The staff at this facility are extremely rude and not willing to help people. I would not recommend this community to others.

Everyone here was very nice. The staff and residents. I was quite impressed. The place is average to above average in appearance, not fancy but seems like a good place

I toured St. Mark Village for my dad. The staff was very friendly. I was really interested in going to memory care. I really like the look of the facility, how clean it was, and how friendly the staff was. They were remodeling one of the bedrooms. They were updating and painting it, and I just thought it was really nice. I like the security and the open foyer. I like the little cafe and restaurant's style that they had. It just seemed like a really nice place. The only downfall (and this is just personal to me and it's just a picky little thing) was that they didn't have any staff that spoke Spanish. That's just a problem I have to deal with. Other than that, everything else this great. I thought it was a great facility.

I was very impressed with St Mark Village when my Mom Moved in. One to two years after move in, my Moms ceiling turned black after several days of rain. It was black mold due what I understand to have been a roof leak. St Mark Village moved her into a different apartment repaired the ceiling and added a dehumidifier to her apartment. Due to the black mold my Mom lost some of her belongings never to be replaced. Her ceiling about 3" from the crown molding has been cracked ever since the black mold problem. The ceiling was refinished and the corners have been cracked for years. It looks terrible! As far as the food goes, the food was very good the first few years she lived there. Prior to Covid-19 the food started to go down hill and the dinning room staff changed. One year most of the dinning room waiters left; now there are very few waiters in the dinning room. I understand that the price of food has gone up; however, the people that live at St Mark Village still deserve quality food. It has been reported to me that a resident moved out due to the poor food quality. St Mark Village keeps losing my faith in them.

We're considering St. Mark Village. The people seemed to be very active. They were all doing some kind of activities. The place was beautiful. The food was excellent. The medical care that they have there is excellent. You go in, and you're there until they wheel you out to a funeral home. They have three different levels. They have a nursing home, and they also offer memory care. I would rather be in a place where I'm with people my own age, offers medical care, and offers activities to keep you active. You name it, they've got it. They have programs where you can exercise. They have beautiful grounds that you can walk around, and you're very close to all kinds of things that you would need. Both of my banks are within walking distance. There's a Publix across the street, and there are restaurants across the street. There's dry cleaning, and there are laundry facilities. Anything that you would need is in either walking distance or just a block or so away, so that is another advantage. The rooms were adequate. They're almost as big as the place where we are currently living. The food was excellent in that it is run by a former restaurant owner. He is an excellent cook. You're offered only one meal a day, but they have other facilities. They have a bakery. They have a place where you can go and have breakfast if you want it. If you have company and they want to have the regular meal, it's only $20 with a choice of five different entrees. The day I ate there, I ordered a steak and it was just as good as if I had eaten it at the Outback. It was cooked to my preference. They offer soup, salad, your main entree, a dessert, and your beverage, so that's a five-course meal. When I walked into St. Mark, I feel like I'm walking into home. I feel welcomed.

My husband and I moved here 4 years ago and have spent four of the happiest years of our lives here among friends that are like family. We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, apartment decorated with our own furniture and momentoes. It really is our home. Everyone is happy and smiling when you meet them in the hallways. There are numerous activities to keep us busy and entertained from Bingo to field trips to various interesting museums and historical places. Our dining room is at the top of our favorite restaurants. The choices for meals are many various specialties every day and our wait staff serves us with happy, smiling faces . Our family is delighted to know that whatever needs we will have in our future they will be taken care of by the staff willingly. It sure makes life wonderful to know that we have no worries in our golden years.

I have been a resident for seven years and have enjoyed every moment of my life here. We are like a family including the staff , very caring and looking after each other. There are many smiles and greetings when you meet each other In the common areas. We enjoy the pool and hot tub every day, movies, lectures, bus outings and of course the dining. Many folks enjoy a variety of games also. Our 2 bedroom 2 bath and kitchen apartment is quite adequate and has a large patio. Our children are happy that we have chosen a safe and pleasant place in which to live.

I have lived at St. Mark Village for almost 12 yrs and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. This is a very special place where we enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere, a caring Staff, and 5-Star meals. Our LifeCare Residents have the security of knowing we have a home for the rest of our lives, without the headaches of private home ownership. Many activities are offered such as in-house movies, day trips, crafts, bridge, bingo, corn hole toss, Wii bowling, and exercise classes. We also have a pool and hot tub, and In-house Rehab. Apartments vary in sizes and pricing.

St. Mark Village was an older building, and it looked a little shabby to me. The apartments were nice. When you move in they'll repaint and do everything and change the carpet. The carpeting needed replacing in the common hallways. You only meet a few salespeople. The residents seemed happy. They had a pool, but it was not an enclosed pool. We specifically want an enclosed, heated pool. Whenever you go to a facility for a food sample, they give you a good dinner. Who knows what the rest of the stuff is in any of the places.

