"My wife and I have been residents at Bay Village for over six years. We thank God for bringing us to this place. We love our apartment, the programs, the entertainment, the opportunities for service and for fellowship, the Bible study time and Vespers on Fridays, the caring staff and the giant pool. My wife broke her leg recently and needed full-time nursing care. She is getting excellent care and I can visit her several times a day because I am about one minute away in our apartment. Everybody I know here at Bay Village is pleased, even delighted to be living here. "

"Glenridge on Palmer Ranch had a very nice and impressive setup, but it was very expensive. The rooms were all nice and had everything you would need. It was much nicer than I had anticipated. They were quite large and I was impressed by how big they were. They take you to various doctors' offices or restaurants. They have tours, music, and other conveniences, like a dry cleaner that you could have access to. It was very inclusive and impressive. The food was very good. They're very good, cooperative, and organized. They knew what they were doing and I had a feeling of confidence with them."

"This is right down the road from where I live. It’s absolutely beautiful, and the people there are extremely kind and considerate. I can’t say enough of them. They’re going to stop and talk to you and ask how you’re doing today. The staff was exceptional and very nice. I went in to have PT and we knew everybody else. We were laughing and the girls that were working there knew their stuff. No one had any negativity. It’s a very pleasant place. It is very much in demand. They keep people coming all the time. It has a very nice dining room. I had to walk through a long hall, I had the corner room, and the sun came in that day. It was just perfect. It was a very nice room. It had enough room for 2 beds. It was a very clean and very bright place. Their food was very good. The dietician would come to me every so often and ask if I was satisfied with the food, and if there was anything special I wanted. They had everything going, and I think the people were happy that went there. Every morning I woke up and I found myself happy to be there."

"The lady at Englewood was very nice. She was very straightforward. The place did give the impression of a hospital but it was clean. The rehab center was redone. The other area was not, but it was really in good shape and easy for the wheelchair to roll down the hall. Overall, Englewood was very nice. I would have put my husband in there if they had a single room, but they did not. That's the only reason why he did not go to Englewood. "

"My Mother has been at this facility for a little over a year. She came from another facility where she obtained a severe rash, had severe swelling of her legs, had pneumonia on more than one occasion and we moved her to the Springs due to our concern of her care. Since being at the Springs, she no longer has a rash, has never had pneumonia and her legs are no longer swollen. Her overall care is much improved. There are loving nurses, staff and dining staff that has made a very positive change for my Mother. Thank-you Lake Pointe Woods...PeggyAnn "

"My husband had been in Heartland Health Care and Rehabilitation Center for about three months. It was 20 miles away from my home so it wasn't convenient. The facility has a much better reputation though and I was happy with them. They were very good. It was an older place but it was very clean and homey. Their rooms were a little bit smaller but that's understandable because it is an older institution. The staff was great. They have many activities for residents to participate. I had a couple of lunches there visiting my husband and it was okay. The only improvement I can think of about this place is that it needs some updating. "

"This facility is very clean, but what sets it apart is the staff who are kind, caring and thoughtful in addition to being extremely competent at what they do. They could not do enough and knowing that my dad was in a safe, caring place allowed me to sleep better at night."

