"Of the places my brother-in-law visited, Elison Senior Living Community of Pinecrest was the one he's seriously considering. My sister and I were impressed. We thought it was great, and my brother-in-law liked it. It's very nice. The people there were very friendly. My brother-in-law went with his friends yesterday, and they were there for almost four hours. They talked with residents, had lunch, had a tour, and saw what rooms were available now. Whatever questions my brother-in-law and his friends had, the staff took all the time to answer them in detail. His friends were really impressed with the place as well. They had the menu for every day of the week, and it's different soups and different salads. They have different specials every day to keep it interesting. The sample rooms that we saw were very nice; not too small, not too fancy. They seemed very well maintained. They've been in business for over 30 years, but everything still seems very current and in excellent condition. It's very fresh. It feels a little bit like a really nice hotel, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's very clean and very well tended. The rooms were attractive. They have a long list of activities every day. There's always something going on, and they do the transportation thing. It's a pleasant building, and the people who work there seemed very friendly and dedicated to their job. They like their job. They have a whole wall of people who have worked there multiple years. It's another good sign. It's very clean, very well maintained, and very youthful. The first day we went, the main person wasn't available. Somebody else gave the tour, but she explained that everybody pitches in and does everything there. She gave us a tour, and we met other people in the elevator who work there. Everybody really seemed friendly and greeted all the other residents by name."

"The Barrington was nice and modern looking. They had a nice swimming pool, served all three meals, and had transportation to doctors' offices. We had a nice lady who showed us around and had all the information we needed. She showed us one room that was adequate and very nice. It was a very nice visit. We’d consider it when we decide to move somewhere because I like this area. "

"Oak Manor was nice with skilled nursing center and apartments. It’s almost like 1 floor, you could get outside not just look out the window. There were lots of trees, and it's not just looking at a parking lot from your window. The lady who showed me the place was very friendly. It’s right next door to the church where my mom used to go. They know a lot of people my mom knew. It’s very homey, and for her it would have been nice. The rooms were nice and average sized. The dining area looked clean, and the people seemed to be having a good time with the people sitting in at the table. "

"Tampa Gardens Senior Living was so clean and so beautiful. It has many amenities. The dining room is perfect. The only thing that we saw that we don't like is the bedroom. It is so small, but the bathroom is perfect. The little kitchen is also perfect. The place is nice and the price is good. The staff is very friendly, and they explained everything very nicely. Everybody was nice there. The girl was very sweet, and she explained everything correctly. The building is beautiful. It's near the trees. It has a beautiful garden outside, and people can stay outside. It's nice. It has many amenities there. We love the place."

"I visited Regency Residence. It is mostly an independent, but they also do assisted living and a little bit of memory. It is wonderful. It is a very nice place. There were a lot of independent people. I would recommend it. The people were very patient, very loving, very caring. The rooms looked very nice. They were reasonable. They had the one-bedroom. It was nice and small. They had a little kitchen, the bathroom, and a walk-in shower, which I thought was very good. The two-bedroom was about the same. It was the big one, and it was very nice too. The staff was very caring. They really cared about the patients, and they were always explaining to you, and they would come up and talk to you. They made sure that everything was OK. I tried eating there. It was very good food, but they should ask a lot of people like if they had diabetes and make special foods for some of these people who could not eat so much sugar and salt. The food was good. They had decent meals. They had three meals a day. The morning stuff, afternoon, and dinner. I enjoyed the whole place. "

"My wife moved into Amilcat Care Home LLC. So far, it's fine. She's happy there. It's a very small place. There's only four or five patients, but they have a TV and somebody sits with them all the time. The floors are shiny. The table looks nice. The living space is fairly decent. Her room is small, but efficient. The staff is always there and talking to them. If they want to go to the restroom, they take them. They bathe them. She had her nails polished and she's happy."

"It is a very big community. They have several floors. It is the best one I've visited. It's very clean and very well structured. The staff was very nice and seemed to be concerned about our situation. However, in the end, they couldn't help us because of my brother's criminal record in the past. The dining area was set up like a hotel. The private room was nice and roomy, and it had a bathroom. The residents all seemed happy and engaged in whatever activity they were doing."

"We love Grand Court...we chose Grand Court for our lovely mother because we knew she would receive great medical care and other services in beautiful and warm environment. We enjoy visiitng her there. All the staff members are warm and helpful. It is a gorgeous setting too. And the food is outstanding in the scenic dining room. And there are so many wonderful and fun activities for the residents to keep them vibrant, healthy and happy...and familly members too. I was finally able to take a vacation, knowing my mother is safe and secure and well looked after at Grand Court. "

"Addington Place at College Harbor was very close to where we live. It's bigger, more luxurious, and more expensive, but less homey than the other place we visited. It's very lovely, and it's in a very nice location. It's on the bay way going over to the beach located on the Intracoastal Waterway. They have a dock, and you can walk out and look at the water. You may have breakfast as one of your meals, and then you can have lunch or dinner. We would've considered it, but they didn't have any availability on the ground floor with outside openings, and they only take 1 small dog. They said they might be able to stretch it to 2, but it was not their normal policy. The apartments were very nice, the facility was very clean and well run, and the people we talked to were happy. Their activities were on the high scale. They do outings. They had beautiful grounds, and the plantings were gorgeous."

"The only reason we chose The Meridian at Brandon over the other place was because my brother is only 67 years old. He's fairly young, and while the other place was very nice, to me, it was more of a leisurely, relaxed atmosphere, which was nice for the older people, but I think at Meridian there was a comfortable level of noise. It seemed like there was more activity. It's a bigger place. He can walk the halls. I think he'd be more active there. Jennifer was very informative and very helpful. She walked us around. I was tired of walking by the time we got out of it because the place was so big. She showed us everything and introduced us to the housekeeping staff and the medical staff. We got to meet everybody."

"The Residence at Timber Pines was the most impressive, but the cost was a lot higher than the rest of them. So they provide more, but the cost is more. Their accommodations looked fine as far as the dining rooms and all their other social rooms were a lot more luxurious than the other places. They've got a warm dining room full of crystal chandeliers. They've got two beautiful dining rooms, and they provide more during the day like if we like having a snack, a cup of coffee, or drinks, they're always available. Other places would only provide three meals, and that's it, but here, you can have anything you want. They've got independent living, assisted living, and nursing care also. Two staff people gave me the tour. The first one was more helpful than the second person. They invited me to go to lunch there any time I feel like it. They don't have a washer and dryer in the apartment but on every floor, and it's free for everyone who lives there. All you have to do is provide your own soap or detergent."
