I am a volunteer at Brookdale Punta Gorda. I choose to spend my time here due to its amazing staff and residents! It’s a smaller community and the staff care for the residents like they are their own relatives! It’s delightful to see some of the relationships that are in place. As for me, I enjoy the variety of folks that live there. Some have become dear friends! They are always so excited to see me and we have a blast just chatting - the stories of the full lives of these folks are a delight to listen to. I think Brookdale PGI is a gem in our quaint town!

My Mom has been a resident here for some time. She has been given great personal care and attention. The staff from the top down always welcomes myself, other family members, and Mom's friends to participate in events and visit anytime. Mom celebrated her birthday with the other residents making it a special day for her. Mom uses the facility's grounds, an outdoor area landscaped with flowers and trees, a covered screened porch and even an outside water view area. Brookdale at Punta Gorda Isles is a safe, clean and nurturing home, that gives us all peace of mind that she is in good hands.

Brookdale PGI have various floor plans. My Dad was in the largest room and transitioned to a smaller room. He liked both rooms. He loved the food and liked that he had the opportunity to select his meals. The caregivers were amazing. They provided him with love and phenomenal care. Brookdale PGI makes you feel at home. I visited numerous facilities and knew immediately that Brookdale PGI was the perfect place for my Dad. He loved the activities, especially the music. I highly recommend that if you are looking for an assisted living facility for you or loved one please visit Brookdale PGI. I learned quickly that it is not about the size or amenities…It is about the level of care that is provided.

Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles was nice and clean. It was a friendly and warm environment. The residents seemed happy and very energetic about what they had, enjoying their activities. The staff was very good, informative, and forthright. She let us ask any kind of question that we had and answered them fully and completely. They have suites, and they're very nice. They renovate every time each person leaves, so that was very nice to know. You could tell they were in the middle of moving someone. We saw a revamped or remodeled suite, which was done very well. The dining area was fine. It's assigned seating and accommodates all residents. Their menu seemed to be adequate.

My mom had a series of medical issues that necessitated her move to an independent living facility followed by an assisted living facility. She originally moved to a larger and brand new facility after her medical issues. While the facility was brand new, we soon found that my mom was getting lost within the larger confines of the new facility. She was unhappy and generally uninvolved in the community, which was routinely devoid of people. As a result, we started looking at other options, leading us to the Brookdale. My mom loved the Brookdale from the first time she saw it with us, as did we! The minute we walked in, the difference was obvious. The staff and residents were visible, with residents occupying a number of the sitting and recreational spots at the facility. Step forward to today, my mom has met so many more people through the amazing and encouraging staff. She is happy there, and the attention she is getting is superb! We love this great small community!

My mother-in-law loves Brookdale assisted living! We considered other options but once touring the facility, we were all impressed with the small family feel of Brookdale. My mother in law loves that it’s all one level and can navigate through the facility easily. She also loves the staff members and the one on one attention she gets. It really has been a life saver for me and my husband. The transition was so smooth. We couldn’t have done it without the help from the staff members.

After touring Brookdale of PGI in the fall of 2023, I knew this was the home my mother would be happy in. We moved her from a facility in New England to Brookdale shortly after touring. The first couple of months where rough medically for my mother but Brookdale did a fabulous job keeping her happy and healthy! She has thrived immensly.. The staff are all wonderful and they clearly wear many hats..always smiling, eager to chat, to listen and to help! The facility is clean and always is decorated beautifully.. My mom loves her new home! Thank you Brookdale!

We are so very happy with everything at Brookdale Punta Gorda!! My father wasn't keen on going into assisted living, but he has changed his mind totally after settling in. He is so happy. There are many daily activities, his room is very nice and overlooks a courtyard with flowers and birds. The entire staff are genuinely caring and happy to be working there. The food is prepared by a talented Chef who has even made dad liver and onions for him specially. This is a fabulous home for your loved ones!

After helping elderly relatives locate and move to independent, assisted living, and memory care units, I'm now in the position of considering when and where I would want to go when I need the same assistance. One thing I learned helping my family is that you need to know where you want to go before the need is imminent. Of the locations I've considered in Punta Gorda, Florida, Brookdale Senior Living Punta Gorda Isles would be my first choice. I am impressed by the attitude of the leadership and their emphasis on professionalism and providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. That attitude carries over to the staff who treat you like family. A neighbor recently moved there and is very happy. Other people I've talked with always say how wonderful the facility is and recommend it without reservations.

