My experience with Sandhill Gardens is not great, but its OK. I'm still learning. They have activities for the residents even though I don't participate in too much of that. The rooms are fine, though a little bit on the small side, but that's OK. The food is not the greatest, but it's edible. They don't have a swimming pool nor much in the way of outdoor or indoor facilities.

The facility smells like urine in the hallways. The food is bland, and mass produced. There was a gentleman lying on the floor for over an hour before a staff member came to help, way after being notified multiple times. DO NOT put your family member here! Disgusting.

I went to Sandhill Gardens Retirement Center. It was too large. It had independent living and also assisted living. It was just too big. The tour was fine. Their facility was very nice, very clean, and very open. Everybody, the staff, was very pleasant, very caring. There was no odor or anything in the building. Because some places you go into and you walk in, there's definitely an odor, but there was none there.

The rental agreement said they would make any refunds due within 45 days of vacating the property. It took four months to collect a refund for my security deposit and they didn't refund any of the excess rent paid.

Sandhill Gardens was very nice. The food was very good. The apartment could be furnished or residents could bring their own things. They would furnish it, including with the linen. Each room had a little porch, which was very nice. We went back at the end of a week for happy hour, and they had a gentleman singing for the residents. It was all on one level and only had 90 residents. The people were very friendly. It was nice that you could live in the independent living, so if you needed help, you could go to the assisted living in the same facility.

Our friend was placed at Sandhill Gardens. It was fine. The cost was within our friend's ability to pay. We liked the place. It's a one-story facility, so there were no elevators. I witnessed a great deal of activities. She's happy with it, and that's really the important thing.

Sandhill Gardens looks very nice. My mom is in the assisted living part. It’s a two-fold place with retirement on the other side where people have little apartments, and then they go to the main dining room, but my mother’s place is just a very large bedroom and a large bathroom. It’s very nice, and she’s happy there. It’s a wonderful staff. She does quite a bit, like crafts quite frequently, happy hour, and bingo.

I visited Sandhill Gardens and thought that it was a very depressing dark place. My parents had lived there, but have since passed, my dad first, hence the necessary visit almost 2 years ago. My mom suffered from dementia and for the short time that I was there and stayed with her until she was moved North; there were several occasions when no help was available after 5pm. Forget the weekends; no help at all! Even though the "emergency strings" were pulled within the apartment no one ever came to see what the problem was. Weekends were the absolute worse, with no one checking on my mom or helping her with her medication! Several items were missing from their apartment including jewelry. It has taken me nearly 2 years to try and come to grips with the negligence I saw at Sandhill. My mom and dad loved the staff and most were very nice to me. The day to day staff were kind and caring; housekeeping and maintenance in particular. I had a problem trusting some staff and to this day wonder what happened to several of my parents items. I hope whomever helped themselves to my parents things enjoyed them. In my opinion, stay away from here. It is a lot of money for very little peace of mind.

Sandhill Gardens Retirement is an excellent facility, and their staff is excellent. We spoke to some residents, and they really like the place. They all seemed very happy.

When I went to Sandhill Gardens Retirement Center for a visit, I was amazed with the structural designs of the buildings. It was gorgeous. The staff were cordial and helpful. They take the residents bowling, shopping or visit the doctors. But there was extra pay for other services that they don't offer, so it is expensive. I also noticed that the residents looked depressed. I don't think my mother would like it there.
