I am/was a resident of this facility

I have to give a five star review because my time here has been great to staff has been very attentive to my needs and I am progressing in therapy. Administration has been great. The admissions Director helped me get around my insurance to get me approved to come in for rehab. The building is older, but the Care has been great. Food is good! I love playing bingo in activities. My CNA’s are nice. I would recommend this place and I will come back here again.

I have been here a month and half. My Therapy has been great. Got me back on my feet from the stroke I had 63 days ago. The therapists are Great and I just can’t thank the staff enough for helping me to walk again! The rooms are dated but it’s clean. Last week we were outside with activities and I just had a good time and made some good friends here. I will be leaving to home this week but if I need therapy again I will be back!!

I visited this facility

Went to see my mother on her first day in the facilities. The closet still had the last residents laundry and dirty laundry on the floor. We then opened the bedside table and couldn't believe the absolute filth. Old crushed wash basin with what looked like dry crusty God knows whats in it. What happens to cleaning out before the next person moves in. Hope the bed was cleaned but as the rest of the room was not this too is doubtful. The trash cans had trash and a urine soaked disposable in it with no bag. The smell was terrible. I am a CNA and I am disgusted with this facility. Wish to God my mother was never reduced to endure this disgusting environment. And Yes we took pictures of all that funk!!!! The staff is a direct representation of the facilities. I must add when asking for a simple basic need such as ice and water the staff member I ask was to busy to even point me in the direction of the water/ice station. Has myself in another family member were discussing running out to the store to get ice and water for our mother's room apparently a CNA in the hallway overheard and says oh well I could have got you that. Has a healthcare worker it doesn't matter who you ask in that facility as long as they're a worker they should be able to point you in the right direction to a break room to a kitchen something. But apparently pointing a residence family to the water station is not within the scope of their practice LOL. Needless to say the photos and a nice complaint will be forwarded to AHCA in Tallahassee. I'm pretty sure with the disgusting conditions and the mold and everything else that we found in the room surely didn't meet covid sanitation protocol! Not that the state cares unless it's loss of life! The care my mother gets remains to be seen, this is only day two in the facility for rehab. Let's hope the physical therapy department is better than the cleaning department and the CNAs or even the administrative that doesn't even go in to check on their crappy facility to make sure it's clean. Sincerely her daughter and this ain't happening!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Currently trying to get my father moved from here. The staff is rude they laugh at you when you ask them to call the dr. They haven't given him a bath in 3 days. I will be contacting the board of health and a attorney.

Bartow Center Staff most are rude they do not answer call lights in a timely manner has taken them up to an hour to answer the call light. The place smells especially on the 300&400 hallways they let people sit in urine and BM fecies all day. They do not monitor your medicine including pain med. and let you run out. Then while you are in pain for hours they won't call the Dr. to let him know what's going on so he can call the and get an order for pain meds out of the EDK box which they have to have a code for from the pharmacy.I have expressed the call light situation to the Administrator, Social Worker, ADON,and the Unit Manager nothing has been done and it is the same CNA's day after day. They always ask how things are going but doesn't really do anything when you put complaints in. They have a fast turnaround on staff. I have even heard staff say they are going to quit due to way they treat their patients and they did and went to work at another facility or the hospital. They treat patients like they are in jail. I would not recommend this place for my dying dog if it had cancer. When the patients family they are there act all courteous to them and to that patient but its a different story when the family leaves. One of the Doctors that comes there is very rude and argumentive toward his patients. He doesn't let you talk and always talks over you and he hurries up to get out of the room so he doesn't have to listen to you. The staff also talks about the patients in the hallways where other people can hear what's going on which this is against patients privacy rights (HIPPA Law). Some nurses and CNA's even tell some patients what's going on with other patients. Well if you bring a family member or a friend here to be a patient all I got to say is you have been WARNED!!! So beware of what is going on with your family member or friend especially if they do not know of thing going on. Everything in this review is very true and can be proved to you.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My uncle stayed in Bartow Center and the place didn't smell good. He was in shared room with two or three other people. I didn't like anything in that facility. It would be better if they had less people in the room and if they would take care of the smell.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother was at the Bartow Center for a rehab stay for a few months after a hospitalization. We selected this facility mainly because it was really close to our house and we were able to see her every day. The facility took her Medicare and AARP supplement, and handled all the insurance paperwork. It did not take us long to arrange a tour and get her into the nursing home after her doctor said she could leave the hospital.Overall, we found the staff polite and professional. Though the evening staff sometimes took a little longer than needed to get to her when she put on the call bell, we spoke with the director about this and they seemed to take our concerns seriously. We absolutely loved the social worker, Mary, who was helpful, honest, and overall great to work with. She helped us get my mother's house set up with needed equipment and home nursing in no time. This facility is not the fanciest nursing home, but it is clean and the staff is good. What more could you want for someone you love?