My 94-year old Mother is at Brookdale and could not be happier. The administration is very professional and responsive. The nursing and care giving staff could not be more compassionate and capable. They truly treat the residents like treasured family members. They monitor the health and wellness of my Mom and partner with her medical professionals to address any issues. They keep me apprised of any health concerns and work together with me to make sure my Mom is happy and healthy. Having my Mom at Brookdale provides me with peace of mind that is invaluable.

My mom is at Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles. Mary and Wendy are fantastic, and my mom's nurses are awesome. My mom also likes their food. She eats it, and she doesn't complain. Her apartment is more than adequate. She has a full bedroom set. She has a separate seating area. She has a mini kitchen and a full bathroom. It's more than ample. In terms of amenities, they have seating areas. You could sit outside, and you could sit inside. They have an arts and crafts room, and they have a room for puzzles. It's very well laid out. They have games, they had a 4th of July party, and they have a Halloween party. They have a lot of activities. I like them. It's not too small and it's not too big to feel like you're at home.

My mom is a resident of Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles. I walked in and it smelled like freshly baked cookies. It was clean and comfortable. It was more like somebody's home. There's a lot going on. It's not a big place, which was wonderful. I knew my mom was going to get more attention than in some big place. With regards to food, my mom has obtained a lot of weight. She was forgetting to eat lunch and stuff, and so she's eating really good right there. For activities, she loves bingo. They were saying how she loves to join, and whatever they have going on at that time, she is just all over it. They go outside, they do bingo, and they have movies and stuff. She's in with all that stuff. The lady that organizes the activities works so hard. My mom's room is great. We made sure she's got the biggest one there. She has a fabulous view of the canal, which is lovely. She has two windows that have a canal view. She is in a very nice place. I think the staff are all very caring, and I think they go above and beyond.

Safety, Comfort and Exceptional Care!! Brookdale PGI has been there from the beginning to help our family make the best choice for our dad! Dad is 88 and we had been noticing small things dad began doing that were out of the norm for him. He started napping more, watching TV all day, stopped meeting with his friends and taking care of his garden. We called Brookdale PGI and they guided us through this new and overwhelming new world of Assisted Living. All of us siblings were confident after our research and speaking with the sales manager several times that this was the best choice for dad. The moment you walk into Brookdale PGI you notice the sense of community. It is charming and has all the comforts of home. It is the closest thing to home we could find for dad. There are only 42 residents total and it is all one level. His favorite spot is the enclosed porch/lanai. He spends hours there with other residents, sharing, laughing and just enjoying the garden area and camaraderie with everyone. Dad is resembling his old self again! One of my favorite events is the once a month Family Night. There is live entertainment with a local artist. I love watching the residents sing the golden oldies together and even get up and dance! Dad lights up when he dances!! Our family is extremely happy with the exceptional care the entire staff provides to not only our dad but to all of the residents. I always say to Dad, "Dad they treat you like a King!" and his reply is, "Yes, they treat me very well." We couldn't be happier! If you are looking for the right home for your parent, look no further! Janee S. - Daughter of Resident

I toured Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles. We liked the location of the facility, and the woman who did the tour was very nice and helpful. They have a game room. The people that I met were all really nice. The building itself was nice. It's a little dated, like the furnishings and things like that. They said when someone new comes in, they redo the rooms, so they were nice, but the facility itself was a little dated.

My mother was particularly difficult to move and adjust, but the staff were all amazing helping us with the transition. One reason we chose this facility is because of the location. Now I am extremely happy to have chosen this well-run, clean, attentive, happy place and am feeling fortunate to know she is safe, secure and close by. Brookdale PGI has made this stage of life so much easier.

When looking for a home for your loved ones the best advise I can give is GO SMALL! Don't get pulled in by the fancy furniture, linen tablecloths etc...that many of the large facilities offer. I did that and my mom was just another number. There was no continuity of care and the staff changed so much that they didn't know who she was. Then I found Brookdale Punta Gorda and my mother has been there for almost 8 years. She is part of their family and they are part of ours. I can rest easy knowing that she is with friends who know her so well. Thanks to the current management and CNA's she is getting the best care and attention that I have seen in a long time. Thanks Brookdale for all you do to insure that my mother is well cared for!! Also, when researching facilities, look at the tenure of the staff - especially the Health & Wellness Director, nursing and key CNA's (certified nursing assistants). It's tough to keep staff for long in this industry but Brookdale Punta Gorda has done a great job and created an environment that makes staff enjoy where they work.

