"Our visit was very good; we were very impressed. The accommodations were nice.They had apartments, and also just rooms. The staff members that we met were all friendly, and the residents were up and about and busy all over. We had a meal there and the food was very good. Another thing I liked about this community is that they have four dining rooms; three of them serves three meals a day and the fourth one is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some of the amenities include a library, exercise machines, and table hockey. They also have a table set up for games and puzzles, a little convenience store, and a therapy room with therapists. It was a very attractive place and has a good skilled nursing area."

"My wife was here for about 4 months in February, most of the staff is great! She was there for a wound that needed some care and she received great services. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone! "

"I have my dad in Desoto Health & Rehab. It is a very nice place, the people are very friendly, and caring. The staff is tremendous. They take care of my dad really well. He shares a room. He has a roommate. It's very clean. They've been making a lot of improvements since the hurricane a few years ago, so it's all nice and up-to-date. The food is excellent. I'd eaten there before COVID. If they want certain things like hot dogs or hamburgers, they make them whatever they would like. After the hurricane they redid mostly the whole thing over."

"My mother likes The Oaks at Avon. They're very personable. She has made friends with all the nurses and CNAs on the different shifts. They're very nice. The facility is very clean. Everything's kept up and they'll fix something when you mention that it's not working. They have bingo, a lot of church services, and people singing. She receives occupational therapy and physical therapy. She enjoys being there."

"Momma had a stroke ~ Tampa General listed 4 places in or close to Avon Park where we live for therapy. We siblings toured all 4. Judging by outside appearance of buildings Royal Care was the oldest. (But well maintained) Inside is what turned our heads. ALL staff was happy, personable & caring in their interaction with patients, other staff & visitors. The RC patients were also much happier even in thei personal battles of recovery. The Therapy center was head & shoulders above other facilieties as well. It was bright airy and welcoming. It was full of folks doing their daily work outs with therapists. My momma improved dramatically while there. The food was outstanding, they offered a really great variety of tasty & attractive meals not the same old nursing home style. Like we saw in Kentucky with my mother in law.and the coffee was good. They are so good they serve meals on wheels for our Avon Park community. If I needed help with anything for momma any staff member passing by would either stop to help or run for help - I never heard "Not my job" Honestly I can not say enough about the care my momma received. RC is rated 5 star on line but We give it 10 stars! Avon Park is a very nice community, you should visit AvonPark Lakes Baptist Church if you come here, but there are other great churches. We have a cool Historical Museum, State College, many excellent restraunts, shopping, the historic Jacaranda Hotel, Advent Hospital is about 6 miles away, many good doctors. Donaldson Park is a playground picnic/ shuffel board/tennis court swimming area you can enjoy. and we are only about 10 miles from Highlands Hammock State Park with catwalks, camp ground, trails & picnic area, Museum, snack shop & sometimes music in the park."

"My mother was at the Bartow Center for a rehab stay for a few months after a hospitalization. We selected this facility mainly because it was really close to our house and we were able to see her every day. The facility took her Medicare and AARP supplement, and handled all the insurance paperwork. It did not take us long to arrange a tour and get her into the nursing home after her doctor said she could leave the hospital.Overall, we found the staff polite and professional. Though the evening staff sometimes took a little longer than needed to get to her when she put on the call bell, we spoke with the director about this and they seemed to take our concerns seriously. We absolutely loved the social worker, Mary, who was helpful, honest, and overall great to work with. She helped us get my mother's house set up with needed equipment and home nursing in no time. This facility is not the fanciest nursing home, but it is clean and the staff is good. What more could you want for someone you love? "
