"Although within 2 months we found Dad could not live independently. The staff was wonderful, Dad had a lot of resistance felt he should live with me. Everyone felt my pain and worked real hard on helping Dad transistion. Dad is now in skilled nursing due to many setbacks with his health. But I will never forget the care and help the staff provided us. "

"We chose this facility because they accept Medicaid and VA. It is located right off a big intersection and that made it very convenient. The buildings are colonial style bricked and very spread out. There are numerous palm trees and shady areas around. My mom lives in a one room apartment which is big enough for her. There's a living room, a bathroom, a small kitchenette and a refrigerator which she really likes. She eats her meals in the dining room together with the other residents. The personnel are really friendly, welcoming, caring and able to assist anytime. They pay attention to her requests. For instance, she requested for special bars in her bathroom and they readily accommodated her. Furthermore, they provide entertainment like memory care. However, they could provide better service to their clients if they communicate more to family members. My mother is doing well in this place. She said everybody is taking good care of her. She feels this is her "home". "

"Our overall tour experience at Brookdale Sarasota Midtown was very good. The dining area was nice. They had tablecloths in it. Their memory care program (called Crossings Program) has services for people with memory loss, who are functioning at a higher level. It's sort of a cross between assisted living and true memory care. So, it seems like it's going to be a good fit for my dad and we are planning to move him there."

"My father was at Grand Villa of Sarasota. It was very nice, it was a great location, and it was a good price. The food was excellent. He really liked it. He had a one-bedroom apartment, and it was very nice. They had activities before COVID, but after COVID they pretty much mixed the activities. They had a few after it loosened up, but they had good activities. They took them out on a bus, they had an exercise room, they had a game room on the fifth floor, and they had a pool table."

"I liked Alderman Oaks very much. It has a special appeal because my mother-in-law is someone who is active and lives in New York City now, so would need stimulation, would need places to go that are culturally significant, so being very close to and pretty much right in downtown Sarasota, it's ideal. We liked Alderman Oaks. My husband's only negative comment was that it's a little tired looking or a little worn, whether it's the rugs or the painting or whatever. He's involved in real estate, so he notices these things. I did not notice it. My mother-in-law liked it as well."

"It was just absolutely gorgeous. People were around. There were activities going on. It was just a friendly beautiful place. They have a 7-acre lake, and all of the units face the water. It was just beautiful; you would never know you're in the middle of the city. In the lobby, they had a jewelry show going on. A day before, they had an art show going on. It was lively. It looked like you're in a Marriot Hotel because they had open floor plants. It was clean. It was bright and cheerful. We were very impressed. The rooms were nice and large. You had a little patio. The people on the second floor had a lanai. We looked at a two-bedroom unit. The main master bedroom was beautiful, bright, and sunny. It had a large closet and a nice bathroom. The facility did have a small kitchen. There, they would give you two meals. The dining room was beautiful. Everybody was very friendly and polite. "

"HarborChase of Sarasota was not yet open when we were there, but it looked like it was going to be a small but very nice and comfortable facility. It had no swimming pool or outdoor activities areas, but it was very nice. "

"I moved into here. I'm happy and have plenty of room. The staff is wonderful. Everything has been fine. "

"The community was new and everything was beautiful. They had a nice setup with the hallways, but it did not seem suitable for my mother-in-law. I didn’t think the grounds would have been as nice as for her to get out. It was very small, and kind of limited. If she would be on the second floor, she would be confined. The ceilings of the rooms were very high, they had fans going, but most elderly people do not like ceiling fans. "

"It was very nice. I thought it would be fine for my neighbor, but my husband didn't think that she would like it there. It was bright and cheery, and it was clean. I used to do home health and I was in these facilities years ago as a nurse, and the problems that I had sometimes with the staff will not be the same because the same staff is not there. The problems that I had with the patients were, of course, between me and the patient. The facility building itself was the same. It hasn't changed that much in the years that I used to be a nurse. "

"I made my husband a new home at Angels Senior Living at Sarasota. He loves it. He is in assisted living, and he has a one-bedroom apartment. He does a lot of activities. He has made some new friends. He does like it. This place would be a very good option for those looking for a place for their loved ones. The staff they have there are very friendly and helpful. I've tried their food and it's very good. For activities, they have entertainers, comedians, and piano players. They have games, trivia, and bingo. They have movie nights and social hours. We are very happy there."

"I toured Water's Edge of Bradenton. The space was very nice, very large, very clean, and had two car garages. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable, and I enjoyed them. They have a pool and a gym. They have people that rehabilitate you if you need it."

"I toured Brookdale Phillippi Creek. The staff members were helpful. Everything was updated. The rooms were more modern and fairly spacious as long as it wasn't the small room, like the studio room. The other rooms for other activities and amenities were good. They have a coffee machine and places for people to sit and do things during the day. I thought it was better than the others. The people I met were very good. The food smelled good. There was a nice outside area."

"My father-in-law is at Brookdale Palmer Ranch. It's very clean. It was recently painted on the exterior, while the interior is also very pleasant, welcoming, fresh, and clean. The staff is excellent, very caring, and competent. I've attended a cookout and tasted the food and it was fairly good. They have activities like Wii, bingo, a Jeopardy game, and outside entertainment music coming in, and they take the residents out to different restaurants and shopping. They have one-bedroom, different sized one bedrooms, and different sized efficiencies."
