I live in Elance at Sarasota. They're doing a lot of remodeling and fixing up what was the fountains. It's not finished. It's a work in progress. The rooms are very large. They have transportation to doctors. They have activities going on. They have a gym. They have fitness classes and water aerobics, and movies, entertainment. They have a bar that's open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

I can not recommend this facility highly enough - 10 stars! The facility is clean, the rooms are large and well maintained, the grounds are beautiful. However, it is the staff that sets The Fountains apart. Both of my parents lived at The Fountains together until we had to move my dad to a different facility for memory care. It was then that I discovered just how special The Fountains staff is. They were loving and helpful through the process, and when I was able to compare the staff at my dad’s new facility to the staff at The Fountains, I was shocked to discover that not all facilities held their staff to the high standards that The Fountains does. We actually kept my mom at The Fountains because we loved the staff so much, and she still lives there now. During the recent hurricane I was again astounded by the high-level of care. Family members were kept constantly informed of the evacuation, the plan was well thought out and orchestrated to move residents inland to Orlando, and the staff to resident ratio for the trip was 1:2. The dedication to the residents never ceases to amaze me. There are daily activities for residents, beautiful grounds to walk on, a common area to gather in, pool, exercise room, and many other amenities, but what sets The Fountains apart is the staff, and when all is said and done, if you don’t have a caring staff, nothing else matters. I love The Fountains, and you will too.

I visited The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods, and their rooms are very nice. The room shape is like a square, so it's easy for me to move around as I have a power wheelchair. The staff were all very nice as well.

The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods was very nice. However, there was an entrance fee for independent and assisted living, and they did not have a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment.

I recently had an opportunity to visit The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods. I am not easily impressed but The Fountains surpassed my expectations. The setting is truly awesome as it has several lakes, fountains and nature abounding all around all leading to a serene and relaxing environment. The people working and living there seemed interesting, very happy and friendly. All in all it was like a welcoming oasis but still near a major mall and the beaches and the city of Sarasota. What's more to ask? If you are fortunate enough to get Chris or Claudia to show you the facility, you will appreciate your visit of the The Fountains even more.

The staff was fine. The downside to The Fountains is that you have to go outside to get most things. If you're in independent living, you live in their central building where the dining room is, but other than that, almost all their activities like the gym and crafts are in a building about halfway between the independent living and the assisted living facilities. You have to go outside to get there, and with my wife being in a wheelchair and using a scooter, that's not too cool especially if it's raining. If you have a two-bedroom place, that's a separate little villa. That's nice except for the fact that if you want to go eat, you have to go outside to get there. The people I talked to certainly knew all about their place.

At The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods, you need to buy into this facility. We were really impressed with this facility. Everything was first class, and the visit was very good. The staff did a good job on their explanation.

We had visited The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods and its a very nice and elegant facility. The people are very friendly. They have lots of great activities and amenities offered to their residents, and the reasons we did not choose them were because of the smaller size of the apartment, and the buy-in fee. Otherwise, we would love to move my mom in there.

I’ve only been at The Fountains for a short, brief visit. The salesperson who took us around told us a few fibs, and next time I called to talk to him, he had been fired. Now I don’t quite know how much of what I was told is true or not. That’s why I’m going back there, because I didn’t have a chance to really look. It’s a beautiful place. I love the ocean, and it's 2 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The campus is just gorgeous. The view is beautiful. I love Florida because I lived there for 13 years, and I really miss it. They have all sizes of rooms. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom. I think they have a studio. I looked at apartments because the salesperson who took us around, the one that got fired, told me I could go into the apartments with my cats, and that wasn’t true. I found out later on that I had to go to a cottage if I wanted to bring my cats, which is like a hundred thousand more in the entrance fee. Their pool is gorgeous. The dining area is very pretty. We had a little luncheon in their casual place, and it was OK. We had a sandwich. I really couldn’t tell how good their food was because we only had a sandwich. They have a lot of activities. They have classes from Watermark, and they come over and give lectures. They have exercise, they have tai chi. That was one of the things that I really liked.

We'd known about The Fountains basically since it was built. We've been impressed all along. As far as I was concerned, it looked fine to me. I think the layout is beautiful. It's lovely, well kept and the facilities are nice. Cleanliness is not a problem as far as I know. My friend who is there had more health issues so she was put in the nursing facility part and that has worked out really well for her. She just moved back into her 1-bedroom unit that she has over there. I know she is very happy.

We found The Fountains through the internet. It was really pleasant and clean there. However, it just looked like a bunch of condominiums that were very close together. The staff was very polite. I only saw their model unit and I didn't like it because there wasn't a patio that exits to the outside. Regarding their residents, everybody there looked old. I just realized that I wasn't ready for this type of living and I would rather be on my own.

At the Fountains, the place was very clean and very pretty. It has a country club setting, more like a retirement community than assisted living facility. They really had good food. The staff who catered the luncheons were very friendly. However, they did not us give a tour of a room and the place did not give you any feeling of what help would be because I think if you needed help, you would have to segway out of that venue and go to an assisted living which is not what they were.

I have just spent two days thoroughly investigating this community with my parents. We all love it and they will be moving in right away! How wonderful it feels to know they are excited to be moving at their ages of 92 and 88 instead of being resistant. Every comfort is addressed as well as safety issues. The highlights were the residents we met and the Watermark University. My folks can't wait to start computer classes and get involved in the fitness opportunities. There was an art exhibit with champagne to show off what the residents had made. We enjoyed a delicious shrimp boil lunch by the pool served by friendly staff. The administrative staff was very professional and accommodating during both of our tours. They were the best listeners and really heard what my parents' desires for their life were. Pet friendly too. They have all levels of care for the future needs of my folks and the moving assistance they will provide will make this transition minimally stressful. I will rest well knowing my parents are here instead of alone and possibly in danger in their present home. Best of all is that they chose to be here not me placing them somewhere. We have broken out the champagne to celebrate their new adventure!

The Fountain was a really nice place. It was very clean and the food was good. They had very pretty grounds, and there were lots of different activities to do there. They'd also do the housekeeping for you once a week. I really liked it and I think we would have enjoyed it there, but my husband and I decided that we'd be staying at our home for now.

Not good since Watermark took over.
Provider Response
Thank you for your feedback, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly about your concerns. We are very proud of what we have accomplished as a Watermark community, from $4.6 million in renovations, to deficiency free surveys, expanded dining options, great Watermark University classes and much more. I'm proud to say we have received nothing but praise for our accomplishments from residents, associates, plus visitors who had previously toured the community. Please feel free to call me personally at 941.929.2400 with any questions or concerns 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Thank you very much.
