"My mother is at South Heritage Health & Rehab Center. They help her with taking her meds, with her rehab/physical therapy, and with the shower and toilet. The staff is very nice and helpful. She shares a room with a woman. The facility is clean and kept up. The food is good. They have a nice area for the elderly to gather together. It's like a nice hangout area and they are welcomed to socialize with each other. I like that."

"Does not look like much but the nurses are amazing! They go above and beyond. Some great CNAs but some need not be in the medical field and complain more than the patient's and definitely need to be more respectful to patient's and coworkers! The head nurse was fantastic took the time to hear our concerns and took corrective action immediately. Again it needs upgrades but I commend the work being done with so very little."

"My friend is currently in Gulfport Rehabilitation Center. The whole first floor is being remodeled because they got flooded by a hurricane. So he's on the second floor. Once they get that done, that'll be nice. The only bad thing is that they don't have transportation. He can't go to the grocery store because, for some reason, I don't know if their bus is destroyed or what. It looks all right, but it doesn't run. The staff is good, and residents always play bingo in the afternoon."

"My mom stayed at Palms of Pasadena for her recovery from stroke. They were great, they were right on helping their patients, and when residents push a button they didn't have to wait half an hour for help, they were right there. The food also looked decent."

"My husband was at The Springs for a month. The staff was fine. The physical therapy department was the best around. I would recommend it; it’s an OK place. There was as much activity there as you wanted to do. There is some excellent staff, and there are not so excellent ones, but it averages out to be good. "

"I think the egret Cove Center is a very nice nursing home/rehab center. The personnel are very friendly, Effecient and they know what they are doing. My husband was there for three weeks and they gave him good care and therapy"

"I found the nursing staff to be friendly, and caring. Most of the cna,s are hard working, and helpful. I enjoyed therapy. The therapists are very good, and can make it fun. The activity department is a busy place, with bingo, cooking, manicures, gardening, live music, and more. The bathroom floor was always dirty, and complaining didn,t do any good. "

"I was never hospitalized or placed in a re-hab center ever during the first 70 years of my life ... and I was only in Appollo for 15/16 days ... so my perspective may be different than others. But overall I thought that the facility was well run and the staff was capable and caring. Rating the various elements I would say the Administration was 3-star plus professional. The nurses were three-star plus caring and professional. The CNA's were 4-star very caring and professional. The Physical Therapists were 4-star professional and caring. There is even a concierge. The food was not very good, but there may be legitimate reasons that it was so bland and tasteless. The facility had several pleasant areas to spend time out of your room. Patients have reasonable opportunities to join in planned activities and events inside and outside the facility. Probably the thing that I was most impressed with is the staff came to work with a good attitude ... worked hard as individuals and as a team throughout the day ... and seemed to leave still in a good attitude. To me that was a positive sign of good staff and management. The facility itself is a total makeover of an obviously obsolete building ... but that did not really bother me. The building was certainly functional and clean. Overall ... choosing between a 3-star and 4-star rating ... I think it would be closer to a 4-star than a 3-star facility. "

"I was at Bayside Rehabilitation and Health Center. The rehab people were very good. The nurses were not very good and not very caring, and the doctors came in very, very short, literally 5 minutes at most to spend time with you. They were good doctors and they tried to do the best for you, but they were only allotted so much money. The food was terrible. They kept the place very clean, but the structure of the building was not very good at all. They had all kinds of games and they watched TV. They tried to do things with their residents, and that was one thing that they were good about."
