms of Fort Myers for a few months now. I'm impressed with it. It is a nice big place. She has plenty of room to wander, and so it ended up working out well. I like that it's an active community. They have continuous activities going on. The staff seems like they care about the residents, spending a lot of time with them. They are very good and very attentive to the residents, and very hands-on. They pay attention to their residents a lot. The nurses too are very kind to us and are very good to my mother, really monitoring how she is doing. If they noticed something was different, they got on it and got to the doctor and they changed her medication. Her room is big, especially compared to some that I had looked at. What I still don't like about it is that once I left there, it was very hard to get in touch with my mother. It always seems to be a big deal. The woman that runs that floor gives out her cell phone number, but it's very hard to get her because she is always doing activities and doing things, so she can't always answer her phone. And that was one of my big complaints in the beginning. The staff is wonderful, but they're understaffed. I saw that they had sing-alongs and exercise classes. There was one time when they had a band in and memory care was able to go out and be with assisted living and independent living to watch that along with them. In some of the activities, they actually can go out and see more people. It was big enough so that there were several people there that they could make friends with. I didn't eat there because we're not supposed to go in there and eat with them. But from what I saw, the food looked really good. I know my mother is very happy with it. I saw the soup and it looked good. "

"The activities at Hidden Oaks are great! My mother is very outgoing and social, so i was worried she wouldnt adjust well to moving her from her normal circles. But the staff here made it much easier by letting her set up her spacious room just the way she liked it, and planning fun activities like Zumba workouts. The food is so much better than even I normally eat. It's all fresh, and served in the beautiful dining hall. I highly recommend anyone looking into assisted living for a relative to take a tour of Hidden Oaks and see for your self. "

"Cypress Cove was near Healthpark which is a hospital here in town. It is probably about 10 or 15 years old. I like the way the person I talked to presented herself. She gave me a lot of information on what's available and pricing and how to go about it. I went to one of the rooms that are available and the types of rooms that they have available which were very nice. Everything about the facility was very nice. The rooms were good. They could be furnished but on the norm, they were unfurnished but the rooms were a decent size and they were very nicely done. There were some card games and then they had a small library. They had a function computer area and they had a nice, big courtyard in the back of the facility that they could be outdoors. "

"I’ve bought a home here in Jamaica Bay and I'm very well satisfied with it. These are homes not a building. I have two bedrooms but there so many here with three and four bedrooms. It’s very good and it works fine for me. I like it very well I’ve had no problem. I would recommend it for certain people. I’m very independent but I can’t drive a car so I’ve got to go off cart and I can go to Wal-Mart to do my shopping and things. It’s close so it’s very convenient for me. There are restaurants around here like McDonald’s and Burger King; and the hospital is not over five miles. They just have about everything here. They’ve got all kinds of clubs here for boating, golf, chess, poker; you name it they’ve got a club for it. "
