I have had much experience with the Kenilworth Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Home. I have had two close family members reside at this facility for over 3 years combined. My uncle and my grandmother were both residents and lived at the agency until they deceased. The three years which I had personal contact with this facility was definitely an eye-opener to the nursing home way of life. It is awful to see your loved ones helplessly laying in bed all day and feeling so dependent on others. Kenilworth, compared to some other agencies I have been exposed to, lack the activities and attention that their patients desperately need in order for them to still feel as though they are a part of the social community. The facility is very clean and the staff is very caring and compassionate. Overall, I was satisfied with their experiences, just wished they would have gotten the patients more involved.

Staffing is inadequate it seems. Requests from resident for care delayed, safety concerns such as resident left on commode, no call light close by, staff didn't return to assist back to bed, medication delays inhibit pain control resulting in less effective physical therapy. Staff interaction, relay of messages from resident to appropriate staff deficient. Attention to such concerns as emptying bedside commode lacking. Timely administration of prescribed medications absent, prompt answering of call light absent. Attention to resident concerns about physical conditions i.e. increasing pain, not addressed. Ants and roach noted. There are physical concerns for attention to new symptoms, safety concerns~ resident not given means to contact staff while out of bed, lack of prompt attention to call light...NIce rooms? interactions with staff? Activities? Amenities? don't mean much if care is lacking, insufficient staff causes delayed care, simple emptying of a used commode is neglected

My brother got his birthday cards from his three sisters two days ago. They were for his 60th birthday, which was in September of 2019. Where the hell were the cards this whole time? Bologna and cheese sandwiches for Thanksgiving dinner???? No shower for three weeks and blood stained sheets on his bed for 2 weeks. This place is disgusting.
