"I visited The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch. It is very nice, but it's very expensive. They seemed to cover every single base you're there, and you can move as you deteriorate, or if you deteriorate into a more assisted facility, they take care of you until they bury you. So, it's complete, and I have a lot of friends there. They're all old, so they're not there forever, but I know some people there who speak highly of it. I've been over there to eat, and the food has been good, and the servers have been very attentive."

"I visited the Bay Village of Sarasota and toured the independent living. I did a ministry for our church, which involved going into senior communities, so I was already quite familiar with these places. I took this tour mostly to see more of it and to find out the financial aspects of it. The staff members were professionals, so they were used to giving the spiel and giving the tour. The visit was a group thing. There were quite a few people there because it was an event. I think it was a brunch, so it did involve food. There must have been 30 or 40 people there. They gave us the spiel, broke us up into groups, and gave us a tour. The food was very nice. I don't know if it was in-house food or not, but I think it probably was. They had just done a whole several-million-dollar renovation and were quite proud of themselves."

"I can not recommend this facility highly enough - 10 stars! The facility is clean, the rooms are large and well maintained, the grounds are beautiful. However, it is the staff that sets The Fountains apart. Both of my parents lived at The Fountains together until we had to move my dad to a different facility for memory care. It was then that I discovered just how special The Fountains staff is. They were loving and helpful through the process, and when I was able to compare the staff at my dad’s new facility to the staff at The Fountains, I was shocked to discover that not all facilities held their staff to the high standards that The Fountains does. We actually kept my mom at The Fountains because we loved the staff so much, and she still lives there now. During the recent hurricane I was again astounded by the high-level of care. Family members were kept constantly informed of the evacuation, the plan was well thought out and orchestrated to move residents inland to Orlando, and the staff to resident ratio for the trip was 1:2. The dedication to the residents never ceases to amaze me. There are daily activities for residents, beautiful grounds to walk on, a common area to gather in, pool, exercise room, and many other amenities, but what sets The Fountains apart is the staff, and when all is said and done, if you don’t have a caring staff, nothing else matters. I love The Fountains, and you will too. "

"We found Lakehouse West for my mom. She hasn't moved in yet, but up until now, they have been wonderful helping with the move and helping renovate the apartment. They have been excellent so far. The apartment is nice sized, and it has a beautiful lake view. It should be perfect for what she's looking for. I like the facility, I like how clean it was, and I like the fact that the price was reasonable. I'm not sure how extensive their amenities are with the Covid, but they have a movie theater, a salon, a poker room, a heated pool, and a library. They pretty much have everything. The staff was wonderful. It's an older building, but it's very nice."

"I took a tour of Sunnyside Village's independent living. I also have a friend who lives there, and I visit her maybe once a month. They have extensive grounds. They also have a lot of independent duplex houses and apartments, so they have a lot of independent living. Their assisted living is fairly small. They also have memory care, nursing care, and rehab. They have an outdoor pool and a library. I remember the apartments were especially beautiful. I also know they have a van or a bus that takes people to things. If I were going to stay in Sarasota, I think I would go to Sunnyside because it has a warmer feel to it, and it is also a little more affordable. The residents have a meal plan where they eat in the main dining room. During COVID, they boxed food and brought it to their doors for them. At one point, I did have dinner with my friend there, and the food was very good. My friend is very happy living there. I also think you get more value for your money there."

"I like that Aviva Senior Living is clean and that it doesn't smell. I like the idea of living in a community like that. They have a library, a hair salon, and a swimming pool. The staff who gave the tour was friendly. The dining area looked nice. It was well lit and spacious. The facility looked good. They have concerts and lectures there, too."
