"My grandmother (now deceased) resided at Canturbury for a number of years until her death earlier this year at the age of 102. My family and I would visit her on a regular basis. My overall experience was a positive one, as the facilities were always clean and the residents seemed content. The staff was always attentive, and many of them went out of their way for my grandmother, forming a real bond with her. One staff member grew so close to my grandmother that she was asked to sing at her funeral services. "

"I was living in Bayshore Presbyterian Apartments in Tampa, a 62-and-over apartment building. The community is lovely, and the building is exceptionally clean. The maintenance is excellent, people are good, and they have a lot of activities. They have a library and games like Bingo and Scrabble. They have movie nights on Saturdays and day trips for those who want to go out for lunch with people. They have Christmas parties and Thanksgiving parties, which are very lovely and very well done. They have a new property manager there who I understand is really on the ball. If you qualify through the city, the place will give you food. It's not the greatest, though. The only thing that I liked was the little piece of roasted chicken they gave us. That was the only meal that I enjoyed there."

"I visited Mease Manor. I was impressed with the layout of the room. The general atmosphere was very friendly. It was a location that was ideal for us. They had transportation, medical facilities, social activities, and everything that we needed. They served two meals a day. You had a choice of lunch, dinner, and breakfast. "

"My husband is staying in St. Mark Village for rehab. It's beautiful, with lovely carpet and furniture and nice people at the front desk to help you go this way or that. There are times when you need a nurse, and there might just be one on that floor. They could improve with their hiring. They mostly have physical therapy, walking, and riding in their walker. They belt up and hold you until you can walk a little better on your own. They're very good. They're more well-trained. They're not just people that hand out your lunch. The food is good. There weren't too many activities. If you weren't having physical therapy, you weren't doing much. They sit in their wheelchair, watch a movie, and they're all asleep."

"Westminster Point Pleasant is a great spot. It's beautiful. They've got good people working there and my wife lives in a five-star unit. They have different buildings on their campus, some are with nurses and things like that, while she is in a rehab situation right now with some skilled nursing. It's well run and everybody is very loving, caring, and makes you feel good. The intake lady, Maj, is a wonderful woman. She's only been there three months, but she is a great girl. She is very caring, very helpful, listens to you, then answers your questions, and acts on them. My wife also thought the food was very good and when she was at a point where she couldn't eat, I ate it and for me, it was OK, definitely better than what I've ever had in a hospital. Then they have a therapist that goes around and works with each person in their room and she likes that too. So, I was hoping that my wife could stay there. She's on Medicare right now and she may only be there for another week or two since she's feeling a little bit better now."

"We toured the facility and met with Curt about costs, transitions, medical services.Everyone there was friendly, kind and helpful. The location on the water is gorgeous with plenty of areas to sit/walk to appreciate it. Clean and nicely decorated. They offer lots of activities frequent trips to Bealls/Pubix, and the menus were varied. "

"I liked StrawBerry Ridge because it was quiet and serene. The mobile homes that I saw were the ones that somebody else had lived in, but the layout was very easy to move around in. They also had brand new mobile homes available. The people there were friendly. They have a lot of activities there. The staff was awesome and helped a lot in explaining things. It was a good location for me because you don't get all that noise even though you're close to restaurants and malls. The grounds were very clean and easy to maneuver. There were flower gardens, so they made it nice and cozy."