I like St. Mark Village, but it's out of my price range. I didn't like that you have to buy in, then you have a lifetime residency. The room that I qualified financially was much too small for me. It was a studio, which I turned down immediately. The facility was very appealing, clean, and well kept. The staff was very responsible and knowledgeable. It's good for people who can afford it. They had crafts, library, and a beauty shop.

St. Mark Village is a Lutheran-based home. You get one meal a day in a beautiful dining room and there are wonderful services. The apartments were lovely, but you buy in. The staff members that we met were pleasant, polite, and knowledgeable. I spoke with a number of residents and one said, "I've been living here eight years and it's the best thing I ever did." They go all over the place. The only drawback was they only go to the Paschal border when it comes to checking you for medical services, and unfortunately our physicians are north of that border, and also I would not want to change my VA outpatient clinic.

My mom has been a resident for several yrs. The facility has gone thru a lot of staff. Since the new administrator had taken over the rules and fees never seem to end; yet the establishment is really starting to get run down. It was to be renovated a few yrs ago but never happened. The only 5 star rating here should go to the caregivers, they are great..

St Mark Village is very big which I didn't like. They have about 5 or 6 floors; plus it's a buy-in, and they want $80,000 upfront. It's clean and upscale. It's just far too big, and I just don't like how they do business.

Just had lunch with my 93-yr old grandmother who has lived there for 18 years and the food was awesome! They have a new culinary director and I thought I was eating at a fine dining restaurant. Looks like some nice updating to the facility has been going on too

St. Mark was very nice and very comfortable with awesome staff. The rooms were OK but a little small. Some of the rooms in the assisted living did not have a kitchen, which disappointed my mother, but otherwise, the rooms were fine. They offered the same activities as other places. They had a craft room and played bingo and cards.

St. Mark Village is nice. It’s a little older. I really like the staff there; they are very nice. They actually offered everything that we needed between rehab and long-term care. They also have memory care there.

My mother went from hospice to St. Mark Village and stayed there for one week, and it was very good. They have a place for nursing care, senior living, and assisted living. The staff was excellent, and the care was awesome. The rooms were large, there's plenty of space, and there's privacy for the two that were in there. She enjoyed the food, but she only was able to go to the common area once. I was very impressed with them. They had bingo, cooking class, and different things for the ones in the nursing area. They were very good and very caring people.

My mother's physical therapist had referred us to St. Mark. It is very well-staffed, and the staff is friendly, professional, and caring. And the management responds to us in a timely manner when we have concerns. I am very happy with the facility. They take them on outings to restaurants, and they have birthday parties and entertainment. In the nursing home, the room is probably 100 sq. ft. -- it is small, but you can provide your own furniture, and because it is part of a larger independent and assisted living facility, you had use of other parts of the building. They have beautiful gardens and indoor viewing places, other places to go and be with your family, a beauty salon, and an ice-cream parlor, which we take advantage of. I think their food and dining facility is average; nothing special.

We did look at St. Mark Village. They were very nice except for its open-ended cost. It was like every time you wanted more help, the price went up. It wasn’t as convenient to where we live either. The grounds were fine, and their calendar of activities was pretty full; they have a lot of things. They were doing exercise when we were there. They were very friendly, and it seemed clean. It just seemed like they could use a litte bit of updating.

St. Mark Village is relatively well-appointed. The entryways and common spaces are finely decorated and kept clean, and the living quarters are spacious and modern. St. Mark is located close to numerous shops, restaurants, grocery stores and golf courses, and the facility provides local transportation for residents. Considerable effort is put into making residents feel at ease in the facility; dinner menus are comprehensive, staff members are courteous and available around the clock, and the general environment is welcoming for visitors as well. Perhaps the only drawback of the facility and it is, unfortunately, a rather large one is their overall quality of medical care. They are not affiliated with a hospital and are a few miles from the nearest one, but they do have clinicians on staff to take care of patients. I would absolutely recommend the facility to those in good health looking for a quiet place to retire; however, if more comprehensive care is needed, I would look elsewhere.

The center is bright and cheerful, with excellent staff members. The food is fantastic, and the residents definitely live comfortable lives. There are games, movies, and activities provided daily to keep everyone entertained. There is a beautiful greenhouse and courtyard in which many residents spend their afternoons, soaking up the sunlight. The holiday decorations are always gorgeous, and the facility really does go all-out. The patients seem happy and secure, and everyone is always smiling when I visit.

My mother currently lives in the Memory Care - Assisted Living facility at Saint Mark Village. She has been there for two years and seems (on most days) to enjoy it. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of care she receives and the respect and support the staff shows to her visiting family. I have two sisters in the area who alternately drop by to visit Mom every other day and a brother who sees her about 2x/mo. As I live at considerable distance, I only get to visit once or twice a year -- although as her trustee and POA, I communicate with staff on a frequent basis. ALL of us "kids" have been pleased with the caring environment at Mom's new home. Even when she is forgetful and grumpy, they show patience and kindness in dealing with her.
