"I liked how beautifully The Gallery at North Port was decorated and that it didn't feel like you're going into an assisted living building. They had lots of outdoor spaces. The facilities were clean and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The memory care was also beautifully decorated and well taken care of as was the rest of the building. The person who toured me was knowledgeable and enthusiastic."

"We’re so thankful we found Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles for our mom! It’s a smaller, welcoming community that truly feels like home, with a caring staff that treats residents like family. Her apartment is just the right size, with a beverage fridge/freezer and a microwave, offering a bit of independence with support close by. From Wendy’s warm welcome to the attentive care from Jessica, Mikey, Donna, Scott and the rest of the team, we’ve felt peace of mind every step of the way. It may not be the biggest or flashiest place, but the personal touch and genuine care make all the difference!"

"The staff was very friendly. The residents were very welcoming, and everybody was forthcoming with information. The place was very clean and seemed to be very suited to what we might need. We saw the dining areas, the living areas, and the common areas. They introduced us to the aides who do the caregiving to the residents. They had game sheets around. The residents were getting ready to play cornhole. They talked about games that they like to play, people that came to visit, and people that came to sing for them. The person who assisted us during the tour was very informative and very helpful. They were working on some remodeling. It wasn't perfect but they were working on it."

"My mom is in Alder Terrace. I'm very satisfied with them. I have no idea about the food, but she hasn't complained about anything. There's individual living quarters for everybody. They have large and small rooms. Hers is on the smaller side, it's what she can afford, but it's very adequate for her needs. It's an open floor plan, so would you go inside, there's an open area where they have their living room type area, couch and chairs and television, and then over from there is tables and chairs for dining. It's a large, open area all in the same area. It is just one big room and then it goes off in different directions to the individual living quarters. It's a smaller place, but it is very adequate. Right now, the activities are limited because of the COVID. Before that, they had people that would come in and they would have like exercises that they would assist them with, entertainment, people would come in and sing, and different things like that. Right now, they're just limited on what they can do. The price is very reasonable. It's one of the reasons that we put her there in the first place. It suited our needs as far as what she needed, and it's probably more economical than most."

"Clean, friendly, great atmosphere. All the people there seemed to be happy. I talked to a few and they really liked it there and said food was good. There was an ice cream shop there that everyone seemed to love. Activities were well planned. "

"This facility was very nice , tidy, and up to date. The service was subpar. On several of my visits the staff had not been in to check on the patient, the patient was soiled, and had nothing to drink. When asked to bring the patient a drink, it took almost thirty minutes to get a drink for the patient. Then when it was brought to the staffs attention the unacceptable amount of time it had taken them they rudely stated " This is not my only patient." I was not please with the care to say the least. "

"I visited Village Place. My mom chose to live there, and she moved in last February. As opposed to having one whole dining room, I like the idea that they have like cluster dining rooms throughout the facility. She likes that too because you get to know a small group of people better. The staff there, as well as the people who managed the medicine is very friendly. They were very open to my mom and they were very in tuned with her. They were just very friendly and it was an open kind of place to visit. They do have a separate memory care wing which is nice. If mom should ever begin to need that extra attention, it is right there in the building, but it is a separate unit within the building. They are well maintained, and they had just place fresh carpeting in my mom's place. It is a very well maintained facility. "

"Life Care Center evertime i have visited,has been very clean and the residents were very happy and comfortable. The nurses and other staff were very friendly. The facitly is very nice inside, its alittle small inside though, and theres not much to do as far as outside activitys go, They do however have a screened in outside area for the residents.They do plan alot of activitys for the residents to keep them busy. Over all i would be okay sending a loved on to live there, Id be comfortable with the nurses and the staff.And id feel they were put in good hands. "

"I toured Best Care Senior Living of Punta Gorda. It was very well kept up. The only thing I was disappointed in was the guy who was supposed to walk around with me, he pawned off on somebody else, which kind of disappointed me, but other than that it looked like a nice facility. Everybody seemed like they were being taken care of. Their rooms looked very good. They paint the rooms. I think I remember him telling me they'd paint the rooms before somebody comes in there, so it's all freshly painted for the new people that come in. It looked like it was kept up much better than the other place. The maintenance was very good."

"We toured Hampton Manor of Punta Gorda, and it was a very good experience. It was pristine. The place was new. It just opened in August. The rooms were brand new. Everything was clean and neat. There were not a lot of residents out and about in the facility. It didn't seem overcrowded to me. The staff that I did see working didn't seem overtaxed. The person that showed us around was excellent because we were there with her for probably 3 hours. The staff that we met just for a few seconds and said hi to while passing, all seemed very nice."

"My parents are residents of Meridian in Punta Gorda. The community has continued to grow since they have been there. The management and the staff are fantastic. They've brought on new people as the community grows and have been able to fill out and make a great schedule of activities every day. It has been well made. We've been very pleased. Their apartment is spacious. It is nice. They can see the water from their room, which is a big bonus. It is nice that they have nice views from several sides of the building. They have a studio and a one-bedroom with a door between them, so they have what's basically a two-bedroom unit. There are five of those in the community, and it's wonderful for a couple because it gives them extra space and a little TV room. When I go down to visit them, I'm able to stay in the other bedroom, and I've spent weeks there already. Their food is restaurant quality. The Meridian is almost 50% men, and they laugh and say it's because the food is so good. There are a lot of activities, too. There is a group that walks in the morning. There is some kind of game scheduled, whether it's Scrabble, bingo, or a card game. There are movies there two or three times a week. Some groups go to church. There are tons of different things. They also do excursions. They have been to a couple of different marina restaurants that are 10 or 15 miles away. They have done museum-type tours. There is always something happening. They have a good activity director who comes around and gets everybody excited about the activities each day. It is just really nicely done. I live in Virginia, and my parents are in Florida, and their staff is top-notch. I feel comfortable knowing that my mom and dad are there even though I can't be there all the time. They know everybody by name. They come up, talk to them, and check on them. I had my mom and dad up in Tampa for a doctor's appointment one evening, and we were late getting back. The Meridian's front desk called just to check on them because it was later than they would normally get back and make sure everything was okay. They're wonderful. My mom has started cancer treatment, and one of the caregivers from a different floor came to her the other day and said, 'I know you started your cancer treatment, and I'm sure you're tired. Give me your laundry, and I'll just do your laundry for you, and that way you don't have to deal with it.' So they care for them like family would. The value for money is great. The level of care that they're honestly getting is amazing. When we first sat and looked at the cost, we figured they would eat out a couple of nights a week and have money going for snacks or stuff to have in their room if they didn't like whatever was on the menu or something. We found that they don't eat out because there are so many choices, and the food is so good that there is no reason for them to go and spend money eating somewhere else unless they're meeting friends or something."

"My mother-in-law was in this facility for two months, and the only reason we removed her from it was that her condition worsened and she needed 24-hour nursing care that an ALF could not provide. We spent a lot of time there with her, and we were very pleased with the caregiving staff, the facility itself, the management, and also the dining. It is a beautiful, clean, friendly place with lots of activities for residents at various levels of independence. We only wish we had moved her there sooner so that she could have had more enjoyment of everything that was available to her there. "

"My sister moved to North Port Pines. I love it because it's clean, no smell, and the people are very nice and very professional. The meals were good. I tasted the food and everything. I liked the taste of the food and it was very satisfying. The staff was very helpful and very loving to all the patients. The amenities looked like a hotel. They have bingo, they have ball games, and they watch TV. The young people come in and mingle with the older people."