"This place is the best!!! My 25 year old son was admitted here after being in a an induced coma at Death(Health) Central Hospital in Orlando. We never thought he would walk or talk again after they removed him from the ventilator after 10 long days. They were going to Trach him but I insisted to that administration to have him moved to another hospital. Interesting how they can suddenly remove him from the ventilator when their next plan was to Trach him...Health South was recommended by friends here in Sarasota and I found there was a bed available. I went on line and was frightened by some of the reviews. The place he was at was the worst hospital in Florida and had a robot for a doctor at evenings in charge of the ICU. We figured any place will be better than where he was. Debra Burns his case worker was fantastic and organized the transfer. She kept me up to date in everything. They arranged pickup in Orlando to Sarasota and I was notified when he arrived late in the evening. I knew that most hospitals did not carry my son's special extend kidney medication in their pharmacy. The next morning I came with a bottle just in case and they had already arranged the script with a nephrologist from Sarasota Memorial Hospital and he was given it just as I walked in. His goals were clearly outlined and what will be done to achieve them. He needed most importantly to become mobile again and to gain weight along with keeping his blood levels correct so he does not become acidotic again. That day he was given 3 hours of physical therapy . The therapists are upbeat and very motivational. The nurses were caring, competent and pleasant. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Doctor at all hours. Dr Hume was very available and took the time to answer my questions and concerns. The place was spotless and rooms inviting and comfortable. Whenever I called I was able to reach him. Whenever I visited him every morning before work and evening after work there was a chart and various cards of specialists who visited him. A very nice touch was they hang the picture up of the case worker and doctor in charge for the day along with writing the nurses name on the board. This place is well run and organized. My son was approved through insurance for 2 weeks I was worried that would not be long enough. Within 2 days my son's color came back, he was slowly walking and smiling. He said they gave him extra helpings of chicken nuggets. I had to laugh. The first hospital food he ever liked. He was discharged after one week of working hard during PT eating all his food along with the food I brought in and all the encouragement of the staff. People need to remember this is a Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Hospital, not Hospice or a Memory Care Hospital. If a loved one has broken a hip or been in an accident or trouble swallowing like my son did and need to become independent again this is the place. They are equipped for other health conditions such as my son's RTA or respiratory and other illness. In no way am I trying to diminish anyone's negative experiences but feel it is so important for families to decide what type of hospital should a loved one be at. Do they want a place designed for loved ones to lead active and independent lives? Then this is the place. My son is now back to daily living at home and working hard to put on another 20 lbs. I would give Health South 10 stars if allowed. This place is a well organized, caring, clean and positive environment!"

"I took a tour of Sunnyside Village's independent living. I also have a friend who lives there, and I visit her maybe once a month. They have extensive grounds. They also have a lot of independent duplex houses and apartments, so they have a lot of independent living. Their assisted living is fairly small. They also have memory care, nursing care, and rehab. They have an outdoor pool and a library. I remember the apartments were especially beautiful. I also know they have a van or a bus that takes people to things. If I were going to stay in Sarasota, I think I would go to Sunnyside because it has a warmer feel to it, and it is also a little more affordable. The residents have a meal plan where they eat in the main dining room. During COVID, they boxed food and brought it to their doors for them. At one point, I did have dinner with my friend there, and the food was very good. My friend is very happy living there. I also think you get more value for your money there."

"Anna was amazing at getting both my mother and father settled at Magnolia. She went above and beyond to make sure we comfortable with what was happening and explained everything to us over and over so that we understood. The staff is very friendly. They know their patients and are always willing to help. We know our parents are in the best care and are so thankful to all staff. "

"My friend was at the facility for 20 days getting rehab for a hip replacement. When I visited I found her room to be inviting, clean and she had me bring in some of her knickknacks to make it more home like for her. She was up walking the same day she arrived with a walker with help and recovered fairly quickly . The therapy staff were great, as was the nursing staff, Max the RN was fantastic, so was JJ the CNA. She is a picky eater but gained a few pounds during her rehab. All in all a mater of fact experience with a great outcome. "

"My aunt is currently at Sarasota Point. I wouldn’t say that I like it the best, but she went there for rehab, then ended up needing to apply for Medicaid, so she just stayed there. Her level of need was too high for assisted living. The rehab side is very good. I was not impressed with the regular nursing home side, so I actually had her moved back to the rehab side. She’s doing better now. I was very unhappy with the nursing side; they overmedicated her and made her very lethargic. She actually started to develop a bad sore, so I demanded that she be moved back to the rehab side, which they call the transitional care side. She is receiving much better care, the bed sore is resolving, and she’s awake and alert. "
