"I have chosen here but I haven't moved in yet. The first thing we noticed when we went on a tour is how happy the people that were there in talking to each other and communicating. That was one of the big things. The price was another, and that was the second thing. They've been very helpful in helping me set up the room and anything else I needed. I'm happy with the size of my room. I don't need a lot, but it has a bathroom and a screened-in porch. I'm on the first floor. I've got furniture delivered there from Wayfair, and they said they'd handle it. And I'm going to have furniture moved down on the 15th from where I am, and they said to let them know and they'll have dollies out and things ready to move them to the room for me. All in all, they've been very, very, very helpful. The staff members have been very friendly. Everybody speaks to me and introduces themselves. They're very, very nice. They have a laundry room on the second floor, and they have a library, which is important to me. They even told me if I knew when the TV was coming, they were going to connect it for me. And my tour was complete."

"I've visited the Grand Villa of Sarasota. The floor plans in the rooms were excellent, with kitchenettes that were nice. I was looking at a two-bedroom and they were very nicely laid out. The staff was excellent and the activities and their program plans were full. So there wasn't a lack there. I like the idea that if you go from independent living to assisted living, you don't move, but their assisted living comes to you. I like its location, it's close to town, and they have transportation services available to go to the grocery store or places. If you're ambulatory, it's an easy walking distance from the town with outdoor cafes and stuff. So it was quite nice. It was under relatively new ownership and the facility was being renovated."

"Alderman Oaks Retirement Center is a locally run facility. It is a fairly small 3-story building. They provide meals. They have limited care as far as nursing backup, but they do have monitoring capability on a 20-minute basis. They are very warm and friendly people. "

"We toured Grand Living at Wellen Park, and the villas were very nice. However, we didn't like the ground floor, location, and the view from the apartment. We didn't like all of them. The villas were located on a public road, just a nice residence on a major, noisy road that was under construction to make it wider for more cars. The location was in a new town that was under construction. The person who took us around was excellent."

"Towers of Venice was new. It was beautiful. I had lunch there and the people were nice. I talked to one resident and he was quite happy there. So, he'd been there for two years. They had fantastic facilities and I was very impressed with them. They were also cheaper than where I live now. They have a fantastic exercise room with multiple types of exercise equipment, and I was impressed with that. I don't have that here in my place, and that's one thing that I really miss. There was just one staff member that I met, and that was a lady that invited us to have lunch. She's very nice and very helpful. That's what her job is. So, you would not expect anything less. She knew her business and that's why it was an easy visit. The food that I had there was adequate I can't say anything bad about it. It was good, but I wouldn't say it was fantastic by any means. The lady covered everything. She showed me the room that I was looking for, a studio type room and so far, I'm impressed with the place. It was very clean."

"My father has moved into Jacaranda Trace. They're wonderful. He's in a building that has a blend of both memory care and assisted living. The other building is full blown memory care. Everything is great. They will take them to appointments, and they have a cafe and a kitchen where they make snacks."

"I will be moving into Willow Creek Apartments. They're not luxury apartments, but they're affordable and decent. They have two nice, good-sized bedrooms, and two bathrooms. So if my children visit, they'll have a bedroom and bathroom to use. It's not that big of an apartment, but it's basic and decent. They have a stove and a refrigerator. They don't have a microwave. They have a dishwasher too. The staff was great. They have a pool. They do allow pets."

"My sister moved to North Port Pines. I love it because it's clean, no smell, and the people are very nice and very professional. The meals were good. I tasted the food and everything. I liked the taste of the food and it was very satisfying. The staff was very helpful and very loving to all the patients. The amenities looked like a hotel. They have bingo, they have ball games, and they watch TV. The young people come in and mingle with the older people."

"My mother-in-law was in this facility for two months, and the only reason we removed her from it was that her condition worsened and she needed 24-hour nursing care that an ALF could not provide. We spent a lot of time there with her, and we were very pleased with the caregiving staff, the facility itself, the management, and also the dining. It is a beautiful, clean, friendly place with lots of activities for residents at various levels of independence. We only wish we had moved her there sooner so that she could have had more enjoyment of everything that was available to her there. "

"I am currently staying at Aston Gardens. The staff is very congenial. The food is fine. The room is very good. The surround is well maintained and clean. "

"My mom was at Village on the Isle for rehab. It was a different feel because she had to share a room. Nevertheless, the staff was wonderful and went above and beyond for us. We had some things we're dealing, but they helped us out. The food was not as good as where she is now. Activities were a little bit different because my mom was doing more physical therapy. It was a different atmosphere but good as well. The physical therapy seemed good. The cost was covered by insurance."

"I visited Village Place. My mom chose to live there, and she moved in last February. As opposed to having one whole dining room, I like the idea that they have like cluster dining rooms throughout the facility. She likes that too because you get to know a small group of people better. The staff there, as well as the people who managed the medicine is very friendly. They were very open to my mom and they were very in tuned with her. They were just very friendly and it was an open kind of place to visit. They do have a separate memory care wing which is nice. If mom should ever begin to need that extra attention, it is right there in the building, but it is a separate unit within the building. They are well maintained, and they had just place fresh carpeting in my mom's place. It is a very well maintained facility. "

"I will move to the Bay Indies. They have social activities there, so that's the main thing that I like there. They have three pools. They have bocce balls. They have a kayak river that you can go down, tennis, and all the stuff that those kinds of places have. The real estate lady was very nice. She lives there and loves it. They're very good. It's very neat. All the houses are neat."

"San Marco have people that work on the property in case of emergency, but they're more independent living than assisted. They do have a bus that comes in once a week that would take the residents to the grocery store. "