My mom is at Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles and she's doing well. She's settling in and interacting with other people, particularly during meal times and playing bingo. One of the reasons why I chose Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles was because it's a smaller facility and the ratio of staff to residents was a little higher, and so she gets a little more attention. The other reason is it's close to home. She is in a small studio and it had been refurbished before she moved in, with new flooring, paint, and all new cabinetry. It has a walk-in closet, which gives her a lot of storage, a nice bathroom with no lip going into the shower, and everything works well. The staff is also very attentive. We have her under a medication management program where they order her drugs and administer them to her. The nursing staff has been very good and done a good assessment of her needs. They serve good nutritious meals. They have a nice courtyard with a nice garden, and it's very attractive. They accommodate people in a variety of ways, too. Small pets are allowed and they also have visiting pets that come in. The first day she moved in, they had a Halloween party where everybody dressed up and they had treats and a scavenger hunt through the whole facility. So, I've been pleased so far. It has been a good experience and they've gone overboard to welcome her and acclimate her.

My mom moved into Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles. It's very nice, clean, and well-appointed. The staff is friendly and the food is good. I'm happy with it and would recommend it. They have activities every day and they have an activities director. They do different things and little field trips. They have a lounge area where there are lots of books, games, game table, and big-screen TV. They also have a living room where there's a fireplace and piano. Once a week they have live singers come in and play music during lunch, and another day a week, either in the afternoon or right after supper, they have another musician come. I think they don't have enough aides and they could use more staff since they don't get to everything that need to be done, but they've all been nice and helpful.

My loved one has been at Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles for three weeks. I am very impressed. The people who work there have been so helpful. They got her a bed and a dresser left over from the previous person and they even set up a room for her. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. The whole atmosphere is wonderful and the clients who live there are happy. The food is delicious and smells amazing. It just worked out so beautifully. Her room is very nice and the pricing is based on your needs. They have a basic fee and you pay for whatever you need above that. I think it's very fair.

I liked Brookdale very much. Everybody was very friendly, and I felt very good about the place. I felt that everybody was sincere and that my father would be safe there. They had lots of activities besides playing cards. Yesterday, I saw them playing the Wii. They had Wii competition between them and another facility. They had a lot of things if the residents wanted to do them. They were very accommodating. I felt that he would be safe and happy there.

I visited Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles. It had more on the assisted living. At the time, that's what we were looking for my loved one. They had very nice staff. They also had separate wings for different types of care. For dementia care, they had a separate locked wing, and that was a very secure feeling. They had movies, cards, and sing-a-longs. They had all kinds of things. It was not a brand-new facility. The rooms were very clean, but they were small.

We visited here. I came across them by looking it up on the website. It is all very good. It is a very nice place, and they were very friendly. They got a really high class show up there. We had our names up on the board like we were visiting. It was very friendly and very personable. It's great. The rooms are nice although they seem a bit small. They were all nice and very clean, so it was no problem at all. If we were a few years older, we would seriously consider it because it is a beautiful place and a very good location.

It looked fresh and clean, but I think the rooms were on the smaller side. Although I was not able to see much of the staff, the ones I saw seemed nice. I think they have an exercise room and they take the residents out. I would recommend this to some, but not to my mother because their clientele is a little more on the advanced stage than my mother is.

I had been very impressed. It was very nice. The care seemed to be thorough and good. The people they were sharing the environment seemed to be good too. One thing I liked, they had places in there where the doors were not lock and they had walkways where the patients could walk around and they had yards with walls around it where the patients can sit on a swing or picnic table. To be able to go outside by yourself or with somebody else and you know they were safe that would mean a lot. They do had different activities like crafts, art work, mind games and they gather at least once a day to talk to them and encourage them. I thought their motivation was good. The patients were always clean. They were restrictive when in taking a bath or shower. They had people who oversee all of that. I would recommend it to others. I noticed that they seemed to be happy mingling to other people and I thought that was a good thing. They provided transportation back and forth to bring them to doctor or dentist or other places. In some other places, they preferred the family to come and take them, if possible. It was a nice place and it was a place I wouldn't mind living myself.

It is very nice. We had a condo right across the water from it and it's very lovely. They have wonderful, beautiful rooms. They have an apartment with a living room, a TV, a little kitchen and a bedroom with a window to look out at the water. They have entertainment and a lot of activities for people.

People tend to only want to talk about things when they are negative. My father has been in this community for 2 years and has always been treated with respect and dignity. The employees are angels, they truly care about the people they are charged with caring for and it shows. You can feel the warmth when you walk in the door. Good food, good activities, I am very happy. It's very hard to please everyone but the staff here bend over backwards trying.
