Assisted Living Communities in Englewood, FL

"It was an excellent facility. The staff was respectful and everybody was so nice there. They have a beauty salon; I heard it’s very good. They have an exercise room, they have a pool. They have everything there and there are a lot of things to do. I think it’s the best clean place I’ve ever seen. It's a beautiful place; one should take a tour. I got to talk to some residents and they loved it there. They looked busy and I think they’re happy or they wouldn’t be there; they would be at someplace else. I am pleased. "

"Absolutely wonderful in every way. I have been a resident for two months and I have observed how the staff treats residents. The nursing, physical therapy, food, and activities are superb. They treat you so kind and are always enthusiastic about their job. Activities every day and a super clean facility. I would admit my loved ones here because of my experience. GREAT PLACE!"

"The Goldton at Venice was brand new. It's in the middle of what's going to be a construction site for a lot of years, but it looked like a cruise ship. It's very nice. There's a shopping center going in across the street that at this point is a vacant field, all ploughed up and ready to go. The facility itself owns a huge field next door where there's an expanding sign on it. It too will be under construction and that's annoying. It's also too far away. They were lovely people and it's a lovely place, but if it were in Englewood, it would be great. It was elegant and very nice. It had probably everything anybody would need and it's huge. Everything was huge in it. The hallways were probably 50 feet wide. Everybody there looked very happy. It's out in the country. The staff during the tour was lovely. Everything about it was lovely. It's fairly expensive, but they all are. I just don't want to live that far away and I don't want a construction site for the rest of my life. We saw an empty apartment, and it was luxurious. It was two little rooms put together and it was more than adequate. Everything about it was very nice. It didn't seem like an assisted living place at all. We saw the art room, which was a big room, all very sunny, all very nice, but it didn't have a whole lot of equipment yet. There was a table of four ladies who were chattering and seemed to be having a nice time. They're all old, but they were pretty healthy looking. Their food arrangement was very livable. There were several plans. You could either get three meals or two meals. It's an open kitchen from noon to 11:00 or something like that, where you could get anything you want at any time. It was very flexible. The whole thing was very livable, especially if you're healthy. The kitchen looked all very new and was full of visible chefs and they were all young and seemed busy. They were going great guns for lunch. There were several very nice dining facilities in varying degrees, from very casual to pretty fancy. They were all very nice and gave a lot of options. It was like living in a hotel or a cruise ship. The furniture was very nice. The place was kind of spread out. The ceilings were enormous. Everything was really big. They had a very nice pool and it's very nice outside. I was very impressed, especially with the one person that we met. Somebody greeted us and called her, and they were perfectly nice and what you'd expect."

"The apartments at Lexington Manor are a little bigger than average, but they don’t have a pool. The facility is very nice and the staff are friendly. "

"Jean showed us around the Grand Villa of Port Charlotte, and I really liked her. I also met one of the cooks and some other people who work there, and I liked everyone. Their food was awesome. They're renovating everything right now, but it was still clean. There was no mess in the room. They have a dog park, and they're putting in a library inside, a coffee place, a movie theater, and a fitness room. They're over $1,000 a month less than the other place I visited."

"I like that Parkside Assisted Living and Memory Care is new and that it's close to two hospitals. The staff members who assist my mother every day are very nice. They take time to talk to you, too. I don't know about the food. Some of it that I saw is not really what my mom likes. The cleanliness of the building is very good. It's like six or seven years old, and it's built well. My mom hasn't been there very long, so we haven't seen a lot of their activities. However, the past few times I've been there, she has been in some kind of group with other residents there, so the activities seemed good. The rooms are very nice. The way they have the whole thing laid out is pretty nice. Overall, it's close, it's affordable, and it's right across the street from two hospitals."

"Vick Street Manor was nice and a small place. They only have 50 people right now. It's just quiet, there's not a lot going on. The tour I did of their assisted and memory care was wonderful and the director was very nice. She was a great person. The rooms were nice with separate bathrooms and a living room area. Some rooms even have a balcony or a screened-in porch. They were nice. They had 2 different places for dining. One was for wheelchair people and then there was another dining room for people who were in walkers and things like that. There were two separate areas and it was nice. They do happy hour Fridays, movies on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and they have a game day on Wednesdays. They do a lot of stuff there. The director's been there for 15 years. She was very on top of her game and was very nice. The upkeep looks great too. I didn't find anything wrong with anything, everything looked good."

"My mother-in-law loves Brookdale assisted living! We considered other options but once touring the facility, we were all impressed with the small family feel of Brookdale. My mother in law loves that it’s all one level and can navigate through the facility easily. She also loves the staff members and the one on one attention she gets. It really has been a life saver for me and my husband. The transition was so smooth. We couldn’t have done it without the help from the staff members."

"The Courtyard could be my choice because they allow cats, which is my mother's only concern. Right now, I'm still on hold for Medicaid Diversion Program. I'm just waiting for the funding from state of Florida so I could get her in some place. The staff, as far as that goes, is very helpful, and they seem to have more connections as far as getting the funding done. They're very helpful and attentive to my mom's health and needs. She would get good care there. "

"Mommy just moved in and couldn't be HAPPIER! Her apartment IS an apartment not just a room. The entire staff has made her feel like family already. Heron Club is a home not a facility. It's clean, the grounds are beautiful, and I love that my mom is a bike ride away. Activities all day long - doesn't get any better than this. Merry Christmas to all!"

"I have been to Savannah Grand. It is very beautiful. They had curtains there, and everyone is very helpful and very light-hearted. They didn’t have very big rooms, but they’re enough room for a living room and a bedroom. They had a lovely porch and a big window on the main street. They could watch golfers and see the traffic go by. They had a very, very nice place. The rooms were very clean. The people were friendly and talkative. They didn’t mind giving us time. They were very wonderful people. It just couldn’t be nicer. "

"I made my husband a new home at Angels Senior Living at Sarasota. He loves it. He is in assisted living, and he has a one-bedroom apartment. He does a lot of activities. He has made some new friends. He does like it. This place would be a very good option for those looking for a place for their loved ones. The staff they have there are very friendly and helpful. I've tried their food and it's very good. For activities, they have entertainers, comedians, and piano players. They have games, trivia, and bingo. They have movie nights and social hours. We are very happy there."

"Brookdale Phillippi Creek was a good one. We liked it. They gave us an apple pie and it was very nice. It was good. They gave us a box. They even gave us a pie cutter and some paper plates. It's a nice little gift set. They were very nice. They had a nice little courtyard. The facility wasn't as big as the others, but it was still nice. They had a very good activity there. The lady that did the activity was super nice and they're the ones that were telling us that when it comes to the meals, they try to get the people to come out, to go to the cafeteria, and to eat. They don't encourage them to eat in the room. They want them to be social, which was a very nice thing to hear. There was a gentleman there who tried to find things for them to do, like creating something. Sometimes the residents suggest what they would like to do. So, they seem to listen to the people."

"My first visit was earlier this year when my family was looking for a new home for our mom. I was impressed by the people working there and the quality of services provided and the food. We decided to bring her here. Ever since, I have NOT regretted at all. This is the best place for our mom. "
