"After a terrible experience with another home health care provider we met with the owner of First Light for information regarding care of my 95 year old father who lived at home, was sharp, very fit and not at all happy about having in home care. From the first meeting I felt that the owner was invested in his business and his clients. He expressed a commitment to matching the needs and personality of the client to a caregiver and with some coordination, we have three wonderful caregivers who Dad looks forward to seeing everyday. The first helps keep him fit with excursions to the pool, driving range and putting green. She also keeps easy to heat or eat food in the fridge. We schedule appointments during her shift and she has come to know each of his doctors. Another caregiver takes him on errands or to the wellness center for a workout. She also adds value to his passion of painting landscapes by touching up details that he has trouble with due to low vision problems. His third caregiver comes only once a week. She has become very special to him as well. On Sunday she takes him to church and then to brunch. She is his granddaughter's age and she never knew her grandfather, so the relationship has meaning for both of them on several levels. I can't say enough about how First Light has restored the relationship between Dad and I, my sanity and has restored the independence for Dad that he lost when he stopped driving. I know that Dad will need increased levels of care in the future and am confident that with First Light as a partner, we will have the support we will need. "

"Baycare Home Health Dunedin is the worst home health there is. There nurse that I had on the weekend was questionable and did not provide care to the best of my knowledge. When calling the office with a complaint no one cares about their patients. Not a good place for extended care."

"I have excellent home health for my husband. It's Keystone. We have a wound care specialist. He comes to do the wound. We have physical therapy and occupational therapy. The physical therapy has helped my husband so much, and occupational therapy ends in two weeks. My husband is doing really well. It's just really remarkable from what he was a couple of months ago. I can't say enough about Keystone."

"After having an auto accident and being hospitalized for more than 2 weeks, I was required to be under the care of Gentiva Health Services at my home. I saw a nurse everyday and a physical therapist 3 times per week. Gentiva's staff was very caring and gentle. They helped me get back to health. I recomend them to all my friends "

"We used Bayshore Home Care for my parents quite a while back. The doctor had ordered it for my father back in 2007. He passed in 2008. So, initially the care was for my father. When my dad passed away, they started caring for my father. My brother and I have asked them to come in because we knew them from caring for my father. We had them come in a couple of hours a week for my mother. They came in and helped my mother with daily living tasks. My mother had surgery and she had weakness on her left side of her body. She couldn't take a shower and she couldn't reach so they would help her with her shower. They would help her get dressed and keep her company. She had been lonely because after my dad died she started to fall. I was coming everyday to see her. They also go for walks with her. I think most of the time the caregivers are pretty good. Occasionally, they would send somebody young and my mother being an older person she was like 85 when we started it. She got along well with people but they started bring ladies on their 40's and 50's and my mother could relate to them better. The nurse would come out and check on my mother to make sure she was doing ok. They would check if the plan needs to be changed. As she was getting older, she was needing more care and we increased the hours. "

"Mobile Personal Services Inc was pretty good. I had no problems with them. My aunt used them and the caregivers were good. They provided the same services as I have now, but they're a little pricier."

"We had BrightStar Care Pinellas. They said if I wasn't happy with one of the caregivers, they would be glad to send different caregivers. However, I had one problem with them. I wanted somebody from 8:30 to 8:30 so that I would be free to go to do whatever I wanted to do. One afternoon, the caregiver's house went on fire and she had to leave and they did not send me another person until 9:00 at night. Otherwise, they filled in at the last minute and it turned out OK. The caregivers were fine. They helped with personal care, showers, transfers between chair to wheelchair or lift chair, chair to toilet, chair to bed, and wheelchair to bed because he is non-ambulatory."

Hygeia's core philosophy is that we strive to provide the level of care we would want our own family members to receive. This emanates from quality control measures which begin when we hire a new clinician: Professionals are screened with complex clinical interviews to ascertain competence and once hired the clinician's work is rigorously evaluated to ensure that they provide the highest quality of care. Our clinician owners embody the epitome of the "hands on" management style, frequently providing treatments themselves and during these treatments eliciting from patients impressions of the company and their caregivers. As healthcare professionals, we are uniquely able to ascertain whether the patient is being properly cared for and can quickly discern problems before they become impediments to recovery. Finally, we invest considerably in the quality of our care, paying Hygeia's clinicians at the highest levels in the industry and providing our working professionals with high quality tools. We believe home care is a vital, cost effective service which helps individuals recover from disease or injury in their own homes and enables them to maintain their independence. With the aging population, home care plays a pivotal role in reducing hospitalizations and placements in nursing homes ensuring the long term viability of the Medicare system. Therefore, with conviction and passion we march forward with our mission of providing the community and our patients with an agency which provides nothing less than outstanding care.

"I'm a healthcare surrogate of a client. Wound care suppose to come out twice a week. Team 6 is horrible and the supervisor does not ensure nurse is scheduled. Supplies are not ordered. Only ordered one time. I've had to go buy supplies that they are suppose to supply. Need medicine for wound and I was told by supervisor you call the doctor. What do they do? "

"It took twice for SunCrest OMNI Home Health to find a good match for my father but the caregiver we got right now is very good. She is getting along well with him. This is her second week. The agency has a very good reputation. The services that they offer are everything that you would expect - nothing different, nothing more, just the same. "

"They have been there for us through the stroke after the the stroke my mother-in-law went to a rehab when she came home to the house the very next day we had nothing but professional care come in to assist us and teach us what needed to be done each and every day 5 days later mother got up was not feeling right the nurse was due any minute when she came in the door and took the vittles I dialed 911 and mom had a pace maker put in. 7 days later the same staff started back into our lives and now mother is about 90% recovered for being 90 years young she is doing great and we owe to the kind care giving and understanding for her and for us because boy we had a lot of concerns after the rehab center but that's another story .I would highly recommend Gentiva to my worst enemy "

"We hired BAYADA. They have been awesome. We have 24/7 care for my mother. Obviously, they are watching her for falls. They also do some light housekeeping, they also do some cooking for her, and they're re-orienting her because her memories are going now. I called around and they actually seemed more personable than the other ones. They're less like a business and more like somebody that would care about my mother. They also said that they would try to get a team together for her so that she would get to know the aides and not have so many coming through the house. She has multiple caregivers, but we have a few that are like part of the core team that come frequently, and really have gotten to know her, so much so that they're comfortable contacting me and telling me things that are out of the scope, which has been really helpful. They also provide transportation for Mom to get to the doctors' appointments and things, so that's been helpful. The billing has been fine. They've never been without scheduling. They might have to emergency switch somebody out, but somebody has always been there. Even through the storms that came through there last week, they were able to arrange to make sure that somebody was going to be there, so that was helpful, because I was a little bit worried about that. I think they've been great."
