"I toured the assisted living facility of The Residence at Timber Pines, and it's really nice. The size of the rooms was really good and the place was very clean. The dining area was also very clean and very nice. It's also a good size. The staff members were really nice, very friendly, and very informative. They have a patio and a garden, and they're really nice. It looks clean with flowers and trees. The parking was not so good as there were a lot of people there."

"It is a very big community. They have several floors. It is the best one I've visited. It's very clean and very well structured. The staff was very nice and seemed to be concerned about our situation. However, in the end, they couldn't help us because of my brother's criminal record in the past. The dining area was set up like a hotel. The private room was nice and roomy, and it had a bathroom. The residents all seemed happy and engaged in whatever activity they were doing."

"I toured Salishan Gracious Retirement Living. I liked everything about it. It was good, but they're expensive. I went for lunch and dinner. The only thing is that breakfast was too early for me. You have to be there at 8:00 or 8:30, and that was the only problem, but everything was fine."

"I toured Vitality Living Spring Hill. I liked the dining area. You can order anything you want to eat. The dining room was beautiful. The chef was nice, Stephanie. She's very caring, and they're very caring there. Wendy and Frankie were very nice to me. I feel like I'm going to like it a lot. They have a pool and a lot of activities, which I need. I've been to the Memorial Day celebration. It was very, very nice. I met a lot of people, and the food was good. It was a nice day."

"I have selected Elevated Estates at The Edwinola for my husband. I like the facility. I like the whole setup and the way it's done. I think it's just a place he would feel more comfortable in. The exterior of it had a large porch with all kinds of rocking chairs, all covered. Several people were sitting out there enjoying the day. When you walk inside the building, everything is clean. The people who live there are milling around, enjoying themselves. When you go in for meals, they give you a menu to choose from, and they prepare your meals and bring them to you. It's like going into a restaurant. Rather than being given the meal of the day type thing, they have options, too. They also serve snacks. If the resident is not feeling well, they will bring meals to the room for them. They have lots of activities. They have movie nights with popcorn and all kinds of things. They just seem to really be happy there. The people who live there seemed to be in a great frame of mind. They showed me apartments, and my husband will have his own studio apartment with a little kitchenette area. When I was there, it was not mealtime or anything, but they had a coffee thing that they set out in the morning. Everybody can help themselves with coffee and water and all that. It's a very relaxed environment. It's more like a hotel than a nursing home."

"I guess there was a miscommunication on my appointment for Saturday. There was no one there to show me around. Finally, the activity director, interrupted her pickle game to come and show me the model room and answer a few questions. I was told someone would call me next week with prices, availability, etc."

"My friend will move into Brookdale Bayshore. First of all, the view is beautiful and every single room has a view of the bay. It's got a great outdoor pool, kitchen, and a dock that even provides fishing poles. Everybody was nice. It's a beautiful facility, and everything seemed just first-class. Anna's great, and she'd been my point of contact throughout the whole process. She's been readily available and has answered all my questions. They invited us to have lunch one day. We sat in on lunch, and they provided a glass of wine for us, and that was great. The menu options I saw looked extensive, and all of them sounded good. They do have a beauty salon. They have the library. They have a whole lot of different functions going on. They have live music and happy hours. They have outings where they go to different places."

"I was very impressed with The Meridian at Brandon. I thought that the place was great. I had a nice tour. I was very impressed with the facility, and I was very impressed with the way that facility was kept, and with the people who gave me the tour and told me all about it. It's bright, airy, and clean. They take good care of the building. I like the design of it, too. There are a lot of very big open, airy spaces. There's a lot of little nooks and crannies where people can sit. They have cool things like fireplaces and a place where you can walk your dog. They have good security, too. It's independent living, assisted living, and then they have a memory care unit. And I was very impressed with the way that they did that, because a lot of people go in knowing they're going to graduate from independent living to assisted living, and then actually wind up needing full 24-hour supervision. I only met three staff, and they were all delightful. The food looked fresh and well prepared. Their menu has a lot of variety and the people who live there have choices. If they don't want the main thing on the menu, they can get choices. They can also get service if they miss a meal like they come down and it's too late for breakfast like they overslept or whatever, or if they want a late lunch. The dining room accommodates people, which I thought was good."

"I like the fact that there are many people at The Barrington Senior Living. They have so many things, there are choices at lunchtime, and there is a menu in the evening. They come in and vacuum, but my brother does his own pills there. The food is excellent. The amenities are great. It seems like there is a bus service. The staff is friendly. There's a wide range of things you could do. They have poker, and a 4:00 social hour where you can have a cheap glass of wine. I thought the whole thing had a wonderful, open, good atmosphere, and it was nice. The public areas were wonderful. However, it was a little bit old. In terms of activities, I enjoyed the grand piano that the lady played in the entry area. I saw that there were exercise classes that interested me. I think they had a book club or something on books there. They had poker and billiards, maybe."

"I toured Hawthorne Estates of Brandon, and the staff was so friendly. They welcomed me, and I thought, "I have been living there for a long time." The people who lived there were very nice. I really enjoyed it when I was there. It was a friendly atmosphere, and I loved it. The facility was very clean, and I didn't have any problems. I walk with a walker, so going in and coming out of the facility was great. They have a washer and dryer in the hall of each floor. They have activities. They showed me where I could get my hair done. They have salons. They told me at two that they had the happy hour. They had an exercise class, and they showed me a dining room, and it was beautiful."

"The Hacienda Village is for people who are 55 and older. You can either buy or rent the trailer or pre-fab home. The one that I am living in is very good. They have all kinds of things going on here like music, fun, and stuff like that. For every holiday or whatever it is, they have parties. Everybody cleans their own place. Management is fine; everything is OK. They do keep up the property and everything. "
